    Bye Bye Nicotone!

I also used nicotine free electronic cig ( http://www.smokingeverywhere.com/ ). Was a little more expensive than the ones you pick up in convenience stores. I used it for about 3 months before laying that down too.

    Bye Bye Nicotone!

I would do 10 situps every time I craved. Lost weight and quit at same time

    Bye Bye Nicotone!

3 years quit for me and cigs smell HORRIBLE! I cannot believe I ever allowed myself to smell like that! As long as your head is in it, the cravings, if you have them, are easy to deal with and fleeting. Congrats!
  5. I am a 15th'er. 4 days out now. Immediately after surgery and through the next day was not a walk in the park, but I survived. I found out that I am extra sensitive to Morphine which is the drip they had me on. Made me VERY weird. REALLY out of it and just feeling out of sorts. I would be in pain and push the button, the have to sit up with a basin swallowing hard trying not to vomit for about 5 minutes. Then the nausea would stop finally, and the pain would ease, but it just kept me "weird". My gas was right at my diaphragm, which made swallowing challenging, but I managed and I walked the halls about 3 times on Monday, once on Tuesday. Tuesday I just paced my room mostly, and slept. They brought me lime jello, which I hate the flavor, some chicken broth, which smelled burnt (and I still can't figure that one out) and some 50/50 water/apple juice...ding, ding, ding....that was the winner. They said I had to get 2 medicine cups worth of any of them down within one hour and I could leave. Took me 1/2 hour Called the nurse, they called for a wheelchair. Once I was home, I took the liquid Lortab and did SOOOOO much better. I walked laps around the inside of the house The "weird" wore off quickly and I started to feel MUCH better. Gas pains still at my diaphragm made it challenging to swallow, and Wednesday I didn't quite get all of the liquids in, though I did get my protein, vitamins and meds in. Yesterday was MUCH better still...gas pains subsided and I am now getting all liquids, protein, vitamins and meds in. Belly is tender and bloated, and VERY itchy at the 5 incisions! But I am quite pleased and doing well now.

    October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves

I think that will be an ongoing thing for awhile. Mine hasn't stopped rumbling at all and I'm not hungry either. A fellow coworker of mine had her sleeve last December and said her tummy will still rumble from time to time without being hungry...though it is not constant anymore

    Bm Question

Thanks for all of the replies. WOW...more than one week! I do have different stool softeners and constipation aids just in case, but that is not the case so far. Sounds like I am normal I am making some very LOUD bowel sounds this evening, which would make sence since I plan to go to the Carolina Renaissance Festival tomorrow. The day I have nothing but porta-johns will be the day I will start with screaming diarrhea, right? lol Will not stop me though...I have season passes to the festival and do not want to waste a single day

Be careful with whatever you use. If you have steri-strips, it can make them come off early and if you are dermabonded, it can react with the glue. Just placing something cool on the area will help relieve the itch temporarily I take a cold drink can or cold soup can and just lay it on mine.
  9. What would you say is the oz of fluid content in 1 SF popcicle or 1 SF jello cup?
  10. I knew that any liquid counted towards daily intake. Thankfully, I am not having trouble with protein or liquids I was just curious as to how much non-measured liquids I was also getting Thank you. I was guessing around 2-4 ozs.

If you are still taking the narcotic painkiller they give you to take at home, try using just Children's Tylenol instead. That narcotic will make you very tired and lazy. Some people also just have a hard time shaking the anesthesia for a few days. I didn't start having any energy at all until this afternoon. I haven't taken the lortab until just a few minutes ago to help me sleep tonight. Also, the more fluids and protein you get in, the more energy you will have. Good luck. I know you can do it
  13. Not sure about your docs, but mine said if you can't sip it through a straw, it is not liquid. So I couldn't have the pudding or yogart. Just something you might want to ask your doc
  14. By the 4th day, the headaches clear and the fogginess lifts. I had a hard time concentrating those 1st few days. It does get easier. Just remember, if you DO cheat, try to pick something that is high Protein and low carb, no or low sugar too. I did cheat some...ate weight watchers string cheese a couple of times and some chicken breast strips (grilled). Dr. V said my liver was small and surgery was easy on me so it looked like I had followed the rules

    Unjury

I only add about 1/2 scoop of the unflavored to my flavored waters and such (32 oz bottle). Too much does change the flavor some.
  16. I am home, tired and sore. Feel like a sumo wrestler kicked me in my belly My gas pains come and go and are centered right at my diaphragm which kind of sucks...makes burping painful, but then gives great relief So far today, I have gotten about 10 ozs of water and about 10 ozs of a protein shake. Trying to dutifully take a sip every 5 minutes or so of one or the other. Managed to get all of my meds down too. I am periodically pacing around the house for 15-20 minute intervals which is definitely helping with the gas. The morphine in the hospital kicked my butt. Made me nauseated every time I hit the button, so therefore, did not hit that button unless I could not stand it any longer. They finally let me do the liquid Lortab which was much better. I've only taken 2 1/2 doses of it here at home. It knocks me out, so I get in less fluids and protein if I take it. I feel the pain is better than not getting in what I need. I think I am going to take a nap now. Been up for about 3 hours and am pretty tired. Hoping all of my fellowing 15th'ers are hanging in there.
  17. Strangely calm this morning, which is nice. Surgery is at 7:30am. Weight this morning is 209. See you on the losers bench. Prayers for all of us today

    Unjury

I use the unflavored Unjury in my water flavored with MIO liquid. Figure I will get my water and some protein at the same time this way I also add it to soups.

    **help**

Try adding broth to meats and drier foods. This helps with not having to have a drink of something 30 minutes post meals. I absolutely cannot have a drink near me when I eat or I will sip from habit. My surgery is Monday, but feel I accomplished this very hard task about a month ago. It has been a learning curve for sure

    Pre-Op Liquid Diet

Are you mixing it with water or skim milk? I find I like any of the chocolate powders better with the milk
  21. kmoore

    This Is It! :d

I'm so sorry you are still in so much pain. Lortab is a narcotic, what else do they have you on? Hope the pains go away soon. Saying prayers for you.
  22. I'm BMI of 38 and am on the same 2-week full liquid diet as all of my doc's patients are put on. By day 4, the body does adjust. I had headaches by noon the 1st 3 days, felt VERY fuzzy and could NOT concentrate at all. By day 4, no headache and the fog lifted! I have a shake made with skim milk breakfast, lunch and dinner. I eat SF jello for snacks and sometimes will make chicken or beef broth for something hot and NOT sweet Also, I got the unflavored Unjury protein powder and add 1/2 scoop to my 32oz water bottle with Orange/Tangerine MIO flavoring to sip on all day. I usually drink 3 of these (32oz each) every day. I think this has gone a long way at helping me not to be so hungry Hope you can find a way to work it to where your migraines go away. It does get better though...the body will adjust
  23. Wow...I found it the other way around...the heavier people I told were the most supportive. Go figure.
