mango24, your lips may be dry after the surgery, It's just to keep them from chapping. If you had to sneak a little sip, I'd tell them you accidently swallowed while brushing your teeth.

mango24, you have a ticker, and I see you visited glittermaker.com too. Awesome!!! Your color is forever orange!! sess SA, welcome to the Lucky 7's. Hope everyone out there is having a wonderful LUCKY day. It's 7/07/07 So how many people are going to play the lottery tonight? And how many do you think will play 777 on a pick 3? If those numbers were picked they'd probably each get a quarter by the time it were all said and done, as everyone would probably paly those numbers today. So I am going to play the lotto tonight, but I'll be picking some other numbers!!!:clap2:

chickb13, I use Body Fortress from Walmart, but they only have chocolate and vanilla (that I've found) and they are good. You get 5 lbs for about $12, a little cheaper than the Unjury.

Patti C, it sounds like you had a rough day yesterday:cry, and even if stress won out yesterday, today is a new day:), so wipe your slate clean, and your consious (sp) and forget about it. Don't let it ruin what you've already accomplished:D. Learm from it and move on. We've all done it before. Don't let your boss bully you. You are entitled to your time, and let him know that you can always have the Dr. write you off for another week if you feel that he is going to be too demanding on you during your recovery phase:omg:. This is not something to screw around with. FMLA protects those of us with jobs that need to take medical leave, and don't worry about your job, it will be there for you when you return, whenever if may be:heh:. At think of it this way, you cheated on FISH:clap2:. It's better for you than other items you could of chosen, which I will not mention, due to those on pre op diets. So take a deep breath and let it go;). Do you feel better now??? :whoo:

Welcome jennyl, we're excited to have you join us. Danny, there was some other TESTOSTERONE around here, but I think they ditched us. Thanks for sticking it out with out with us. I hope you return to post after your surgery. After your trip, you may need that estrogen injection!! lindaa, you have a ticker. Horray for you. Sunny, sounds like you're getting things ready to go already. Someone wanted to know about things I had for surgery that I was glad I had, and things I wish I had. Well, I won't be much help for this. I was in and out quick, and actually used nothing from overnight bag. I had it all, chapstick, gas x, hot waterbottle (for gas pains), robe, slippers, socks, few extra pairs of underwear (in case I strained myself getting up out of bed when I had to go to the bathroom), change of clothes (I wore home what I wore into the hospital) deoderant, a book (not a magazine because there are pictures of food in most of them), a note pad and pen (to write down questions for the Dr. so I wouldn't forget them when he came to visit) kleenex, my MP3 player, cell phone, scrunchie for my hair(if it has no metal they should let you wear it during surgery), brush, lotion, toothbrush, toothpaste, and a watch (but they had huge clocks in the rooms) and slip on shoes to wear out of the hospital (I wore sandals in and sandals out- no bending down required) If I can think of anything else, I'll add to it. Hope this helps everyone out. I thought I had everything covered, and then ended up not needing any of it. Being over prepared is better than underprepared.

WOW, see what happens when I go to bed early one night. You all come out and play without me!!! Welcome to all our newbies- hope I get you all- eternity430, kristin07, nevedaspirit, and onmyway. We hae a great group going here and we're all excited to have you join us. Jump on in and enjoy the ride. Bobberts Mom, hope you're feling better today. I didn't have a hernia repair with surgery, kinda wish I had as insurance would of picked up some of the tab instead of none of it. Sunshinesonya, chimboree does the calendar and you are on the last copy I printed for the 16th. I believe this correct, let chimboree know if it's not. dieka32, you had to go there on the clothes!!!! We'll lets see, there are so many, I could post all day long, but I'll put it in short terms to save y'all. I want to be able to wear those low rider shorts and jeans (since this is about all they make these days)and look good in them. I want to dress in sexy lingerie for my DH, and feel good about how I look, not disguisted, and I want to wear tank tops so bad. Am I allowed 3 wishes today?? Ok, I'll stop there. Mango24 and lindaa, are you still working on the ticker. I'll send you a PM and try to help if you need me too. Just let me know. Chimboree, you are so beautiful, to me, can't you see. You will find the one. Maybe it is better to find him after your journey, since you'll be finding your 'new'self along the way!! Dini, what's up with my little sausage today? Haven't seen you post recently. I'm worried about you. Did you get my hug!!! Do I need to send it out again. Marcy, hows the inlaws? So sorry for you to be dealing with this with surgery so close. Have we heard from snaggletooth yet? Hope you're well and resting!! Laurend and wagnerd, I'm jealous. Not that I'm starving here, but I can only have 3 to 4 oz meals and Snacks, including strained creamed Soups, and no vegetables yet, even though I put veggie Soup in the magic bullet and made it liquid so I could drink it. Indiogirl, I had a hard time quitting smoking also, as I have still smoked 1 or 2 a day. It's hard, but I am still trying to get passed it. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. dmtjet, thanks for the compliment. I just know my step daughters mom probably didn't do anything special for her, so I wanted to make sure she knew it was a special time in her life, even if she didn't want to acknowledge it, and wanted her to know I was ther for her, whatever she needed or would need in the future. Phyllser, did you put the gas x on your list. You're gonna need it!!! Hope all the other Lucky 7 are doing great. Still no word from BeefyIrish from Monday, or Abbey from Tuesday. I think we lost them (from the thread.) And what about LWesson from Thursday. Hope all is well with these Lucky 7's. We're still thinking of you.

