Hey all! Hope you're enjoying this 3 day weekend. I'm at work, unfortunately. I work on a military base in a 24/7 operation. Oh well. Lainy, congrats on those 18 lbs!!! Hey Lynette! You'll have to post a pic so we can see that new do! As for the constipation, I had this a while back. I was S-U-P-E-R miserable. I, too, am very normal. I've just upped my fiber intake. I eat Raisin Nut Bran in the morning. This has got me back on schedule. I want to get my fiber in naturally (w/o having to take a pill/drink a mix). Linda, I'll be joining you in purging my closets. This should be fun! Getting rid of stuff that doesn't fit anymore b/c it's too big...and we won't be needing them ever again b/c we'll never see those sizes again! Woohoo!!! Forgve, sounds like your fill appt went really well! I'm still holding on until my first fill. And congrats on the 30 lb loss! That is awesome!!! ShannonRT, how did your first post-op dinner outing go? Hi Ribearty!! Soooo good to hear from you again! How's ething going w/you? Dini, your back!!!! We missed you!!! That was wonderful that you got a chance to pamper yourself and have some me-time. And you have a bit more me-time since your baby's w/your mom.

Here's the thread for Life After LapBand Removal: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f79/ Hope this helps!
-
Of course, that's a decision for both you and your doc to make, but...I would definitely get my band put back in. I've already gone through this scenario in my own head. Check out the Removal forum and see what others who have gone through this experience say. I wish you the best!!!

How often do you weigh yourself?
chimboree26 replied to lizster2007's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
This is me...I never weigh myself. Weird, I know, but this is what I do. I just wait until my doc visit. I, also, go by how my clothes fit/look/feel. -
Congratulations on the awesome wt loss!!!! Feels great, doesn't it??? Keep up the good work. I'm glad to hear you talk about exercise b/c it is so key to our success!!! Again, great job!

i am staying on plan today because ...

I want to reach my mini goal of 250 lbs by 31 OCT 07. P.S.--Love this thread. -
Ya'll aren't alone. We'll get through this. We just need some restriction. We have to hang on until then. And don't worry. Once we do get restriction, those pounds will MELT off!

I'm sorry!!! I'm sure you'll do just fine. You are very bright and I'm sure you know youre stuff. That is kinda odd, though - chemistry in the bio class. Just take a few deep breaths, try not to be so hard on yourself, and know you'll be okay. Think about it, you know more than they do! As for the adviser situation, just tell him point blank. You still have time to work on it. Breathe...take something for the pain, if necessary, and go to bed. Let us know how the class goes.

I am a little over a month out from surgery and I have been completely exhausted this week. I'm not sure what's going on...nothing much has changed, except for my exercising. I'm still eating healthfully, drinking water and protein shakes...I am now on solids, so I thought I would have a little more energy. Monday, I did 9 miles on the bike at the gym. I felt great, but I haven't been back since. I usually don't have a problem working out. But I just physically can't. Tuesday, I literally slept most of the day (which is sooo unlike me. I'm not a nap taker). Today, I feel very sluggish. What is going on???
-
I'm thinking maybe I need to up my caloric intake b/c I've been working out 4-5 days/week... Guess it's time for some experimentation.
-
You're signature asks what am I grateful for... I'm grateful for this awesome tool we have and the new lease on life that it has given me!!! I'm also grateful for the site and the support and encouragement it has provided. I have made some awesome friendships so far. I love it!
-
Awesome!!!! Glad you're up and moving again. Good idea to take it easy for a little bit. And I would bet that since you've stopped smoking, that definitely is affecting your heartrate. I am just so proud of you for quitting! :clap2: Be blessed and keep up the great work.

DINI, WE MISS YOU! We hope you're having fun in Italy! I'm sure you'll have some interesting stories to tell us upon your return.
-
Hey Jeanie! How are you chickadee??? Chocolate and I are DEFINITELY good friends. We go WAAAAAAAAAYYYY back! LOL. Ruby, I'm sorry. That is beyond frustrating. Unfortunately, Only4Me is right. I know it doesn't help now, after the fact... I hope it all works out for you. Keep us posted! Where is everyone? Am I smelly or s'thing???

Yes. I'm learning to listen to that 'soft stop'. I've discovered if I don't...even one bite too many, I'm miserable. To be honest, I feel like I can't get anymore (liquids) in. I know I'm not getting 64oz in a day like I'm s'posed to, but physically, I can't. I'm usually satisfied w/my meals. I try to start drinking 30 mins later, but it sends me into the full, uncomfortable mode.

