  1. Yeah!! Thanks for updating us - I read somewhere that broccoli was one of the toughest foods to eat - the fiber and the little pieces on the flowerette part. Glad you are able to get some other stuff down!
  2. Hi there, I can't speak from too much experience as I'm only three weeks out but not being able to get any water in for over a day sounds serious enough to warrant a call to your surgeon. I would recommend that.

    Week 4 Mushie/soft Food Ideas Needed.

    Just posted this to another thread. It has ricotta but mixed with spinach it's not really noticeable. You could also use cottage cheese instead of ricotta. Sauté fresh spinach in vegetable or chicken broth (I also threw in some garlic and shallot), when done add nonfat ricotta and a bit of Parmesan cheese and blend/purée with an immersion blender. Spread puréed mixture in bottom of a small casserole pan and cover with prepared spaghetti sauce (no sugar added) and top with a little more Parmesan cheese. Bake until bubbly. Good for the puréed or mushy stage. I also sometimes add in a small bit of prepared pesto to kick up the flavor a bit. Is a nice relief after all the sweet Protein shakes. My hubby says we'll use this recipe even after I back on regular food!

  5. I'm in the exact same boat - was losing about 2 pounds a day post-surgery, but the last four days have been 0 loss - 2 weeks out today, not totally discouraged, but worried what this means. I'm trying to stay in the "your body is doing what it needs" place but it's difficult, I have so much to lose, a stall this early is tough...
  6. I agree. For me counseling is essential. So much is changing already (just a week post-op) but having a therapist who can help me stay centered and process feelings about food, body image and the huge transformation I'm going through. Need a safe place to vent, be frustrated, sad, ect. Good luck to you!
