Normal! I started walking day 3. Just walk for like 15 minutes or so. Nothing big. Don't get yourself all worked up. Your going to sleep allllllll day! Enjoy it. If you find yourself still tired after a week or so I would say talk to your dr. You may want to try B12. Good Luck!

I'd say go with unflavored! I've wasted so much money on all these stupid flavors and couldn't stomach any of them. I brought unjury but am afraid to try it as I have been severely disappointed with all of the other brands I have. I'm thinking I am no longer going to try and make my shakes. I am planning on buy the pre-made shakes by EAS. Those seem to be the only protein shakes I can stomach that don't smell or look like s*it! Excuse my french. lol. I just can't with this protein requirement. SOOOOO over it! Ugh.

Frustrations With Body Image
TinaMari replied to Cindy H's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel the exact same way! I am down over 50lbs and thought I would at least be in a different size by now. But, no I'm not. I still fit in the same clothes and I'm like WTH is going on here. Like how much weight do I have to loose in order to drop a few dress sizes...? I also still see my horrid double chin which I HATE HATE HATE!!! Ugh. It wasn't until yesterday that I saw a little difference and I didn't see the difference in my body per say. I saw the difference in the way my clothes fit. I put on this one shirt that used to be tight in the upper arms that I could barely button up and yesterday it was totally loose! So, I guess that was my confirmation that I am loosing and I can see it. I just thought loosing 50lbs would bring me down to at least two dress sizes...Waaah~! -
Day Of Surgery Question
TinaMari commented on incontrol(almost)'s blog entry in incontrol(almost)'s Blog
I don't think its necessary. My surgery was at 730AM and I literally slept ALL DAY. I didn't fully wake up until around 3AM and even then I was super lethargic and forced myself to walk. Don't get me wrong I was in and out of consciousness but as far as fully up and about it took me a while. I actually would have felt bad if my friend would have stayed there all night with the way I was acting. lol. But, the decision is totally up to you! -

I too was sleeved on the 17th. I hope everything gets better for you! Take Care~! -
Before I was sleeved I read on here how everyone was talking about how slow you have to eat but I thought it was an exagerration... Um NOT! So, when does this eating very slowwwwwwwwwly and chew chew chew and only being able to take bites the size of a dime END!!!? I'm so sick of this. I mean it takes me forever to eat real food. It's sickening. Sometimes the food gets cold by the time I'm finished with it. Talk about aggravating!!!! BTW: I was sleeved July 17th just in case you need to know.

Out of curiosity, has anyone's PCOS dramatically improved or was eliminated after being sleeved? If so, approximately how long after being sleeved did you see the change? Also, how has the side effects (hirsutism, cysts, irregular menstruals, etc.) of PCOS improved for you?

Does Your Calcium Citrate Chew ...?
TinaMari replied to Piplula's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
What do they taste like? I've been looking for some in the store but can't seem to find any chewables. Right now I'm taking gummies but I want to convert to chewables. I feel like gummies have too much sugar. Idk. I'm just being paranoid. -
Exactly, How Did You Loose Weight...?
TinaMari posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Okay. So. I was sleeved July 17 and the weight is not "melting" off like I thought it would. lol. I mean I'm down like 18lbs since the 17th but I thought I would be down wayyyyyyy more. Am I being ridiculous or what? So, I just wanted to know exactly how did you post-op sleevers loose weight at a decent pace? I've been walking but I'm not sure if I should amp up my cardio or what. How much exercise were you doing? Or what type of plan did you have to melt the fat (lol)..? Also, did anyone ever not exercise and loose weight quickly? Thanks for sharing! -
When Did You Start Exercising
TinaMari replied to lil4heartz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

