Hey Dini. I go every 2 weeks...I LOVE it! Oh, I'm gonna have to hold myself back as the wt comes off. Don't get me wrong, I'm not conceited, but I do have a healthy sense of esteem (go figure). Even as a plus-sized woman, I've always taken care of myself. I just don't want to go overboard as the wt comes off. Just being honest. I know I'm gonna be a hottie jalottie! As for Mr. Adam...maybe he's having a hard time dealing w/this b/c he knows you're beautiful already, have a great personality, and he's scared what's gonna happen once you start losing wt. Maybe he's worried you'll start getting more attention from men and that scares him. Maybe he's upset that you'll no longer be attracted to him. I'd talk to him about. I'd have to. That's just me. I like to get stuff out on the table. No sense in letting it fester. I'm sorry he's not being as supportive as you would like.

I'm gonna go lay down for a few...I'll check back w/ya'll later! :bored

Hey, hey, hey! What's going on? Yes, Dini, I was calling you a foxy momma. You are too funny. And Lynette, you are mawh-velous, simply mawh-velous. You guys crack me up. Welcome to all our new friend, Lucia Maria. Woohoo on the date. You are officially a Lucky 7! You will be making an appearance on our calendar soon. JenniferNAZ, I was thinking about the nail art and I'm w/Lynette with the clover and the 7. I'll keep thinking. I'm a big nail/pedicure girl myself. Been doing it for years. I usually get gel nails. My own nails grew pretty long, so I would just get the gel on my nails. I just took the gel off recently b/c I needed to start fresh. So, right now, I'm sporting my own au naturel nails. They are short and cute w/a pretty mauve color right now. Sorry...I'm just blabbing on, aren't I? I am feeling like such a bum right now. I'm so sleepy and ready to go lay back down. I need to clean house, but I'm so tired. I've been working a weird shift at work, 3pm - 11pm. When I get home, I can't go to sleep until after 2am. I really hate this schedule b/c I'm such a morning person, but can't be w/this jacked up schedule. Anyhow...sorry. I felt like venting for a second.

Faithmd, thanks for popping in and wishing our folks well.

Guess who got her desktop hooked up at home? Yep. My poor laptop. I'm gonna take it in to see if s'thing can be done w/it. I miss her so much already. I wanted to take it w/me to the hospital b/c our rooms have wireless internet access. I wanted to be able to talk to ya'll while there. We'll see. Well, guess I'm going to bed. I'm tired. :notagree Gnite!

I've gotta go get some of these. Another thing to add to my list. Just keep it coming, ya'll!

Reconciler, congrats on the date and welcome to our humble abode! We will add you to our Lucky 7's calendar. Since your doc didn't give you a pre-op diet to follow, I would really try to take it easy...What you're experiencing seems to be the Last Supper mentality. You're trying to eat all the stuff that you know you won't be able to during your recovery...I got an article from my dietician on this. It said it's a form of grieving what we know we're about to lose. (1) Don't beat yourself up over this-it's normal, (2) Just try to not let it get out of control. You don't want your liver to get too large so that it will interfere w/your surgery. (3) RELAX and enjoy these moments before one of the biggest (and best) decisions of your life. It's gonna be alright.

Yay. Yes, it has been very quiet for quite some time. I check several times, as well, so we're in the same boat! I feel like I live on LBT! But I must admit, it is a great place to be.

So, I had my follow-up appt w/the pulmonologist. All was well, but I have to do a sleep study, so that will happen 7/21. Boy, I can't wait until the big day. I'm getting worn out w/all these appts. I know it's for the better, but gees... Welcome to the newbies: SunshineSonya, Dmtjet, Stepht7s, Tinkerbell, Ronik, Ribearty, Sheelagh, Stonersmom, Only4Me, Mommiranda, Rebecah411, SweetJephy, CantWeight, JenniferNAZ, Jacki29, Bun1, and Jdhj861jr!!!!! And anyone else that I may have missed. Felicia, hang in there. And just let your DH know that he may not be so lucky the next time! :laugh Lynette, Last fat encounter. You are too much, girl. :laugh Jackie506, I was wondering about the CPAP. I don't think I'll have to get one, but I guess I'll find out for sure once I have this sleep study.:twitch: PattiC, no worries. You will do well w/your Band. I know all of us will have those last minute nerves and anxiety. Just remember, you've done your research/homework and it's all good! Dini, AKA Foxy Momma, how are ya, girlfriend? Things going well? Cazulay, I know what you mean about the negativity w/family. That's why I'm choosing carefully who knows about my surgery. Not that I'm ashamed, just saving myself some headache pre-op. Ya know? After it's done, I don't care who knows. I just want to enjoy the time leading up to my surgery. LyssaRene, I am cracking up about Boris. I've named mine Bandolina. I know that she and I are gonna get along real well. MarcyinAK, I'm sure I can speak for Dini and Lynette when I say we love being captains/cheerleaders. We love helping and encouraging ya'll. I want to say thanks to everyone here on LBT and our Lucky 7s thread. You guys are great...so supportive. For some of us, this site may be the only positive support and encouragement re the Band. As we know, some of our family members, friends, and co-workers are less than thrilled for us. Stay strong and keep up the awesomeness!!! Laurend, we thank you for crunching the numbers for us!!! I think it's a great idea to have it all there in black and white. :cheer2:

