Cool, what insurance do you have? I have united healthcare. Thats great that your insurance will cover the tummy tuck. If my insuance dont, then i will have to just pay for it. I may only need the Panniculectomy though.

Post-Op Sleeve - What's Going On Here? Part 2
Sweetpea1 commented on MacSleever's blog entry in MacSleever's Blog
Hello, I didnt hear anything about your protein drinks. That pain in your thigh is from dehydration. you need to drink at least 64 oz of water a day, just sip by sip. You must get the protein in to help you heal and save your muscle mass. That is very important. Make sure you are doing some kind of walking , even if its just around the house from room to room so that you dont develop blood clots. That water and protein is VERY VERY IMPORTANT IN THE HEALING PROCESS. I know you can do it! Good Luck! -

Sweetheart, you are completely being too hard on yourself. you will get the stalls from time to time but you will lose the weight. you are not a failure. I remember someone told me that this journey is like a huge stairwell. on your way to the top, (weightloss) your body has to rest in between. your body is tryin to adjust to your new lifestyle. you said that it will stall, then you will get a 4lb lost. your body has rested and then was able to decrease weigh because it recouped. just let it happen, it will. dont weigh yourself daily, only once a week. i was like that when i first came home, im now almost 9 weeks post op and i weigh in every week. make sure you do your walking. it will come off. dont worry about what you have told ppl. you are the only one to be impressed about your decision. keep the faith

YOU ARE SO RIGHT! the head hunger and the gas will make you feel like you are hungry. I was hungry after surgery because my head was hungry, not my stomach. I thought i was going crazy and i had to realize what was happening. it does get better and i am on prevacid for 3 months. the heartburn was devilish in when i started to eat real food, (1 month post op).

yes! kdippy, please stay strong because it can happen. I had to train my brain that i have to put healthy things in my body to get the results that i want. it is very hard and im glad that you realized it in time. you are used to having those things before and your mind is telling you that you still want them. i had a hard time about 2 weeks post op that i had to fight with my brain! lol, i think the change came when my cholesterol was 237 in dec and when i took it in april, it was 113! along with all of the rest of my bloodwork that used to be high, was no longer high. I really like that feeling and now im really careful what i eat. I had my surgery on march 30th and have lost 42 lbs in total, thats with preop diet included. YOU CAN DO IT! AND PLEASE DONT FORGET ABOUT EXERCISE! -
Im so excited! I wasnt suppose to weigh in until tomorrow but I just couldnt wait. I hadnt done any exercise last week and felt that I have been eatin a bit more than usual, so I just couldnt resist getting on the scale this morning to see if id at least lost 1 lb. I couldnt believe what the scale said,,, 5lbs! I got on the scale about 6 times to be sure it was correct! lol, I havent been eatin bad things, just more food in general. Ive had fish and egg whites for breakfast, fish or chicken breast for lunch and dinner, with fruits in between meals. I didnt drink much protein drink this week but I made sure I was having protein with every meal. I tryin to get all my water in but sometimes it doesnt work. I hope im getting too much protein, Does anyone know how much is too much?

Learning To Eat Again And Very Slow Weight Loss
Sweetpea1 replied to Grateful05's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
You seem to be right on schedule, you should be in the transformation to reg foods. if you are having trouble, try pureeing them for a while, but you have to get to them. Listen to your body but please get them in. I was eating reg foods 1 month out, its only a lil but im eating. -
Learning To Eat Again And Very Slow Weight Loss
Sweetpea1 replied to Grateful05's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
You really do need to start getting your protein in any way that you can. try the high protein shakes from Bariatric Advantage! They are great and have 27 grams of protein in an 8oz cup. They have all different flavors, i have the banana and just recently bought the strawberry and its great!., im 7 weeks out and i still take the shakes even though im eating protein all day. if i dont have a shake for breakfast, im eating a piece of fish, or chicken. i make sure that i get the protein in. i am having a bit of trouble getting all my 64 oz in but i hope that the decaf tea that i drink helps with that. You will get used to it but try to eat something maybe softer, you have to eat to lose weight. Your body is in shock right now and its gonna hold on to the fat if you dont reteach it. The stall is normal and you will get pass that. Good luck to you and If you need any further advice, let me know. -

Hello, Im also 6 weeks out, how the heck did you lose 95lbs in 6 weeks? lol. Ive lost a total of 37lbs with pre-op but only 24 post op. Now im getting discouraged! lol boo-hoo
-
Lol, i totally agree with you when you say your head wants and what your stomach can hold is two different things! That is so true! I too, think its really weard. I have been eating a certain way for so long that I know I cant eat like that but my head is telling me that I want ALL of it. Lol. Im not surprised at all when I take a few bites and I say, Im full. lol. I love my sleeve though, Im 6 weeks out and I am still getting used to it. It is truly weird!
-
Lol, yes it does get better. Im also a drinker and im used to drinking while eating. Im 6 weeks post op and i have gotten passed that because i dont like the feeling of puttin water on top of the food id just eaten. I will make me miserable! Besides that, i want to get full off of the food so that I may stay full longer. Hang in there!