A Few Questions And Some Advise Needed...
TinaMari replied to TracyLynn's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
1. Once you've had the surgery, I think you can start strength training like a month after. That should eliminate some saggy skin. 2. I didn't poop AT ALL during my pre-op liquid diet. I was super annoyed by that. Dr. told me to take a stool softener. Which I did and it worked wonders!!! 3. I don't know much about the hair loss thing. I do agree with the above post it is all about nutrition. I've also heard you don't start losing your hair until month 3. To avoid massive amounts of hair loss, I was told to take your multi-vitamins everyday. Some people are told to take a slew of supplements such as Biotin, Calcium, magnesium etc. So I guess that wouldn't hurt either. 4. It could be normal. Some doctors do not requir a pre-op diet at all. But again, you should ask your doctor whether or not he/she requires one and if so how long will it be. The time lengths vary greatly. Some people only do 1 or 2 day(s) of a liquid diet the day before surgery. Others have to do 7 days. Others do two weeks. I've even heard of one person doing 4 weeks!!! Which is insane to me. But, the point is is that each doctor is different and requirements vary. As far as the alcohol. I definitely think you'll need to stay clear from that for a while. You need to focus on getting in all your nutrients through your food & supplements. You shouldn't waste calories on alcohol. I've also heard that your tolerance level for alcohol is completely different. Some people get totally wasted off of one drink! So, again the answers will vary. But I'm sure one day you'll be able to indulge in a nice alcoholic beverage! Good Luck~!! -
OMG I would DIE!!! Idk. My surgeon told me he is more lenient than other doctors. He said since I didn't have any trouble getting down liquids that I could move on to no restrictions. I am having trouble with chicken. Depending on how it's cooked, I can't seem to keep that down. Otherwise I'm fine with everything else. I definitely think its dr's preference. Which kinda blows !

Yay!!! Congrats~!!!

That's amazing!!! I have PCOS as well and although I actually never wanted a period I do understand how you feel. My main concern was whether or not I could have children when that time came. I am praying that the terrible side effects from my PCOS become more controlled as the weight melts off. My endocrinologist told me I would see a huge difference in the symptoms once I reached 50lb WL I'm at 49LB and have not see any difference. Prayerfully I will see a difference once I reach 65lb as well. This is so inspirational. Thank You!! P.S. Have you ever taken any supplements to try and regulate your periods (birth control, metformin, glumetza etc...)?
-
I think it depends on your digestive track. I was afraid to try lettuce. I thought it would be to hard to go down but its actually the opposite. I was sleeved on July 17th and I'm no longer have any restrictions in my diet. Just take small bites and chew very slowly! Good Luck~!!

My Advice To All Newly Post-Op Sleevers...
TinaMari replied to JimmyGotSLEEVED's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Makes sense. Thanks for the advice! -
Hi Everyone! I was sleeved on July 17th. Down 18lbs so far. I wish it was more but I'll take that. I've noticed that the more you weigh, the easier it is to drop the weight at a rapid pace. With that being said, for those of us who are under 250lbs weight loss is going to be a little more of a challenge. Don't give up just keep at it and you will prevail! (I have to tell myself this everyday). Good luck to you all~!!

My Advice To All Newly Post-Op Sleevers...
TinaMari replied to JimmyGotSLEEVED's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Question. Why should you start weight training as opposed to just flat out cardio? I've always been told to do cardio to loose the weight and after you loose is when you start weight training to tone... Something about lifting too much weight add muscle mass and slows down the weight loss. Is this accurate? Also, when do you think it is appropriate to start ab workouts... crunches, situps, etc!? I don't want to hurt my tummy but the majority of my weight is in my midsection so I need to do something quick! -
I am happy to report that I am free of diabetes!!!!!!!! Hallelujuah. Thank you Jesus!!!! I just came back from my endocrinologists office and I do not have to take anymore insulin. I am going to continue to check my sugars once/twice a day just as a safety precaution but otherwise I am done. I am so happy!!! For all of the diabetics out there there IS a light at the end of the tunnel! POOF IT'S GONE!!!!!!! FYI: I was sleeved July 17th... It's August 1st. Now how do you like them apples!!!? *Happy Dance*!!!