HAHAHAAAA!!! That is so awesome. God is so good! No 'Red River', no 'Curse', etc. during surgery. WOOOHOOOO!!!! And that is hilarious about your kids burning their carbs. Too funny. Get 'em started early.

Hey gang...sorry I've been MIA, but remember my laptop caught on fire. I went to hook my desktop up (which I NEVER use...what a shame b/c it's basically brand new.) and I couldn't find the stupid power cord!! I moved into a new condo and left some of the stuff down my mom & dad's...including the power cord...I'm on their computer right now. Once I get home, I'll hook it up and be back in business. ANYHOW...wow I am blabbing on. I feel like I haven't talked to ya'll FOREVER!!!! WELCOME to all the newbies. I'm sorry I can't personally welcome each of you right now. I will once I get home. LYNETTE, BEEFYIRISH, and BFYNENTYME, the big day is tomorrow!!! You have got to be sooooo excited. If not, I am for you. LOL! I am praying for each of you and I know all will go well. Bfynentyme, loved the prayer! I can't wait to hear your updates. I have my follow-up appt w/the Pulmonologist tomorrow. I will find out if I have to do a sleep study or not. I pray not. But anyhow, whatever will be, will be. Ok gang. Gotta get off here and head home. Later gators!

JC, this looks like a great program...I may have to try this out...I want to run sooo bad, but right now my body just won't have it. Like AReelLady, I get jealous when I see people running...I don't like to run, but I'm sure once I get some of this wt off, that may change. -

Deanna, thank you so much for offering to be my accountability partner! That would be great!!! :biggrin1: And thanks for the encouragement. I have really done my research/homework regarding the band. You're so right. Many, unfortunately, think the wt loss is an automatic thing and they can 'check out'. No auto-piloting here for me. I am gonna work my butt off. I will PM you my info so w/can discuss this accountability thing. -
Yes, I love that show. I watch that and the other wt loss focused show...can't think of the name right now...something to do w/a clinic...brain is starting to shut down fo rthe night. I'm still at work. Dont' get off until 11pm. Oh yeah, forgot to tell ya'll that my laptop caught on fire! :omg: For no reason. Sooo...I'm gonna have to hook my desktop up so I can have internet access this weekend. Boy oh boy. That's the 2nd thing of mine that has caught on fire for no reason. My car did a few months ago...that was scary cuz I was in it!!! Anyhow...gnite gang. Will talk to you later!

Welcome DarLaur! We are glad you've joined us! I will be updating the calendar, so I will add you, too. Feel comfy here. This is a great group and great site!

Exercise frequency
chimboree26 replied to susannah's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hey gang. I am enjoying this thread. I have yet to be banded, 7/25 is the big day. I know the key to this is incorporating exercise. It is so obvious when comparing those who do and those who don't. I am already planning what I'm going to do. Prior to my sciatica/knee problem, I was working out 5 days a week. I would do 2 miles a day. That was very good for me. I felt like I wanted to run, but my body wouldn't and couldn't handle running, so I did what I could. I admit that I'm an overachiever in every other aspect of my life, so it's always been beyond frustrating that I couldn't get a grip on my wt...but watch out now. With my band and consistent exercise (and I don't mean the la-de-da strolls, either), I know that I will blow this outta the Water. Ya'll have confirmed my thoughts and feelings. All of you are so encouraging. I wish you all the best!!!
