Migraines And Pre Op Diet
disneyteach replied to DawnDuke1983's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor said I can have a meal at night, because I am diabetic. The only reason you do the liquid diet is to shrink your liver, so the surgery goes faster, plus it makes you healthier for the surgery. Ask your doctor. -

Bariactric Humor (At Least I Thought It Was Funny).

I have started mourning buffets. I will never be able to eat at a buffett again. Bye Golden Corral. Honestly, when you think of it, buffets are about quantity not quality. -

Well, at least we will never be poor and hungry! We can just go through a store on the weekends and eat the samples. During the week, we can eat the samples from the deli counter or the mall food court, when they give out those free samples. Honestly, when we eat out, we can get up after the free breadsticks! -
I have had my fitbit for four months, since I decided to have this surgery and I love it. I am a ringing endorsement for the fitbit. I broke my cradle sitting in a chair with handles (I know I am fat). I emailed the company and they send me one out FREE of charge. I heard they will do that with any part you break except the actual Fitbit. Here is the reason I like the Fitbit: Pros: -Logs steps, stairs and ellipitical steps -Integrated with Myfitnesspal -Works on PC and MAC -Sweat resistance -Logs my blood pressure and blood sugar -Holds a charge for at least seven days -Emails you a weekly report -Free reports and software Cons: -Communities are hard to use -Buying replacement parts are unavailable -For logging sleep, it comes off too much. I have sleep apnea, so my Bipap logs my hours. Hey does anyone want to be my friend on Fitbit. My profile can be found at: http://www.fitbit.com/user/22FL84

Any May Sleevers Here?

My wife was the same way. I went to the meeting by myself to learn about the sleeve. Really she has a fear of death, so I understand. I told her "Rather I can chance it now and live for a long healthy life for a long time or I can have all these problems and die sooner." So go Froggylady. Do what has to be done and he will come aboard after he sees how much happier you are. I don't know from experience, but just looking at the pictures of the people who have had the sleeve. -

Hey everyone, I am a week out from surgery, May 14. I have been on a liquid diet with a lean cuisine at night. I lost 18 pounds in one week!!! I can't wait to see what the scale holds next week. I love the Protein shake from GNC. It is called Go Lean shake and only has 170 calories. YUMMY! -

I am more scared of the catheter than the surgery. I hope it doesn't hurt next Monday!

I have UHC and I thought they were not going to approve me, but the doctor's office pushed them. Also, I have diabetes, sleep apnea and sciatica, so it was a matter of time. I took a new job , because they have BCBS.

Hi everyone, I need recommendations for post-op Vitamins (chewables and after two month vitamins). Is there a Vitamin you would recommend at Target or Sam's Club I could buy? My doctor recommends Bariactic Advantage and Bariactic fusion. What are you guys taken?

My date has been changed to May 14 and I am starting to wake up in the middle of the night thinking of the possible pain. I am a true wussy! I hate pain, but I don't mind discomfort. Off to get my upper GI appt tomorrow.

How Are All The May Sleevies Holding Up?
disneyteach replied to beautifulnewme2012's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone seems to be doing great. Just met with the dietation today, but she told me I can have a meal, since I am diabetic. I ate one the minute I got home and cherished every carrot, bean and other goodies. I am getting over my nervousness, because so many people have said this is the best decision of their life. I slept through the night. When you did your upper GI did they take you on a ride? -

Thanks everyone. That make me feel a lot better. I keep having that swing thought " Well, I could try Atkins again instead of the surgery!" it is good to hear it is worth it! -
Good luck and lose a stomach!

Is there an alternative to protein shakes? This is disgusting. I have this required doctor Bariatric Advantage stuff, is that the problem? I started a week early. Thank God, my wife brought me Chicken Broth. Help me!

I went to the pulmonary doctor today and found out that I can not travel for a month and I have to inject myself with blood thinners for 10 days. I have two trips planned for June, so is kind of a problem. They are trying to move up my date. Did anyone travel after their surgery? How many days did you stay in the hospital? Thanks for any help.

I totally forgot people go to Mexico for this surgery. I think they are just being over cautious, which is a good thing.
