Cazulay, I do hope to purseude(sp) my sister into doing something about her weight, but not by my mouth, but by my overall results. We both grew up with same mother in the house, and we're both fed large portion meals while my mother had salads and low cal stuff for meals. We both suffered, and both have tried many of things to get the weight off. Hopefully she'll see how it's working for me, supportive or not, and maybe then it will motivate her to do something. She has a family, DH, and 2 kids at home, so she has a lot to gain from it too. This is what I want her to see. If she opens up her eyes and heart, she'll know there is a better life out there for her, and I'll be her biggest supporter!!

Welcome Chris45. You are not the only male in our group. Danny drops in every now and again. He's great. We welcome the testosterone to group with open arms. Just ignore al the estrogen comments we make, which aren't a lot, but you know, we are mainly women. So how much has your wife lost with the by pass? You'll have your own built in support group at home too, so that will be nice!! Welcome JulyBander. We have a great group here, lots of support pre and post surgery. You'll love it as we do. Kathybad, my fingers are crossed for your trip. Let us know if all is a go. peaches, isn't it funny how an egg tastes so good after all the liquids!!

Who was it that was talking about 'grits' earlier this week? I just had my first bowl, took 45 minutes to eat it all, so I'll let you know how it goes. I think I'm going to take my hour walk today. It's still kind of cool out, so it shouldn't be to bad.

Sounds like everyone is cleaning house today. dmtjet, my DH and your DH could be twins. Mine is a clown too, even when I need him to be serious about something. Chim, hope your sleep study goes well tonight. You're in the final stretch now. Sunny, how do you live with your mother after all that.

Good Morning to all my fellow Banders!! Feeling better today about the family situation. I've consider my mother to be anything but supportive my whole life, so it's not suprising for her to do this. My sister on the other hand, is a different story. She is overweight, maybe jealous as she hasn't even asked me how I've felt except for day I got our of the hospital. Neither my mother or sister has asked how much weight I've lost, and I refuse to tell them, unless they ask me first. I've just decided that even though I feel like I was harassed about my weight all my life by my mother, that now even though I've chosen to take control over it doesn't mean she is now going to change her ways or how she treats me. This is only the first of many things I see her doing, and only the first birthday that has passed since my banding date, so in September, we'll see if anything different with my nephews birthday. My sister and I haven't been real close. She lives directly acrossed the street from my mother, so they are very close. I'm not jealous of this, I'd KILL myself if I lived that close to my mom. My sister depends on my mom to help her run the kids around, get dinner on the table for her family, etc. I don't need my mom like this, and I think she'd like me to need her that way too, but we're in 2 different states (only 20 minutes drive time) It's going to be intersting to see if anything is said later on about this. For now, my son thinks Ally is sick and they canceled the party. What else am I supposed to tell him. It' not like they'll be rescheduling, they've already had it!! I hate to notice all the bad mothering, or shall I say lack of proper mothering we've had around this group. It's a shame. I'm sure the next generations will have so much less pressure than we did, becaue we've been there,so that is at least a benefit of all of this,if that is what you can call it. Hunter will be fine today, I will make sure of it. He has a great mother, and I'm going to take him to the water park today if it warms up. Hopefully he'll forget all about it. Welcome Biggest Loser. We have a great support group here. Have to ask, are you a fan of the Bigest Loser show?? I actually sent a tape in to try and get on the show in January, 2006. Of course, it didn't happen, but I still love the show. MsPris, hope your appointment with your surgeon goes well on Thursday. Keep us posted on your recovery. dieka, hang in there. You can do this. There is nothing that will taste as good as you will feel when you get on that scale and see a loss.

Well all, that's probably about it for me tonight. TGIF, and the weekend is here. I'll check in and see how everyone is tomorrow, of cousre, and everyone have a great night.

