    Need Help!

I am 10 months out. I eat a lot of protein but add in fruits and veggies. Every morning a eat a banana/strawberry smoothie or small yogurt. I notice that I don't lose much weight for the week or month if I have eaten bread products or potatoes. If I go back to just eating meat, fruits and veggies, I will drop again. I would be happy to give you recipes for food options if you need help. Just send me a message.

    IBS & VSG

It could quite possibly be IBS but it also could be caused by an allergy to something you are eating regularly. It could be a dairy thing. I am 10 months out and I have a similar problem when I have dairy. If you are really concerned you need to sit down with your primary care physician and make him/her hear your concerns. That is what they are there for.

    10 months

I had my surgery almost 10 months ago. Will be on the 16th. When I started my journey I weighed 390 pounds. When I weighed in yesterday, 245 pounds!!! I feel amazing! I never thought I would ever be back to this size. It is wonderful to go into a normal store( like Walmart) and buy clothes off the rack. I used to buy through a magazine. I still lose about 2 pounds a week.

    10 months

I am very proud. It will happen and come off but it isn't easy. Watching my friends and family go places that I can't eat at, is more challenging farther out. I have learned to say "no" going through a fast food line. I thought, about 2 months ago, that I would just order some chicken nuggets, how bad could it be? Well it can be bad. I got sick and it was very painful digesting. I don't do that anymore. Lol.

I am 10 months post op and I still have emotional times. Not so much mood swings but I cry for no apparent reason.

    HELLO EVERYONE!

The pain I had was not as bad as having my gall bladder removed. I will tell you to make sure you stay hydrated and drink like they recommend. I got to the point that water made me nauseous so I got really dehydrated 3 weeks after and ended up in hospital for 2 days

    HELLO EVERYONE!

Going back to work depends on the job you do. I ran a daycare at the time and went back in 2 weeks with little assistance

    Spouse dought!

I had trouble with my husband before the surgery. I was on the 6 month diet plan before surgery like most people. He would go to McDonald's or some other place like that and bring home food. He was very angry that I had started the process. Even up until the month before my surgery, he refused to meet my doctor. My support system was my best friend and parents by phone. I had my surgery on May 16, 2012 and files for divorce in July. I hope things work out better for you. Just explain to her that its this surgery or a funeral because that is where I was headed. Obesity is not something that is easy to change but this surgery can help. This is also not an easy fix so you will need support to overcome it.

    New To The Group

I have just joined this group but my sleeve journey started back in October. I had my gallbladder removed last August and found out that my insurance might pay 100% of weight loss surgery if I follow a certain program and meet the criteria. In October, my family doctor referred me over to a surgeon and I had my first apoointment with Jim Valentine in November. I think it was one of the best decisions I have made in a while. Today is my 8 year anniversary and tomorrow is the day my life will officially change. I am having the surgery on May 16, 2012. I am very scared and nervous but ready for this change.

    Super Depressed :(

I am sorry that you are feeling bad about yourself. I know how you feel which I am sure that most of us do. You need to keep you chin up. I thought that the 6 months seemed like an eternity. I was ready to get this surgery and be on with my life. I have just ended my 6 month time frame and headed for surgery tomorrow. The 6 months will go by faster than you think. I hope you start to feel better.
