I was sleeved in April,& have lost over 90lbs. 2 years ago I was diagnosed with ADD & started vyvanse. I went off the med a few month later, because I didn't think I really needed it. I started back on vyvanse a few weeks ago. I feel like it doesn't work the same way it did before surgery. Do any of you feel like medication effects you differently since surgery? Do we absorb medication differently with our new stomach's? I'm thinking my dose is just too high. Suggestions please. Thanks!!

depression after surgery?
katieb replied to SexyMama's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well. I like your sister don't recognize myself either. I am 11 months post op and have lost 115 lbs. everyone compliments me and tells me how great I look. I don't know myself. I have been heavy my whole life. I feel bones I have never felt before. I am on anti depressants, but have been on and off of them for Years. I'm very depressed. I haven't been like this for this long of a period forever. I never want to go anywhere or do anything. Just thinking about doing certain things gives me bad anxiety. If you haven't battled depression or anxiety before. You should be fine. I'm no happier now thn 115 lbs ago. I thought I would change and be super happy. But. I'm not. -
115 lbs gone! Before & after photos
katieb replied to katieb's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think it's all due to the exercise. I exercise every day. I do cardio and weights. I ate all clean healthy foods up until the last month. And now I am cheating here and there. I also log everything I eat and drink in my fitness pal. I always eat Protein first and make sure to eat 70 grams a day. Hope this helps. -

Thanks all for the kind words!! -
@sr910 - I am so sorry to hear about your marriage. I feel your pain. I was sleeved 11 mos ago. My marriage was going through the ups and downs before surgery. All my friends told me that once I lost weight I would get the self esteem to leave him. I have lost half of myself and am told daily how amazing I look from others. My husband sees attention I get from other men when we are out. He is no different with me today at 150lbs than he was with me 11 months ago at 265lbs. He still womanizes and lies. My self confidence is now even worse than it use to be heavier. He is amazing to me to my face and to everyone around us. However, he loves to womanize behind my back and lie. I am investor gadget ....lol... So, I find out everything. Sometimes too much. . Stay strong and know that surgery won't cure everything. We have to be happy with ourselves and know our self worth. No one deserves to be lied to and cheated on. No one! I would never disrespect someone I say I love. I hope for your sake things work out. Take care. God bless!!

8 Months out and still feeling like I'm not worthy of my success!
katieb replied to Changing B4YourEyes's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Congrats! That's so awesome!! I am so proud of u! You have done an amazing job!! Throw out all of those clothes that are too big! I went from a 22 to a 10. I don't wear anything that is too big. Regardless the amount of money I have spent on clothes over the last 11 months. I bought clothes for every size I went down. However. I am dealing with not wanting to leave the house. I never want to go and do anything. I would rather stay at home and go to the gym. I always decline invites with friends. All that being said. It sounds like we are all having struggles with the weight loss in some fashion. Good luck to you!! Throw out all of those clothes that are too big!! -
When will pain at stomach incision site go away?
katieb replied to MOBD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's crazy to read all of these posts now since I'm 11 months out. I had the same pain and no one else did at the time. I couldn't understand why I was so different than everyone else. I was in pain for at least a month. The incision on my left side was so painful. I couldn't cough sneeze or laugh without it hurting something terribly. The best advice I can give you is to move around as much as you can without being in too much pain. I think I may have babied myself too much not knowing how much I should or shouldn't do, & was scared to hurt myself. -
I may have fallen off the wagon :'(

Stay strong and try your hardest to make better food choices. You are very early in your journey and if you start eating fast food now. You will eat it in 8 months and in 8 months you will be able to eat bigger portions ( if your anything like me). I am 11 months post op and made great food choices the first several months. Now, I can eat anything with no issues, and tht scares me because I don't want to fall off completely and lose sight of the surgery only being used as a "tool". I as well as you am still losing weight and exercising regularly. However, I now have a sweet tooth and have been eating cookies, ice cream, etc. I know it's not right. But, continue to do it. All that being said....good luck! Stay focused. It sounds like you know what you need to do to be successful. Be blessed! ???? -
Alot of times I don't recognize myself. I will walk by a full length mirror in a department store, and I will stop and walk backwards and look again. I am down 115 lbs. when I was down 60 lbs. I was like you. Everyone commented on how different I looked and I didn't feel any different. When I'm waking in a mall or in the grocery store. I always think tht someone is looking at me cause I'm so fat, and then I remember I'm not fat anymore. It's also crazy for me tht I can feel my hip bones and ribs. I've been overweight my whole life and this is all so new to me!

