A big hello to all. First of all I must apologize for not being on the forum in months. Some of you might remember my journey began over a year ago and today is my 1 year anniversary of my surgery. To sum it up I am doing great! I have lost a total of 90 pounds and still have 20 more to go. I am disappointed that I did not reach my goal within a year but it is my fault. Take note to everyone you can never go back to eating the junk we ate before our surgery. When they say it is a lifestyle change they mean it. Old habits started to creep back in and it has been a battle. Also, don' do what I did and not get onto the forum site. I think my problems started when I stopped reading what was happening to others. But I do apologize to my friends and will stay in touch. Some of you might remember I was one of the few who had a bad experience with my surgery, but to put it honestly, I would do it over again if I had to just to be who I am today. I will try to post a picture of me but I am not computer savvy lol. Until later God Bless you and hopefully I will hear from some of my old and dear friends.

Ope everyone is doing great. Well if anyone has followed my story it began eight weeks ago. I wanted to let you know that my bandages came off yesterday and I am finally healed. Stomach has nasty scars but I am well and that is the main thing. Thank you to all who send encouraging words through my scary ordeal.

Sounds just like me so keep me posted. I am at about 600 calories per day and dinner seems to be a write off. If I just pick at dinner and walk away then I am okay but if I try to eat my dinner then everything comes right back up. I don't understand why as I make sure to measure everything out.

Thanks Joni. I will keep you posted. New hope I am on solid foods and that is what I can not keep down ugg. I have my protein drink with a piece of fruit for breakfast. Lunch is cold meat with salad. Dinner is meat with veggies. Oh in the afternoon I have 1/2 of a protein drink so I am not too full at dinner. That is basicly my food intake. I will try that site and see if there is any advice that they can give. Thank you so much both of you. You mean a lot to me.

New hope I hear you.lol. My butt did too lol thanks so much.

By the way what is retried beans? We don't have that here.

Hi Joni I just ordered the unjury and calcium citrate so yes I will try it. I am so tired of being sick and hungry. And I am not even loosing weight. It just does not make sense to e. I don't just sit behind a desk all day I am running at my job all the time. Very frustrating. My doctor is away until sept so as soon as I can get in I am going to ask him about a nut even if I have today myself. I really need some positive right now lol. Big hug.

Okay I tried to have a protein drink for dinner with some fruit. It did not work and I barely slept the night due to empty feeling in stomach. I can honestly say I am ready to give up.
-
I hear you but what choice do we have. I am trying it but my brain is saying "no dinner?"

Katie 713 You are right I would be lost honestly without all the care I have received from you guys. It's like having an extended family and we have to lean on one another. Advice always helps along with different ways to try. Big hug

New hope that is exactly the same for me. I think I will go to my protein drink at dinner instead of food perhaps with a little fruit. Yes it has been a horrible eight weeks but hope it will get better. How long has it been for you? Do you work too?

Thanks chuckles how are you doing? Would love to hear your story. Have a great day. I am off to work now. Late again lol

Correlation Between Menopause And Weight Loss?
Kat1 replied to Katie713's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Joni and new hope I agree. I would be happy with 2-3 lobs per week and to eat healthy. I noticed a big change after going through menopause. What metabolism do we still have that lol -
Hi new hope I am finally healed but now have new scars lol. I am glad that is over. Eight weeks. Still having difficulty keeping food down especially by dinner time. I am at a stall. I don't have a nut up here so I am relying on my dear friends on the site to guide me. I am up and down. My emotions seem to be all over the board. Especially with not loosing. I keep looking at tomorrow though with hopes that it will be better. How are you doing?

Hi Andrea 8967 Thank you so much for your kind words. Congratulations and way to go keep it up! That is nice to hear the weight loss. How are you finding eating? Any tips you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I am feeling much better and am getting to the end of the packing possibly tomorrow. Yippee seven weeks of h... Done and gone. The scars will be horrible they said but I don't care I will have them with pride knowing that this infection could have killed me if it was not caught in time and for that I will always be thankful. Now maybe I can get my head in gear and concentrate on my new stomach and what I am suppose to be doing. Stay in touch and again thanks. Kat

Hi new hope Sure hope you had a wonderful vacation. I wondered where you were. This week I am doing much better., still have to go get my packing changed three times a week but am getting closer to the end. They figure possibly that this will be my last week of nursing. But I will be left with a nasty scar and hole or dip in my stomach. They said if it bothered me I could have skin grafting as it looks like a bullet hole lol. I told them no way. Only my husband will see it and it will continue to remind me why I went through all this and hopefully stay on track. I am still having difficulty with food and are trying to get my protei in but that is hard. I am still napping when I get home from work but I do walk for at least fifteen minutes per day. Trying this week to do 1/2 hour. It is 7 weeks today since my surgery so hopefully I am on the way up lol. How are you doing? Was it hard being on vacation? Are you eating okay? Fill me in on what has been happening to you. Until the Hugs Kat

Since I came home which is 6 weeks I have only lost 30 lbs. I am still having trouble so that probably has something to do with the weight loss. Remember just because I had a bad experience does not mean that you will. -
Reviewing Mds In Mexico And Facilities

I had my surgery on June 11th. I went down with a cashiers cheque for the 5000 and only put my deposit on visa. I wish I would have paid the balance after surgery to make sure I had the care I had paid for, but I gave it to them the first night I arrived at the hotel. They were there for the money . I will pray for you that everything goes perfect for you. I think if dr. Garcia needs to be more hands on with the staff he hires. But that is my opinion. Keep writing and I will try to answer any questions you may have. Hug to you. Kat -
