I agree about the exercise challenge. I myself have stopped my routine. I'm sad about that. :car: I have a part-time job now, so here's how my day goes...I'm up at 5am to get to work at 6am. I get off at 2pm to get to my part-time job at 3pm. I get off my part-time job at 11pm. When and where do I fit my exercise??? I LOVED doing it in the morning, but my gym doesn't open until 5am. I've gotta figure s'thing out b/c I can tell a HUGE difference since I haven't been working out. As for the challenge, we can (1) do one just for us Lucky 7s or (2) we can join some of the other challenges out on the board. I know there's a September to Thanksgiving challenge that was started. What do ya'll think???

Hey ya'll! What's happening? I see we have a bit of activity going on. I love it! Dini!!! Yay! You're back. We were wondering what happened to you.

I wanted to watch it, but I missed it. How sad. I'm sure those folks who lost 'only' 7-8 lbs felt horrible. Real supportive, huh? A lot of times, the reality shows exploit more than anything. I've found that to be true, especially when dealing w/obesity. It seems there are so many shows about obesity these days...Biggest Loser, Fat March, Big Medicine, Brookhaven...why the sudden interest lately?

All, here's a great thread about fills. Click on the link in the first msg. It has plenty of great fill info. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f13/fills-adjustment-info-3733/ Cherea

Bluebike and Lindaa, I just want to caution both of you to watch the amount of your fills. You don't want them to ever be too tight b/c you run the risk of slips and erosion. Just monitor how your body responds over the next several days. If you still can't keep anything down, you definitely need a slight unfill. I just don't want you guys to risk your bands! Soon after a fill, there is some swelling, so my doc has me do liquids for that day. It may loosen a bit as the swelling subsides.
-
Peaches, thanks sweetie! I try to remember everyone...I don't always, but I try. I know after a fill, you may be a bit swollen, so you're gonna have a bit more restriction. Also, a lot of folks say they're tighter in the morning and when Aunt Flo comes. I would just take it easy w/liquids today and see if that helps out. It'll give some time for the swelling to go down.

Hey Gang! Just wanted to drop in and say hello. I'm at work already and it's 6:30am! Welcome to Chloe and Bluebike! Glad to have you here. The Lucky 7s are AWESOME!!! We're such a caring, supportive group. I'm so jealous of all of you. I STILL do not have my fill. Not until 9/27. I am doing my best to hang in there, but it's hard. I can seriously eat anything w/o any problems. Sunny, sweetie, I'm sorry you're in a funk. I know what those are like. I think IndioGirl is right, though. You're probably still down from losing your doggie. Just know that you can come here anytime and one of us will be here for you! Or, you can call me, too. I'll PM you my number. Auntie Phyl, WOOHOO!!! You got your fill! I had to laugh at Phyl's Fill. I'm so happy for you. What an ordeal getting the actual appt, though, huh??? Unruhlyd, Can you get up a bit earlier and do 30 mins of walking? Or walk on your lunch break? Just a couple of ideas. Like Brandy said, we've gotta just do it. We've got to make it a part of our lives, just like brushing our teeth. I'm speaking to myself as I type this. Someone has said there are 2 groups here on LBT - those who exercise and those who don't. Those who do, they are VERY successful w/the band. I'm gonna be in this group. Bostonchic and AshRae, welcome back! We've missed you! Hi ShannonRT, Indio, Frustrated, Brandy, Peaches, SSanka! Lynette and Dini, where are you???

Ribearty, I have said a prayer for your nephew and family. I think it's absolutely disgusting that someone stole his stuff. People never cease to amaze me w/their lowliness. But most importantly, I'm glad he is doing okay. I know how dangerous hydroplaning can be b/c it happened to me once. Was driving home from work durning a horrible downpour and I begin to glide and spin into the northbound lane (I was going southbound.)...VERY scary. To this day, I still get a little nervous driving in heavy rain. Frustrated, Good things all around for you!!! Your first fill, not having to pay the sleep study bill, AND wt loss!!! WOOHOO!!!! Good for you! SSankofa73, I'm like you. I have to find time to fit my exercise into my day. I now have a 2nd job, so...it's gonna be tough. I work from 6am -2pm on my primary job. Then I'll be working my 2nd job from 3pm - 11pm (4 days/wk). Guess I'll have to find a way some how. Skipping it is not an option for me.
-
Laurend, this is an excellent point/idea. I think it's what I've been doing w/o realizing it. I just figure if I eat a little more than usual on one day, then the next day, I make sure I take in less. I'm gonna experiment and see if it makes a difference for me.
-
Brandy, congrats on your wt loss! Every bit counts! And that is so nice of your bariatric center. It's nice to hear about doc offices and centers that do care about their patients. We certainly hear about the not-so-good ones all the time.
-
Frustrated, your post made me tear up. I loved reading it! You are so right. I consider ya'll to be my Lap-Band family. And all of you do inspire and encourage me. I love how you said you can come here 24/7 and get what you need. That is so true! Thanks for blessing me w/your post. It was great.

