Danny, forgot about the cruise in my last post. I haven't been on a lot lately, but it doesn't look like we have a definite place yet. I think we need to set up a poll on the site for everyone to put in their ideas and then vote. That's fair for all of us. I don't care at all, it's a vacation away from work so I'm game!!

Renee, I'm sure everyone is different. I'm 12 days pot op but can still tell a little in my clothes that I'm bloated, may not be helping that Aunt Flo is visiting, so I'm going to try my capris on again on Monday. I keep waling and walking try to get the bloating out, and I'm drinking water about as fast as I can because I know it helps too.

Danny, If I didn't know any better it sounds like your wife got banded instead of you, the nausea, gas, etc. LOL. I haven't felt the hunger hit until about 10 minutes before I'm due to eat. I eat ever 2 1/2 to 3 hours. I eat 3 snacks and 3 small meals a day, all are 4 ozs each. In between I drink a bottle of water. I've been getting in 80 ozs of water a day. I think it helps keep me full, and I'm using the flavored packs to put in my water to keep it interesting. I have been eating scrambled eggs too, as they were on my liquid phase along with cottage cheese. These are my most filling meals right now along with the shakes with my protein powder.

Renee Marie, I'm 12 days post op and I've been able to bend down comfortable for 2 days or so, still taking it easy though, so by the 11 you should feel fine!! Danny, glad you're doing so well. Keep it up and those flabs will be abs in not time. BTW, how is your wife?? When is she due again?? Must be exciting to be doing this now for her and 2 little ones.

jackie506, WOW, I am proud of you. Not only does it sound like you were able to get a lot off your chest, but you stood up to her, for yourself. Yeah. :clap2: I think eventually we ALL will find ourselves in this situation at some time or another:phanvan, either pre band, or post band. It's not our fault that we have chosen to take a different road then they have:), and it's just as much our responsibility to know how they feel as it is for them to know how we feel. Communication is the key, and if they are a good friend, then they will be supportive, and if they are a food friend, it will be quite hard for them, not that it's unthinkable that they could be supportive, but it will be harder. Hang in there, and keep up the strength you have to turn down unwanted food. This is the key, and sooner or later, she'll get the picture and stop asking. Marcy, hope you get to feeling better. The nause is the worst feeling post band. I'm so afraid of a slippage.:phanvan Sunny, I don't thinkI'll be going back until August 6 (will find out Tuesday for sure) so we'll have a whole week to chat!!!!!:clap2: I just got back from my 1 hour walk:whoo:. It was great, a little hot so I had to stop and get a water, and right back out I went. I always feel so good after walking. It gets the day started off on the right foot, and I'm more likely to be physical the rest of the day, like getting out and going fishing, or to the park with my son. I love the way I feel right now.

dmtjet, I'm here, but like you I'm getting ready to head out walking myself. I figure the earlier, the better. lindaa, good luck and hope all goes well for you. Be safe, and let us know when you get back how you're doing!!! Tinkerbell, Ask you Dr. about the adventures you want to take. Personally, we have passes to our local amusement park, and my Dr. said no riding for 4 weeks. And I'm not allowed to life weights or any aerobics for 6 weeks, so I'd think you be ok for the boating you'll be doing at 6 1/2 weeks post op. I'd check with him/her first. ronik26, now why would they give you a restrauant card with your weight on it having had this surgery????????????????????????? That weight may be good for hmmmm, 1 DAY if that. How stupid is that!!! I agree with dmtjet, a lot of people gain from the gasses used, etc. Just wait, the scale will be going in the opposite direction in no time. If it makes you feel any better, I've lost 14 lbs, but cannot fit into a pair of capris I wore the day before surgery because of the swelling I still have 12 days after surgery. Be patient. Trystell, glad you back already. Hope your recovery is going smoothly. Caolin, stay with us, even if you just drop us a line once every few days. I promise, these last two weeks will fly by and you'll be banded in no time. Plus, you should have all of your questions answered by the time your up to bat, so you'll be at ease with everything that can happen. You'll be the most informed pre surgery member of the group!!! Ok, I'm going to get ready for my walk. I'm going to try to do an hour today. I'll check back in later on. Have a great day everyone.