I have a venti skinny Carmel macchiato from starbucks almost daily. My nut said this was fine. Not only am I getting 12 oz of skim milk, but it's also my guilty pleasure. So, of she said caffeine is ok, then it's ok. ????

Gastric sleeve stretched
katieb replied to tmesley's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can eat alot. That's why I work out so much. The last few weeks I notice a huge difference in my hunger. It scares me as well. But. I know the sleeve is just a tool and I need to be diligent on my food choices, as well as the amount I eat. I ate a whole brat and 1/2 of a butterfly pork chop with a couple pickle slices for dinner. Prior to tht I had some chips & salsa. That's a lot of food. But. I also am human and worked off 700 calories at the gym today. -

I am 11 months out and am at my goal weight. Actually a few pounds below. I have been really hungry lately and have been eating alot more than normal. However, I have been eating the slider foods. Chips and salsa, cookies. U name it bad stuff. I have been working out a ton so I have been eating more & more bad choices to make up for the amount of calories I have burned. I need to get back on track and stop the slider foods soon. Before it becomes a habit. I definitely don't eat as much as I did pre op. but. The important thing is that you make good food choices so you get full & don't eat alot. Also the more carbs and sugary foods you eat. The more you crave them. I ate very few carbs and made very few bad choices in my eating up until the last few weeks. Sorry for my rambling. Good luck! -
That's not necessarily true. I cheated as well. More than one time. I am so focused now. I am almost a year out and have lost 115lbs. I workout all the time and eat sensibly. Don't give up. Stay focused. You can do this!!
-
I cheated as well on my liquid diet. Try your hardest to stay on track today. The other thing I did was drank a bottle of magnesium citrate. You need to stay focused today through your surgery date Wednesday. I know how hard it is. If I did it. You can do it. Don't risk the chance of them canceling your surgery because of your cheating. Good luck, it's worth it. I'm 11 months out and have lost 115 lbs.

Relationship issues after surgery?
katieb replied to Dreamingofhealth's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ya. My husband looks at the porn sites with skinny girls. So I thought he would like me skinny. However. Whn I asked him the other day if he liked me fat with big boobs or skinny with no Boobs. He said big with boobs. Really he just liked me insecure so he could do his thing and not worry about me leaving. My husband isn't fat. He actually has a really nice body and girls really like him. So, it makes it hard. He doesn't discriminate so girls love giving him attention and he loves attention. Why I didn't see this before we got married I have no idea. It's so hard and stressful. -

Relationship issues after surgery?
katieb replied to Dreamingofhealth's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with everyone. If you had a good relationship before the surgery. You will be just fine after the surgery. It is so important for making this change for you,& not for anyone else. I use to want to be skinny to make my husband want me more. I am so glad I decided to do this for me and my well being. Because at the end of the day my husband doesn't love me any more or less than he did when I was 110 lbs heavier. Actually I think we made love more before my surgery than we do now. I thought sex would be better with me being smaller. But, it really isn't. Of course when friends ask me If its better. I say yes. Because it seems like its the answer everyone wants to hear. Sometimes I think my husband is jealous because of my weight loss & he is pushing me away. Has anyone else had this happen? -
TMI for Sure. But i need some advice from my fellow sleevers. I was sleeved April 2012. I have had bouts of constipation here and there. But. Nothing like what I am dealing with now. I have been taking miralax for about a week now and have been able to go some. Yesterday I did an enema and within 30 seconds I had to go& it was all watery. I did another enemy today. Went right away again and watery as well. I am so bloated & my abdomen hurts. I'm so nauseous & I feel like there is more to come out. But. Nothing Else is coming out. Any suggestions?? Is this common? Do I call my doctor?