Bobbets Mom, keep resting, and drinking. You'll be feeling bettin soon, I promise!! Hope everyone has a great evening. I think I'm headed to bed to do some reading. I forgot I started a book last week before surgery, and I figured I'd read some in the hospital, but wasn't there long enough. So this will be a great time catch up on it. FYI, my step daughter didn't say much about her new friend:embarassed: "Aunt Flo". In fact, I had to ask her if she had some good news, so we talked about it for a minute, told her we'd go to the store tomorrow and get whatever she needs so we'd have some at the house for her. We came home and she ran out to play, and now she's spending the night at a friends:phanvan- her father's idea- I don't think he realized the importance of her maybe being at home at this time, but she went. All is well. Thanks to everyone for their :help: on that earlier. Good night to all!!!:notagree

Good evening all you Lucky 7's. I finally made it out of the house tonight for the first time since surgery. My DH palys softball on Friday nights, so I went to his game. It was so hot, but I was glad to get out. The Dr.s office called to schedule all my upcoming appointments. I asked about the driving thing. She said as long as I'm not taking the pain pills I can drive. Yahoo. So excited. I'm going shopping!!! Phyllser, don't forget the gas x!! Also, I heard the liquid vitamins are yucky. My Dr. said to just take the Flintstones chewables. You may want to ask your Dr about them. They're also cheaper. Princesswillow, welcome to the best group on this site!! delia, hope you get to feeling better. I was banded Monday and haven't had any problems so hang in there, it does get better, and it will be so worth it!! Dini, you sound so down. I'm sending a big bear hug your way........did you get it sweety. So are you really ready to be single again, or are you just really frusterated about the last week with Adam? I feel so bad for what you're going thru. Hang in there, I'm thinking of you!! Chimboree, how are you doing. Did you read I ordered my medical ID. I'm so happy you told us about them. I would of never thought to get one.

Danny, best of luck to you, and congrats on baby #2. Just think of all the energy you're going to have to play with them. Have a good flight, and let us know how it goes.

Laurend, great information. I know all Dr.s are different and you should always follow your own Dr.'s orders. (But today I want to follow your Dr. hehehe, but I won't) Icy, I'd check with your Dr on the driving thing. Mine said I can't drive until I go back for my 2 week post op appointment. I'm going to call next week and ask if I can. I need to get out of this house, even just to go to the park or something. I'm going to ruin my eyes sitting in front of this computer all day!!:ranger: As far as going back to work, if I had a desk job, I think I'd be good to go on Monday. I've felt great all week long, except gas pains here and there. Just make sure to pack your food. So I just ordered my Id bracelet from AmericanMedicalId.com. I picked the 10k gold. I didn't think the $200 was a bad price for the gold when the other sites are charging upwards of $50 to $75 for the beaded ones. I love the beaded ones, but I really wanted something I didn't have to take off when I shower, or swim, etc. All my jewelry is gold, so I'm not in the habit of taking anything off when I get into water. I'm afraid I'd forget one day and ruin the beaded one. So 10k it is. I'll get it Tuesday. I'm excited.:clap2: I'd try to post a pic of it, but I'm not sure how to do it.

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

Laurend, I can't believe what they gave you in the hospital and that if you're hungry in a few days to start mushies or solids!! I'd be scared to. I thought the whole liquid diet was to give your stomach time to heal, where they stitched the band to it. Having these foods will make the stomach work to digest the foods, possibly moving the band and stitches. This is what I heard anyway. I wonder what their reasoning behind it is?? Let us know if you hear anything.