Thanks Sunny, I figured I had to be missing something. It is crazy to sit here and figure out exactly where you need to edit with all the smiley faces on there. Makes my eyes hurt. dmtjet, talking about eyes, I had lasic eye surgery 5 years ago. Up until Lap Band surgery I always said it was the best money I ever spent, now it's the second best, but I still see better than 20/20.

dmtjet, love the Bandaliers comment. Where did he get that one,LOL. PrincessWillow, very well put. I'm spending a lot more time playing with my 3 year old, as I have a lot more enegy!! NewCC, I know you asked nurse76 this, but I thought I'd tell you what I found too. I got papaya enzymes at Walmart. They are chewables, and taste great!! Hi Sunny, and anyone else still around. Laurend, I got a good one for you that you'll appreciate hearing. At least you've been invited out for dinner with your family , even it you get harassed about what you're eating. Today I took my niece and nephew out with my son. I heard they went out to eat for my nieces birthday Wednesday night. I guess I wasn't invited this year, as they do this every year, because 'I can't eat". I also heard her say they 'celebrated' which means cake, ice cream, presents, the whole party thing. I guess they think I can't put nothing into my mouth now. So I ended up giving her her birthday present today, and the whole party thing this weekend isn't going to happen. What stinks is I've been telling my 3 year old that we'll be going to Ally's birthday party this weekend, when in reality, they've already had her party. Now isn't that a crock. At least they could of invited my family, even if they thought I 'couldn't eat'. But no, we were all left out this year. Kinda hurts in a way, just like the hurt you feel when your dad gets on you. I guess it will just take a little bit to get used to all the bad that comes with the good.

Wrangler, I don't crush mine, they've been going down very well. This could change once I get a fill, but I've been doing pills since the day of surgery, I just break them in half. I'll be back on a little later, just got home, and Hunter wants to play in his sand box before dark, so outside we go!!

Yes, I take a Multivitamin every day. I just sent you a PM for the directions for the ticker. I'm getting ready to go out and I wanted to make sure you had it incase you wanted to try it again.
-
I use the isolate powders, they are better absorbed by the body. I have chocolate, vanilla and unflavored. The chocolate and vanilla I use to make my shakes and add in fruits, peanut butter, cinnamon, etc. The unflavored I use to add to soups, puddings, cottage cheese, applesauce, etc. I blend them with my shakes, and just stir it into other foods.
-
lainy, I can help you with the ticker at the bottom. I can PM you the directions to get it if you want. You may want to ask Dini if she ever found the powders. I know there are tons of websites that sell them, just don't know if they ship over there or not. They are good to have. I wouldn't know what to do without it now.
-
lainy, I know Dini is in Ireland and was having a hard time finding the protein powders. Do you have them there?
-
You can edit your posts, but when you hit on the edit key, you'll get a screen with everything you typed out, but a smiley face will be inbetween each letter. Makes it hard to change anything you need to.
-
Lainy, I can't remembe so refresh my memory, are you in the UK??
-
I hate our edit option on this forem, it sucks!!!
-

Christy

Maybe you just need to cut it up real good, and add some broth or something else to it to keep it moist, like making the salad. Or ad dsome cheese or cream of chicken soup on top of it, something with moisture.

-
Marcy, how you doing?? A pringle?? OH that sounds so salty and good right now. But I think I had enough salt today already. Took my son to a pizza playland, and I couldn't have anything but the cheese off the pizza with a little sauce. Wow, I've not wanted water to drink while eating yet, but I was ready to down 20 ozs after the salty taste of the cheese.
-
Christy, you just weren't meant to eat chicken, unless it out of a can!! I feel you pain, as I was there 3 days ago, but I'm glad you are better. Wished mine had ended that quickly, but it is so scary when you're in the midst of it. Lainy, lad you are feeling better. I've heard stories about the bad breath syndrom. I think it gets better though. Get some of those pocket strips, you can pop them in whenever you're getting ready to head out the door into public. Hopefully it is just something that will pass too. Snaggletooth, great to hear from you. Down 20 lbs, that's awesome. You're doing great!! Cazulay, hang in there, it's probably just the hunger or nerves talking. It gets better, and you'll see after surgery, that it will all be worth it!! NewCC and iluvmyboys, welcome to the lucky 7's. PrincessWillow, welcome back. You must have stopped in before because we have you on our calendar for July 10. Hope you are doing well.