Rainer , kc1228,and NDprarieLover, welcome to the Lucky 7's.:clap2: Chimboree, so glad you're feeling better, and thanks, again, for the updated calendar, haven't checked it out yet but will;). Dmtjet, glad you like the magic bullet. It's quick and and an easy clean up too. Wrangler, I'd be down at the stre first thing in the morning. You go girl.:heh: jackie506, congrats on getting INKED in!!!!:clap2: Dini, that darn port, have you bounced anymore, JK!!! how are you??? How many names do you have for our cruise?? cazulay, hope you get your computer fixed. I know I've missed some of you and I'm so sorry, I've got limited time this evening. I spent over 3 hours at my DH's softball game. He thought it was a 6:30 game and it wasn't, it was a 7:30 game so we sat around waiting, and just finally got home at 9:30. Needless to say, I'm wore out, hungry for my late snack, and I didn't get my nap in today, so I'm turning in now, but I'll catch up tomorrow with everyone. Have a great night, and don't have to much fun without me you hear!!

Felicia, It was 5 days after surgery when something actually "came out" so don't panick, let mother nature take her course!!

dmtjet, love the pic in your avatar. Ideas for liquids, are you allowed SF pudding, popsicles, fudgepops, or yogurt yet? I've been living on these the past week and a half. As far as soup, can you have creamed soups? Ive been eating the cream of broccoli, and I add in some cheee for more protein too. On the shakes, are you mixing it up, adding in fruit like berries, bananas, mandarine oranges, or peanut butter (my personal favorite) I think it helps if you change up the flavor every time. Also, I've been putting chunky soups in my magic bullet and blending them, and adding a little water to it. It seems more filling than the broths. Hang in there, mushys are just around the corner!!!

Anyone up for the 08/08/08 Cruise please PM Dini. She'll be keeping the list and 2 others are getting prices and checking out cruise lines. I think we've all agreed the Carribean cruise will not work with hurricane season, and so far we have votes for a Mexico and Alaskan cruise. Any other ideas, please don't hesitate to shout them out.
-
Welcome Becca, we have a great support group here. There's a lot of us, but the more the better. We're excited to have you join us. So where are you from? I'm in Covington, KY. Did you have surgery local? Hope you have a fast recovery. I was banded on July 2, and I'm feeling great!!!
-
Yeah, Danny, our testosterone is back. So glad to hear you had a wonderful experience down south!! And we're glad you came back to see us too. Lots going on. We're trying to get a one year Bandaversary Cruise started up for any of us who want to meet next year. Hope you'll think about it. It will be great. Gets some rest cause you have a lot of reading to do. We've been having a lot of fun around here, and just discard all the estrogen comments. Glad you're back safe and sound!!!

Gladster, I though what you wrote was well said, and I dont think anyone would be offended by it, it's your truth. For me, I've always ended up with thinner men, not that I looked for that, and I've been attracted to heavier men, they just weren't who I ended up with. Funny thing about my DH and I, we met on a Singles phone line. We talked for about 14 hours over the course of 3 days, and then finally met face to face. We joke because there is a song out there somewhere that stated, I knew I loved you before I met you, and it was the truth. We had so much in common and found out so much about each other in those 14 hours of phone conversations, that we knew we didn't even care what the other looked like, we liked each other from the get go. I remember him getting ready to pull away from my car one night, just 5 days after meeting him face to face, and he mouthed the words 'I love you' to me. I was freaked out, because I thought if was too fast. We had both been seperated from our soon to be ex's for only about 8 or 9 weeks. But it was love, and we couldn't help it, and I couldn't help it that the man on the other end of the phone line was a 'HOTTIE"

Dini, I think they just wanted to go somewhere where is wasn't AS hot as other places. I guess you can type that word, you sound very upset at him when that word comes up, didn't offend me. I've heard your story and what you've ben through, and I know you're upset. Hang in there with us. nurse76, glad to hear your full finally. It is a nice feeling only after a few bites isn't it.
-
Dini, I've been missing you my little suasage. Tell your brother to mind his own business, your weight loss decision is not up for discussion, and you don't really care what he thinks about all of it because he has no say in it. Then come back and see us, we miss you. lindaa filled you in on about everything. People are thinking about a Mexican Cruise, or an Alaskan Cruise because of hurricane season in the Carribean.