Dini, where are you my little band buddy? Is the car gone?? Did Adam have to go get it today? That would be funny if he had to 'walk' to get it. Let us know!!

lindaa, welcome and congrats on getting a date. Hope you find a Dr. to fill you at home, have you tried Fill Centers, USA. Thanks everyone for the replies to my step daughters situation. Love the basket idea, and the chick flick. My sister has a daughter and she is about to be 14, and has started, so this could be a good weekend to 'get together with them'. Thanks so much all of you. I may be a woman, but new all this when it comes to the step daughter. Kind of gald I had a son!! But it will be fine. Yesterday we were talking about sleeping on the couch, recliner, etc. FYI, I'm doing this mainly because 80% of the time my DH and my 3 year old sleep in the bed also. I just didn't want to get hit or kicked by accident. That kind of accident may set me back a day ot two. I'm sure a bed is great for sleeping in, especially with the body pillows (used them when I was pegnant) Sunshine, you are a ray of sunshine to all of us here. Smiles come my way when I see your posts. And of course you can have 2 idols, don't mind to share with Laurend at all. About the friend, her sister (the nurse) should be covered under the Dr/patient confidentuality policy. I'd check up on it and ask. If you're not that comfortable telling the friend, then I wouldn't. And if the nurse says something, then she'd be in trouble. Don't let it bring unwanted stress on you right now. You don't need it. Or ask you Dr. if she'll be working the days you'll be there? Maybe she's off, or it can be 'arranged'. Cherrybomb, so gald to hear from you and you're doing well. Keep up the great work. Laurend, I didn't have bad gas pain until last night, not to scare you or anything. I've walkied myself what I thought would be enough to get eveything out, but it's still in there. Woke up with it too, but everyone's different. Yours may be all gone. I'm jealous. Coltonwade, I like the name, but funny as it sounds, I thought it was a race car driver. Sorry, haven't got into Nascar too much although my FIL loves it. I know the big names, but thought there may be one out there who was "colton wade." Marcy, having the guys over, and you stayed home?? I'd be headed out for a girls night or something!!

frusterated, I'm still chuckling at that. So how many pounds do you think seperates a BMI of 36 and a BMI of 40??? Or should I ask, how many ice cream sundaes, super sized fries, etc:eek:. Sorry, I forgot some are on pre-op diets, won't do it again. Someone should write a book about experiences people have had with their insurance companies to get this surgery covered. It would sell millions. I'd buy it.

dmtjet, I keep having this rumbling in my stomach that I'm not sure if it's gas or hunger pains. I sometimes feel like I can do a 6 oz shake instead of the 4 oz I can have, but I'm afraid to stretch the pouch. So I stick with the 4 oz, and drink lot of water inbetween, about 16 ozs inbetween the meals and snacks.

dmtjet, it was me asking, but that's ok. The mind goes out the door when your this close to your date. Happened to me too. So I need some advice myself from any ladies who have girls, teenage girls. My DH's ex called yesterday. My 12 1/2 yeal old step daughter had her first visit from 'Aunt Flo' yesterday. She's visiting this weekend, as we get his kids every other weekend, and I don't even know what to expect. The moodyness has been there for a while, but now it's going to be different. I'd love to take her out for a girls night, but I can't drive. Any suggestions would be helpful to me as it's an extremely important time in her life!! Don't want to screw this up, you know. Want her to know that this is a changing day in her life forever, but don't want to scare her either. So how have some of you handled the situation?
  18. Lynette617

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

dmtjet, yes, yours was puzzling. I thought you may have been a pilot flying some kind of 'jet' or something. That's why I used yours in my example. I just think it's neat what people come up with on here. I wish I had been more creative, but like you said, I didn't know what it was going to be used for either. Oh well.

only4me, there's only 1 person we should all be doing this for!! Love your name. I had the gall bladder removal also, and I had a tubal pregnancy they had to do the lap surgery on also. I always have had my trouble with the gas,:faint: and then everything else goes great.:clap2:

dmtjet, my Snickerdoodle protein shake was wonderful this morning!!! My new one I'm going to try after I get to the store this weekend is MINT CHOCOLATE. I'm going to get some mint flavoring (for baking) and add it into my chocolate protein shake. Sound good? I know they have banana and strawbery flavors also so I'm thinking Chocolate covered banana shake, and Chocolate covered strawberry shake also. Yum, Yum.

