Thanks new_hope and sandy Please keep me in your prayers as my sense of humor is surely gone. Getting to the point where I just don't know what to say if anything. With so many positive outcomes it is so hard to stay strong. Thanks again Kat

Thanks girls I wish I had been checked and told how to clean my incisions too.lol. Now it is costing me more after seeing the surgeon again today with. O freezing she cut away more tissue and I have to go to Von 2 times per day to have it repacked. She said it could take another month. I was praying so hard that my experience would have been a good one. Seems all I do lately is cry. Was my decision a good one? I can't answer that right now. Can't see beyond the pain lol. Thank you for your kind words. Please keep writing. I wish someone else with a bad experience would come forward just to let everyone know that it DOES happen. Kat

Hi NannieG No insurance paid for the surgery. I paid out of pocket. The surgeon here says complications can arise anywhere.

Hi Oregon The surgery was in Mexico by Dr. Garcia. It was the lack of care after them surgery.

Hi Joni As of now it is going to take 6 weeks for this to heal. I see the surgeon who opened me up tomorrow morning. It is miserable the constant pressure of the packing and dressings. Not to mention the constant twice daily of cleaning it out even though they freeze it first. Then trying to function In between ugg. I have lost the smile off my face. Thanks for your kind words they mean a lot. Stay in touch. Kat

Today is two weeks and am down 18 lbs. did not loose anything today nor gain so I guess that is okay. I am having a hard time getting the vLorie in. So sick of soup etc lol. I get my dressings changed twice a day along with the packing so that is gettingme down. No swimming for the whole summer which I just love. Anyways wanted to say hi and you have been on my mind. I'm No Longer An Emotional Eater
Kat1 replied to Writergirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks for encouraging people like myself who are emotional eaters. My prayers are with you and your family. -
Sorry to hear this legend. I think that is the number one fear all sleeves have. Have you tried going on the liquid diet for two weeks to see if it will jump start your bodyorretrainingyour body again. I read where if you try this that sometimes it works. If you need someone to talk to I am here. Personally, I know I need the support from fellow VS to get through this. Send me a private message too if you want. I'm here.

Oh the name of the hospital wasMi hospital which the locals call a clinic. So is it a hospital or clinic I do not know.

Thanks Joni and tjmom To say this has been an experience from you know where is putting it mildly. My family doctor called today to say I brought back a bacteria which attacks the organs if not caught in time with this special antibiotic so I am leaving shortly to go back to the hospital to get this. I just came home from having my dressings changed which was so painful as they pull out this packing. The nurse was so great though. My daughter came with me and almost passed out when she seen the wholes lol. All she said to me after was "mom you are truly the best, I can't imagine going through what you are with no pain medication and being so brave". I just chuckled and sang Kelly clarkson's song "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger". We both laughed until the next bump she drove over lol. Big hugs KT

Than you It was mi hospital in Tijuana Mexico

Hi Sisilian Thank you so much. I am home now and under care here. Hurting puppy to say the least. But that is today. What makes me sad is 1) the delay in healing now that I will miss the whole summer of swimming. And 2) the lack of care given to me in Mexico. I just don't want anyone to go what I went through. Thanks for listening very emotional.

Well I have to say this and get it off my chest. My Mexico experience was just mot right. When I was moved from the hospital to the hotel no one checked my incisions after. I noticed when I left the hospital that they were extremely red but thought they were the professionals and I guess this is normal. I was all alone. Promises were made that someone would be there to keep me company if I wanted it or someone would be checking up on me. Wrong. No one checked up on how my incisions were doing. Well I am paying for this lack of service now. What was thought as redness turned out to be a horrible infraction. Yesterday which was 10 days after surgery the surgeons without freezing ended up opening my incisions two of them, taking out the inside and outside stitches and packing the incisions. Now I have to go two times per day to have this changed. I can not tell you the excruciating pain I have been in. So please be aware! Especially if traveling alone.

June Sleever's Compilation - Good Luck & Well Wishes
Kat1 replied to MinaT's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well everyone it is hard to believe that it is almost 2 weeks post on Monday. Unfortunately due to not having anyone check up on me while I was recovering in Mexico I ran into a terrible infection which is under control now. So if you are going alone be sure that someone from the hospital is checking up on you. I was left alone from Wednesday until I flew home on Friday. Now I have a smile on my face but what a tough couple of weeks. -
Thanks Joni and Ssilian Now I have tto go to the hospital every morning for an antibiotic shot which burns like you can't imagine. There is a ball of infection which they actually grabed with the stitches and squeezed. Tomorrow I will know what the results of the swab show and they can put me on a antibiotic. Hopi g they don't have to drain this one spot. Yes I am down. This is not what I anticipated. Oh well. Trying to work at the office for a couple of hours but then am exhausted. Tomorrow I hope will be a better day. Good news I am down 8 lbs since Friday. Ssilian how are you doing today? Joni haven't heard from you are you okay.
