The drain was never mentioned to me. I only heard about it on this forum. So I decided to call my surgeon and he said he does not use drains whatsoever. I agree with the previous post that it's your doctors preference.

Yes. It is hard to communicate with someone when they won't open their ears and just listen to you! UGh. That is super frustrating. It sounds like she's going through her own issues that she needs to communicate to you as well. Perhaps she is feeling insecure or is a tad jealous of your new success. It really sounds that way to me. You never know how people are thinking and why they react the way they do. She definitely needs to get over the fact that you have a new body. She's missing the bigger picture here. It's not about you looking good for other women. It's about you being HEALTHY and sustaining longevity in life. After all, she does want you to be around for your unborn child right? Idk what the deal is. But, I don't think the age difference is significant enough to put a damper on the relationship. At 27, she should be mature enough to convey her feelings to her husband and vice versa. Communication is definitely lacking here. The problem is what do you do if she continues to not "hear" you? Tough one! I now see why your contemplating separation. Still, keep those thoughts aside and try your hardest to understand her feelings and get her to understand yours !

Well, you two are basically still newly weds. I don't think you should look to divorce just yet. Have you tried talking to her about all the issues? Perhaps you should start there first. If need be, go to a therapist so there will be a non-biased party present. Communicate first. I do believe the both of you moving into your own space will help also. Try those two steps first!

I'm on the 17th. I feel the SAME way!!! My dentist's assistant had it done last year. She said she was connected to a morphine pump and pushed the button literally every 20 minutes b/c she was scared of feeling any pain. Overall, she said, she did not feel anything and didn't even need her pain meds when she was discharged from the hospital. I'm praying I have the same outcome. I can deal with a little discomfort but I in no way shape or form want to be in severe pain. OMG. I'm so nervous about that. I expressed this concern to my doctor and he thought I was being dramatic. lol. But he assured me I wouldn't be in pain just a little discomfort. We'll see...!

How are you all feeling? Is anyone in severe pain or discomfort?

Surgery @ The Washington Hospital Center...
TinaMari posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi Everyone! Has anyone had their surgery at the Washington Hospital Center? If so, I'm curious to find out what it was like. I've heard each doctor & facility is different regarding treatment. I'm more so concerned with: 1. whether or not you woke up with a tube down your throat; 2. What kind of pain medication were you given? I've heard of people being connected to a morphine pump or receiving pain meds via injection through the abdomen; and 3. What is the story with some sort of drainage tube I'm hearing of? Some people speak of it and others do not. What exactly is it and does everyone have that done? Thanks for your help! -
lol. I think as long as you take your vitamins you'll be okay. Biotin is a vitamin especially made for hair and nails. It is found in most multi-vitamins but to take extra precaution you can buy it separately and take a pill per day. I guess you should really direct this question to your surgeon and see if he/she has any other directives for you.!