Gladster and Kathybad, love the names, and Kathy, I was wondering where the 'bad' came from!! Gladster, I can help on the organizing part. Love to organize.:heh: Yes, some will lose weight in their feet and lose shoe sizes as well, but don't go throwing out your shoes just yet. I'd wait to see if it's gonna happen to you. On your wardrobe, I myself have already donated any and all items that I will not fit into for the winter. I've kept enough things to get me to this point, summer wear, and will start purchasing few smaller items, mainly basics, as I shrink. No need to spend a lot, because we won't need the between size for long either. Maybe go to thrift stores for most items, and then splurge elsewhere on a piece or two. So you divide your closet into 3 sections, one for must keep items that you're wearing currently, one for the new items you'll have to purchase once you lose a little, and if you're like me, one for those clothes you may have purchased years ago and thought you'd hang onto just in case you ever lost the weight!!! Try not to keep anything with elastic waist bands. These items are great for people to go back to just in case they gain, but we're not going to do that. I do keep a few items with elastic for excercise purposes only, and we all have to have that 'lounge on the couch when it's too cold do anything in the winter outfit', and the 'Ok, I'm not feelling well, just want to curl up on the couch with a cup of chicken noodle soup' outfit. Those are ok, but you want to start wearing those pants with 'waists' in them, yeah, we're going to have a waist. This way, if it gets snug, you're doing something wrong, and you'll know it. If you have a Home Depot or Lowes close by, check out all the organizers that they have. No very pricy, and they get the job done. Hope this helps.

texgal61, you're welcome to come here anytime you want. Just because you don't have a date yet doesn't mean you can't join us, the more the merrier!! Maybe after hanging around us, you'll get Lucky and get a July date!! You never know. We'll help you pray for a date. We have 2 ladies that were banded in June, and we love them so much we'll never give them up to the June thread!!!! Speaking of which, Breadlady, Where have you been:confused:!!! Are you still at the lake with the kids!! Come check in with us, we miss you.:cry Marcy, see there, I was thinking of you with the inlaws and all.:heh: I knew it would be hard for you to post, or read up. Plus, you're getting banded soon, you'd have to check in before then!! Ok all, I have a great question for the day. It's not weight related, so no one has to do a lot of thinking today- it's Friday, no work today, so my fun question for the day is "What does your screen name stand for" Ok, some are a little more obvious than others, but some have me baffled.:help: A little obvious is mine. My screen name is Lynette617. Obviously, Lynette is my name, 617 is my birthday, June 17. Some of you have come up with the cutest names, just wanted to know what thought was behind it, is it a hobby, just something you thought up for this site, etc.:clap2: One not so obvious for me anyway is dmtjet, for example. Your real name is Jeanie so I'm having a hart time figuring out the dmtjet.:help: So if you wish to share, please let us know. If not, that's ok too. Just something fun for the day.

OMG I am still awake, my own doing, and so I came back here to read up for tomorrow, and ther's like 15 names of people on line here at the bottom of the page. How awesome is that. I've been researching a little more on the medical id bracelets. Definitely want on, just can't decide on one. I'm a gold person, and yes I'm willing to spend the money on a good gold one, not one I'll have to take of when I shower, swim, etc. I hate that, too much work. They are so many styles to choose from. The beaded bracelets are what i'm looking at. Very nice. I'm a purple person, so I have that figured out on crystal color. Will have to do more research tomorrow. Not like I don't have plenty of time. Marcy, Marcy, Marcy!!!! We didn't forget about you. I knew you may not post for a while because of inlaws in town. We were still thinking of you though. Someone asked about 'PILLS". Apple Blossom, Yes, my pain med is a pill, an average size, I break in half, and it goes down fine with Water. No problems yet. Cherrybomb, your back too. How wonderful. Glad to hear things went well. Ok, I'm really going to bed now. Can't keep my eyes open anymore. Have a great night everyone.

Laurends back, yeah!!! We're so glad you're back. That first step out of bed is a doosy isn't it. Hope you get better day by day. ChickB13, welcome back to you. I remember seeing you post. You just couldn't stay away could ya. JDKsbGirl, welcome to the Lucky 7's. ronik26, love your commentary post on 'the easy way out'.:heh: Everyone here must give this as an example next time someone says it's the easy way out. I just can't wait to see their face when you're done talking!!!! That was great.:) OK, how much gas do you think they put into you for this surgery:confused: I figured I'm 3 days out, been burping some (but afraid if I push to much I'll get sick or PB) and I've been walking outside 2 to 3 times a day, anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes each time. Tonight, I have had the worst gas pain in my shoulder area, I actually took a pain pill for it and had my DH massage it. Wasn't expecting it after all the walking I've done. Really strange. Hope it's the end of it.:phanvan I'm ready to be off the pain meds. Maybe then I can drive somewhere. I think I'm heading to bed since the pain pill has kicked in, just in case I don't sleep well. At least I can get a head start. Night all.:notagree P.S. Did you all see they have an icon that represents me. :ranger: Yes, that's Lynette sitting in front of her computer all day, writing to the Lucky 7's. Just think, everyday there will be more of us on line because all the new banders will be off work too, and you can't drive with the pain meds you're on, and you all will be so bored you'll have to come on and keep me company!!! Oh BTW, I'm drinking Soup in that icon!! Don't do coffee unless it is half sugar, and half creamer!!
