Is It At All Possible To Drive The Day After Surgery?
ljperez replied to lucky8mb1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Idk about your hospital but they would not release me here in Boston unless I had a ride the pain meds are still in your system. Honestly I wouldn't have wanted to drive. I just wanted to get home my eyes were closed the whole time. -
Good luck you will do just fine. Like everyone says. Walk walk walk. It's tough but it pays off.

My Fellow 9/4 (Or Last Week) Sleevers - How Are You Doing ?
ljperez replied to Odee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How's everyone doing? I've been stalling and gaining. I've also noticed its getting harder to eat. It gets to the point were I don't even care about food anymore. Drinking is fine. I'm only down 31 lb since 9/5. I've been stuck there give or take a couple lbs for 3 weeks. I'm down 48lb since my highest. I exercise 6 days a week, don't know how I'm getting the energy. I only eat about 600-700 cal a day. My hair is fine so far I was afraid to say that. I hope it doesn't start now. Would love to hear about sleevers on or around my date. -
Don't try so hard. Do you. This is what this journey is all about. I've been having many personal issues family members that think I'm being selfish for having the surgery. This is how I've just now started to realize how much I did and am backing off. They are all starting to come around slowly. It's not over it's still very hard and you will get depressed which seems so stupid because you should be so happy with your weight loss but we have all been a little messed up in the head for many years. Thats why we gained the weight in the first place. The VSG helped me realize that. I try to remind myself all the time. Don't let things bother you just focus on your weight loss and she wants it she will come around. If not your going to look great and there's another one coming. LOL

Am I The Only One Who Started To Hate The Taste Of Water?
ljperez replied to SweetSaso's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I thought it was just me. I have had this problem ever since surgery. The only time I can drink plain water is first thing in the morning and it has to be ice cold. Otherwise I am using Crystal light Rasberry lemon flavor or just lemon and it goes down fine. I always have them in my purse my car on my desk everywhere. -
Anything techno. I love it it makes me move so much better on my workouts.

I'm up 2 lbs this week. I'm 10 weeks out and went up 2 lbs this week. I never believed stressed caused weight gain but I think so. I'm averaging no more than 700 cal a day between 50-70g of Proteins I do struggle with Water its just the timing things out that screws me up. My carbs. have only been over 30 a couple of times but I've been going through some crap. I just wish I would've waited to have the surgery. I did post before the surgery with second thoughts and wanting to cancel because the family wasnt very supportive. Well now I really wished I waited. I'm 21/2 months out was down 31 lbs now 29 and i'm stressing about only having 6-8 months of restriction. I stalled for 2 weeks now up 2. This is crazy I've been working out running walking cardiovascular weights everything. Anyone go through stress and still loose.

Thanksgiving Day Challenge
ljperez replied to AKSleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm out. I tried and I'm sure I'm going to fail. Taking this pressure off me. First challenge ill try for the next one. -
9 weeks out feeling worse. I should be happy but I'm not. I feel like I miss my fat. (Not that I'm skinny). I just miss the old me. I'm not as strong and family is giving me a hard time. I feel like I just want to be alone all the time and sleep. I push myself because I have to. I know I only have 6-8 months before my sleeve slows down or stops whatever it is but its a strugle every day. I feel so stupid. I can't seem to even except a compliment I brush it all off. I'm working out, that clears my head but as soon as I'm done it comes back. Even though I've always been overweight I have always worked out so this is not different. I'm down a total of 48 lb 35 since surgery. I feel like I'm going to fail all the time. I do speak to a therapist once a week for anxiety but this is so different. I've talked to her about it but I thought you guys might be feeling the same way and it might just be part of the process.

Can't Shake The Depression
ljperez replied to ljperez's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you everyone. I am glad I'm not alone. It's so hard to put into words the way I feel but I see you guys get it. It just feels like if I loose all the weight then I might put it back like always. It's so hard to think of how life will be without being able to hide behind the weight. I already see it with my boss giving me a gift card to macy's for 200.00 and is expecting me to come in looking like Barbie or something. I never realized how much I hid behind my weight. I am not an out front person I like to be alone. The family issue is another thing. I am trying to work on that but with 3 teenage girls that I have done everthing for and now want to do something for myself is really tough. Thanks again I love this sight. -
Not iceys but everything I drink has to have a ton of ice in it. I just keep added ice to whatever I'm drinking. I'm also switched my addiction from soda to ice coffee. I hated coffee before surgery but now I'm going crazy for it. I also have started adding 2 sugars in it. I justify it by refilling the same ice coffee all day with more ice. I'm 9 weeks out and have been stalling off and on. I just said I'm not going to buy another ice coffee starting tomorrow. Sounds like the old me all over again. I hope I can do it.

Any Boston, Ma Gastric Sleevers Out There?
ljperez replied to Tarada9's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm happy for you. Let the journey begin. Only great things from now on. -
I've been walking but haven't been back to the gym since surgery 9/5. Well I made it and it was tough almost 9 weeks without working out. It made me realize I can't stop ever again. I worked so hard before to reach fitness goals and now I'm so out of shape it hurts. Let's see how I feel tomorrow. hopefully not to bad.