Good Morning All, Sunny, I know you love me:kiss2:, and just picking on me becasue I'm on here ALL the time, but I'm just soaking up all the info from everyone too. I have a long list of questions for my Dr. already when go for my 1st post op appointment. JenniferNAZ, You're back.:clap2: Great to hear from you and you're doing so well. Kepp us updated on your progress. Gladster, "GLAD" to hear you're feeling better about your decision. It's not an easy one to make, and I'm sure we've all second guessed ourselves up to a certain point, so it's normal to need some reassurance that it is the right thing for you, but only you can decide that in the end. This is a way out of our agony, and there is nothing easy about it. It is surgery, and it is scary, and we can fail again if we don't use our tool we are given properly. But I'm glad you're felling better about it. Christy, what a great question for the day.:clap2: I'm Lynette, 35 years old from Covington, KY (5 minutes from Cincinnati, Ohio border). I'm married for the second time to Ray:nervous, will be 5 years on October 5. I have a 3 year old son, Hunter:D, and I have 2 step kids, Lil Ray, 15 (not so little anymore-he's taller than his daddy) and Aubrey, 12. I work at Kohl's Department Stores as a Visual Specialist, which means I do all the store visual displays, graphics, and dress the mannequins. I have the best job in the store, and I've been there for 13 years in September. So I have a great job, a great family life, a great personal life, but I've always been lacking in one area of my life. Bet you can't guess what it is??!!?? Yes, the dreaded overweight life. Started long ago, but it ends here. I took the first step in a major renovation of myself. My next year or two will be spent taking care of myself once and for all. I have a supportive DH who has not ever questioned my decision, but looks at me and tells me he loves me the way I am. I know this, and I don't expect him to love me more once I'm thin, but maybe I'll feel more desirable to him after the weightloss. I'm not looking for a better marriage, because I think it's great now, but I'm sure I'll find a little more 'spark for the fire' if you know what I mean. That's me in a nutshell. It's great getting to know each and everyone of you as we are all different in many ways, but are the same and forever bonded together in this 'weightloss victory:clap2:'.

Gee, Sunny, not to mention any names huh,LOL. I'm getting better, and I've been out of the house. dmtjet, haven't seen Laurend post in a day or two. Wrangler, way to go on the loss. Heading to bed, nite all.
-
dmtjet, the only way I can post to many people at once is to write it all down on a post it note, and then type it out. I put the name down, and then something refering to what I want to type. That's the only way I can do it.
-
BTW, tomorrow is Friday so don't forget to get your stats into Laurend tomorrow so she can put your weight changes in for the week.
-
Hope to hear from our 7/12 Bandsters soon, and that they are doing great. Good Luck to Trystell, our only 7/13 Bandster tomorrow!!!
-
Sunny, that was Dini that said that about the $10 for every pound. Wonder where she's been today? Maybe she had a day off and is having a nice evening out with Adam. But then it's actually 2:15am her time, so maybe it went well and they're home now!!!
-
MsPris, congrats on getting the date moved up. WOW, only 4 more days for you. You can get unflavored protein powder just like the vanilla and chocolate, but you use it in your puddings, yogurt, soups, cottae cheese, anything you want really. I bought the Jay Robbs at a local store but you can find it on line also at Jayrobbs.com. If you google unflavored protein powder, you'll find hundreds of manufactures. I've been told to get the Whey isolate powder as it's the purest and something about the way your body absorbs it (or doesn't) but it's supposed to be the best for after surgeries like this according to my Dr. If you use this in your snacks and meals, it help you have that full feeling longer. mommamiranda, does Mexico have the hurrican season like the Carribean?? I've never been there so I don't know.
-
mommamiranda, are you putting any unflavored powder into your clear broths, water, etc? This will help you out. Phyl, have a great trip up north. We'll miss you around here.
-
Chimboree, I haven't heard from Dini all day, and after checking on Breadlady's last post (June 29) I ended up sending her a PM:phanvan. Hope everything is ok. I'll let you know if I hear anything. I've been using my Lucky 7 calendar and highlighting all the names that have come back to post. 14 are MIA from July 2 to July 10.:cry Sunny, you be in Bandland soon. I'll save some mushy's for you!! Felicia's back:clap2:. Great to hear you're doing well. Keep it up, it's gets better everyday.

Hi Sunny, what have you been up to???