I'm eating about 800 calories a day. I'm also taking a Multivitamin, B-12, and Citracal. For example, this is what I had today: -3/4 cup Raisin Nut Bran (w/2% milk) -11oz Muscle Milk (protein shake) -30oz Water (and Crystal Light) -4T tuna w/FF Mayo (1T) -2 Lowfat Keebler Club Crackers -5T Chili (w/little cheddar cheese) -1 100 Calorie Pack (Chips Ahoy)

Hey, hey, hey!!! How's everyone? Marcy, I was cracking up at your pic w/the chix. And that zucchini is almost as big as your daughter. LOL!!! Great job w/your wt loss. Your clothes are baggy. Isn't that the best feeling!!! AppleBlossom, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE crabcakes. Here in Southern Maryland, we're known for our seafood! Next time you make some, use some Old Bay Seasoning. I love it!

Our Wal-Mart is being upgraded to a Super Wal-Mart - grocery store, Starbucks, pharmacy, optical shop, automotive center, blah, blah, blah. We used to have the McDonald's up front, too. I do not like Wal-Mart b/c ours is always junky and crowded. I stopped going there a while back. Target is my store. It's very clean, well-lit, wide aisles, etc. I went to Wal-Mart for the first time in a long time and it is so freaking messed up. They're still under construction, but e'thing is strewn all over the place. Things aren't logically placed. You can't find anything. Too much hassle. I'll stick to Target.

Go Lynette! Sounds like your 2nd fill went well. Once the weather breaks, you'll be more likely to get out and exercise. In the meantime, just keep at your TurboJams. And yes, the dog and $12M is absolutely ridiculous. Some people... Hey Caz! Congrats on making it through the first day back and managing that stress! We all know that's a huge accomplishment. BlueEyedBaby, unfortunately, welcome to Bandster Hell. No fun, huh? But Peaches is right. Just focus on healing. I was told by some other LBT members, eat when you're hungry during this time...just eat the right things. If you're on mushies, then eat mushies until your satisfied. If you're hungry 2 hours later, then eat some more mushies. Once you get a fill that provides restriction, you will leave Bandster Hell. I know for me, moving to solids has really helped. Maybe see if your doc will let you advance to the next stage. SSanka! Great job on both the walking and the Water intake! I know how hard that water thing is. Jeanie, thank you sweetie! You made me blush!!! I love our group and love encouraging everyone! And I can't wait until my lil family comes along. I know it will be awesome! Frustrated, I love the 'Ruby's Water Rules'!!! I will be using them tomorrow. And yes, this is the last summer I'll be fat...soon to be 'This is the last fall I'll be fat'.
-
Doing great! Loving life like you!!! I hope all is going well for ya.
-
Forgve, you look great!!!! I agree w/Marcy. Thin suits you very well!!! SSanka, great job w/the walking! You'll be knocking down an hour before you know it. Lynette, cool! You're getting another fill already and I haven't even had one! Auntie Phyl, I hear you about the Crystal Light. It's so hard to get it all in. I'm really making a conscious effort. i'm gonna check for s'thing cheaper, too. It is a bit expensive.

12 Days Post Op - Questions?
chimboree26 replied to kero's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lawanda, congrats on being banded!!! I know for me it was the best thing I've ever done for myself. As for the bloating, you may be bloated for a couple weeks. I know I was. During the surgery, they blow your stomach up w/gas to have easy access to e'thing. I just had to keep walking to get rid of the prego belly. As for the wt loss, don't worry about it at this stage. This time is for healing. The wt loss will definitely come. Remember, you have been pumped w/IV fluids, gas, and anesthesia. All of this may be keeping wt on you. Trust me, the wt loss will come. And your port incision is usually the most tender of all. It will be tender for a while. I know mine is still a little tender and I'm a month out. And no, the tomato soup you had isn't bad. You're doing great! -
Welcome Butterflykisses! This is a wonderful group of people. I hope you feel welcome and comfortable. Jump in. And BTW, congrats on your AWESOME wt loss!!!! Laurend & MarcyinAK, congrats to you, too on your wt loss!!! This is so exciting! It helps keep the rest of us pumped up! Marcy, I don't mind if she read anything about me. No worries here. I know how you feel, though. I think I would feel a little funny about my family reading some of this stuff, too. We tend to be a little vulnerable here. Hello Car. I'm having a hard time getting all my Water in, too. I've been making a conscious effort, though. I realize there's no other way than to just do it. I find if I make it w/Crystal Light, I get it down faster. That's been working for me. Forgve, we haven't heard from you in a while. Glad to have you back!!! Lynette, hey darling!

Well, I'm hardly the drill seargant type. LOL! But I just want to say it's okay. You realize there's a problem and you know the solution...just doing it. You're not a failure and you haven't relapsed into your old ways. You have made a huge decision w/stopping smoking, which is a big deal in itself (GO YOU!!). And to top it off, you're hurt right now. Just look at the situation for what it is. Try not to internalize it so much. Stop beating yourself up. You are doing FANTASTIC!!!! You'll be up and running before you know it. Give yourself a few days to recover from the back pain, and then get back in the gym. Take it easy once you're there, though. Don't overdo it and try to make up for lost time. Hope this helps!