Just disregard this post...s'thing weird is going on w/the posting feature.

Kathy, congrats on your husband's full-time job! I'm sure e'thing will work out for you w/the differing shifts. We'll just pray he gets moved to days in record time! As for yesterday's question of the day: What is motivating everyone to lose weight?... For me, I want to be healthy. Diabetes and cancer are all over my family and I don't want to be included. I also have PCOS and I want to have children one day, so I have to lose wt. I want to look as beautiful on the outside as I am on the inside. I'm determined to become that Hottie Jalottie by New Year's!!! LOL! I'm also determined that this will be my last fat summer! Guess that sums it up.
-
LOL!!! I was cracking up at this. It's scene time...AWWWW HELL NO!!!! HAHAHAAAA!!!! Mango, you are s'thing else.

Hey gang! This will be another short one until later this evening. It seems everyone is doing so well! Auntie Phyl, I am so sorry. I would DEMAND that they give me a fill on the original day. Just go show up at the office. This is absolutely ridiculous and they should be ashamed of themselves. It's not even me, but I'M ticked off at them. And I loved your Mongolian Grill story! YES!!! Chalk one up for you! LOL. Chris, This has been a long haul. I really need some restriction. I'm starting to stress and wonder if I'm eating too much. I'm sure I'm at about 1 cup of food. I know exactly what you're going through. I will get my fill on 9/27. HANG IN THERE!!! We WILL do this. Breadlady, welcome back dear! We've missed you! Lynette, where are you???? IndioGirl, awwww...thank you! I try to stay and think positive. I just love encouraging others. Dini, what's up? I'll be back later tonight to talk some more. I hope everyone has a wonderful day!
-
Hey ya'll! Look at all the folks on tonight! I love it! Sorry this will be short b/c I am super sleepy. Just wanted to stop in and say hello! I will catch up on the other posts tomorrow. Don't forget to answer the question of the day...see below. Good nite!:bored QUESTION: Have you discovered what your overeating trigger(s) is (are)? Could it be emotions/feelings, holidays/special occasions, media - like commercials, ads..., boredom, the clock (it's 12:00 noon, time to eat - even though you're not hungry)...etc.

i am staying on plan today because ...

...Because I want to be a sexy momma and a hottie jalottie for my birthday - Oct 26th!!! -
I know for me, the clock and boredom are triggers. I'll see that it's 12:00 and say, 'It's lunchtime', even though I may not be hungry. And I would eat. That has since changed, but I still struggle w/it sometimes. I've always known that boredom triggers overeating in me. I would mindlessly graze on snacks when I didn't have anything to do. That has definitely changed since banding.

Shout outs to Lindaa, Cazulay, Cate, Peaches, Brandy, and Appleblossom! How are you guys doing???

Hello everyone!!! What's been happening? I've been quite busy lately. I haven't been exercising this past week and I can tell. I miss it. Wow. Who would've ever thought I'd be saying that one??? IndioGirl, How are you? We've missed you around here! NewCC, how did the fill go? I'm so jealous! I don't get a fill until the 27th. But I know my doc just wants to make sure my port is completely healed. Mango, I'm sorry you're hungry. It's a horrible feeling. Are you on solids? What's are your meals like? Can you give us an example of what you're eating on a typical day? Shannon, congrats on the consistent exercise. It will make a huge difference. I always read on this board that there are 2 groups of Bandsters - those who exercise and those who don't. I want to be in the first group. I know it helps tremendously w/the wt loss. Hey Laurend, Dini, Sunny (where are you?), Lynette, Auntie Phyll and everyone...Frustrated, Forgve, Marcy, SSanka...just thinking of all of you!!!

GOOD MORNING, GANG! I hope everyone has a great day today. :bounce: Caz, you're right. Tomorrow is another day. It's all good and you're doing just fine. We're all still learning to change our lifestyles and that includes habits we've had for years! No worries. We're gonna do this together!

Ribearty, ONDERLAND!!!! GO YOU!!!! Congratulations! What an accomplishment. :high5::high5::high5::high5:
