I'm sorry!:rolleyes I just added you. See attached! July 2007 Bandsters.doc
-
You're right. We did get his name (which he doesn't want revealed here, which is fine). I did look him up and he is licensed. No problem w/you playing DA. We were just a little concerned and had to do some investigating.

Hey folks! I just found this thread, too. I don't normally go in the Lucky 7s thread from the main menu...I just did and look what I found??? Great idea to break some of this stuff out b/c our main thread is blazin hot!:flame: I almost didn't want to post b/c I don't have a pre-op diet. I don't want to rub it in, but my doc just wants me to do the normal pre-op thing the night before. You know, no food/drink after midnight. I feel so fortunate. I admire those of you who do have one and are successful w/it.

:update: Here's the latest calendar. Please let me know if I need to make any changes! You guys are the best!!!:bounce: July 2007 Bandsters.doc

Wonderful!!! I'm updating the calendar as we speak (or as we type).
-
Hey Suzielondon! I am updating the calendar. I see your date is 7/21. That's a Saturday. Is this correct?
-
Yay!!!! We're so glad to hear from you. It seems that you are doing very well. This is so encouraging!!! I get more and more excited w/each update! Are you in a lot of pain right now?

This is kinda my synopsis of what I’ve gathered during my time here at LBT. It’s all about balance. You can’t go to the far-left or to the far-right. I apply this in every aspect of my life, so why not here w/my LapBand? Now, I’m not banded yet, but I’ve been busy doing the emotional, mental, and spiritual work…July 25th will just be the beginning of the physical part Eating (once you’re onto solids…I’m not referring to the liquid/mushy phases) As long as we’re getting a balanced meal—protein, veggies, fruit, etc., we should be fine. I don’t think we need to completely cut certain things out of our diets, just don’t go overboard w/them. I’m not telling everyone to go and stuff yourselves w/your favorite foods, but don’t feel like you can never have them again (unless of course your body tells you no). I don’t think we should be relying solely on Protein drinks/smoothies, either. Healthy, well-balanced meals should be what we’re aiming for. Exercise (again, once you’ve been cleared by your doc) This is an absolute must to be truly successful w/the band. To me, the band is a tool to help modify our behavior, particularly regarding food intake. It is up to us to modify our behavior regarding exercise. No one is asking you to be a world-class Olympian, but on the other hand…4 months out from surgery, I think we should have graduated from the leisurely stroll around the block. My motto/philosophy will be everything in moderation…It’s all about balance. This has served me well so far in life, so…if it ain’t broke So just wanted to share my $.02!!! Hope it helps someone!

I am having a hard time w/this b/c I did a license lookup and I didn't see you anywhere, either. What's the deal?
-
I think that was Ms. Lynette...let's give her her props! LOL!
-
Yes, Snaggletooth and Mommiranda, we are praying for both of you. Let us know what you're thinking and feeling right now. And our latest banders, Cherrybomb and LWesson, we hope all went well for you today. Pop in as soon as you get a chance!!!.
-
Great! I wholeheartedly agree. The Lord uses people and technology to heal, just as much as He heals supernaturally. I'm glad you're doing well now. I have 20 days till my surgery. I am so excited!
-
Icybreeze, no pre-op diet here. Thank you, Jesus! I know I'm one of the fortunate ones b/c there are many here that do have one.
-
Hey. I'm sorry about the font thing. My computer at home was acting crazy and I didn't realize the font was that big!
-
Can you tell us where you practice? Do you have any patients here on LBT?
-
I also hate the 'compliment', "You have such a pretty face". That drives me nuts! For me, it just emphasizes the weight issue.
-
Good evening, you guys. I've just been catching up. Welcome to IcyBreeze, Jnkntrnk, JDHJ861jr, and Gladster12. I hope I didn't miss anyone! Well, am I embarrassed by my weight? I can honestly say yes. How do I know this? I'm gonna be pretty candid w/this. Please don't get the wrong idea about me. DISCLAIMER: Really, I'm not selfish and superficial! Well, I always try to make sure that everything is 'right'-hair, nails, clothes, etc. How shallow, right? But I do it (1) b/c I always have...I enjoy taking care of myself, despite my size, and (2) especially now b/c I am overweight and I don't want people judging me, thinking I'm lazy, sloppy, don't care about myself, etc. It's almost like I know people are thinking things about me b/c I'm overweight, so I want to take away any additional ammunition...does that make sense? So, just a little insight for ya.

Gladster, welcome to the Lucky 7s! Make yourself at home. We will add you to our calendar, which I'll be updating later on today. What happened to our fellow Lucky 7s that haven't posted in a while??? Evilah, who started this thread, where are you? Well, I'll be back later today. I have an appt at 10am, so au revoir.

I can't wait until I reach this point! It's funny b/c I have people already putting dibs on my clothes...and I haven't even had the surgery yet! I, too, have a lot of great clothes that I'll have to get rid of. It will be so expensive for me to build my wardrobe back up. I'm just worried about not really having anything b/c you can't buy too many things in one size b/c you won't be staying there long. I'm a big clothes shopper, so this is kinda stressing me. I love to look nice and feel good in my clothes...oh well. I guess I will have to cross this bridge when I get to it.

This is hilarious...but I looked it up (on Urban Legends Reference Pages) and they say that many people swear by this. Had never heard it before, but hey, it's s'thing to remember. And the article said it was in an Ann Landers column. Gotta love this site (LBT). I learn s'thing new everyday.

Welcome Grammarcoquette! Glad you've joined us and congrats on the date! We are glad to have you as a Lucky 7. Feel free to jump in anywhere. Wonderful group of people here. Ask away w/any and all questions!

Yeah, and it's ticked me off, too. I am so flippin sick of hearing that this is the easy way out. You know, don't even try to make him understand anymore. I'm sure he has heard/read all the facts along w/you...and if he still thinks this is the easy way out, so be it. He will see that this takes just as much work and effort. It is not an automatic thing. The band is a freakin tool!!!!! Do we have to shout it from the mountaintops??? Ok...deep breath Cherea (my real name)...I'm okay. Don't get discouraged b/c he doesn't understand. If he hasn't heard/read the facts, you can maybe leave some info in the bathroom (for some reading material, lol). But personally, I would just stop trying to force him to understand. You're only gonna drive yourself crazy in the process...and you'll miss out on enjoying your entrance into Bandland!!! WOOHOO!!!!
-
No sweetie...I was just cheering for the 7/3 folks in that post...How could I forget you, Cherrybomb??? But....We do have on deck...drumroll please....Cherrybomb and LWesson! We wish you well tomorrow. We are praying for you and know that e'thing will be okay. I'm sure both of you can hardly sleep!! But do get some good rest tonight so you're good to go tomorrow. Stop in and let us know how you're doing. We still haven't heard from Laurend and Abbey. Hope all is well. Dini, Adam just doesn't know what to do w/himself, huh? Are we gonna have to fly over to Ireland and show him/tell him? I'm sorry things haven't been going to smoothly. Really, I would sit down and have a heart to heart w/him. Okay, gang. I am gonna head to bed now. I'm sorry I didn't get to respond to more posts. I have been moving (my cousin's getting her home remodeled) all day. I'm worn out. Till tomorrow!!!

I'm sorry that your 'support' group - and I use that term loosely- didn't turn out so well. I chose the Lap-Band for the following reasons: less invasive (than GBP) reversible adjustable no malabsorption problems I would NEVER, EVER consider GBP. That's just me. I wouldn't want them cutting and rearranging my insides. It seems so drastic to me. And one of the biggest turn-offs to GBP is that they seem to get that bobble-headed look...I think it's due to the rapid wt loss. Faster isn't always better. I have 3 family members that have had it done and again, I would never consider it.

Also, I've been doing a search to see if I can find any info on Dr. B. Nola (on the web), but I'm coming up empty...I would think that I would find something...and I have yet to see any patients of his/hers here on LBT. Just seems a little odd to me.
