IndioGirl, GOOD FOR YOU!!!! You held strong!!!! That is a huge NSV (non-scale victory). Just think before the band, I'm sure you would've joined in w/the rest of the group. Congrats! Laurend, I am so jealous! I want my fill, too. Although you're not as restricted as you would like, I'm sure it helping w/some of the hunger, right? SSanka & Frustrated, I've been walking, too. It is my favorite form of exercise. Keep up the good work! Lindaa, yep. Welcome to Bandster Hell. No fun. Hungry, no restriction, can eat whatever you want, but no you shouldn't...I know. I can't wait until I get some restriction!!! And about giving in, don't beat yourself up. We're still learning and trying to break old habits. It's all good. Just brush yourself off and keep on trucking!

Anyone able to eat cheese
chimboree26 replied to Jobstud's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep. I eat a little FF cheddar on my scrambled eggs in the morning. Yummy. I agree w/Trystelle that the mozzarella (and provolone for me) did kinda bind up as I chewed them. So, I just avoid them. -
I agree w/Jacqui's thinking, as well. For dinner today, I had some beef stew, pureed. It has green Beans, tomatoes, corn, and cabbage in it. It tastes so good and is so filling and nourishing. I have a big pot of it and will freeze most of it...and just thaw and puree as needed! Sure, I have a Protein drink throughout the day, but I'm not going to obsess over it. I just want to continue to eat healthfully, like I did pre-band...just w/smaller portions. Wish you the best!

Hey Lynette! I think you're right about the Protein. When I eat meals w/higher protein content, I find that I'm not as hungry as soon. I can't wait until I get some restriction, though. I know I can eat more than I am, but I'm holding strong. It's just rough when the hunger (real hunger) keeps coming back. Caz, no pics here. I did get to see my band in x-ray, though the morning after surgery. It would be neat, though to have them. Marcy, I LOVE seafood. Here in MD, it is everywhere! My first mushy meal was a crabcake (at least a 1/4 of it). So good.

Hey Gang! To all of us struggling w/eating more than we should...eating beyond satisfaction, etc, this is part of the head work related to our bands. Isn't it s'thing??? We do have many old habits to break. It is gonna be weird for us to not clear our plates. It's gonna be weird for us to get full off such small portions. It's gonna be weird until we get used to this whole new lifestyle. It's gonna take us some time. So, try not to beat yourselves up. Trust me. I know b/c I'm real good at punishing myself. Just please remember my caution about eating beyond your food stages. We want those adhesions, that are gonna hold our bands in place, to form properly. We don't want any slips!!! Just hang in there. We WILL do this!!!!
-
Hey Sunny!!! How you doing? Yeah, yesterday I had a potty problem. Not fun, but I'm doing fine now. I will never eat like that again. Living and Learning!!!
-
Wow. 2 bathing suits! Go you! Do you know, I don't even own one suit??? I hated the way I looked in them...but boy, I'm getting excited now thinking about what style/color I'm gonna get!

8/7 & 8/8 - nothing I need to re-join my local gym so weather is not an excuse for me. (It's been in the 100s here, so no outdoors activity for me.)
-
Brandy, sounds like you're doing well, too! Good for you. It seems more and more of us are getting to the mushies phase. I'm glad you're still dropping those lbs...say goodbye b/c you won't be seeing them again! WOOHOOO!!!! I can't get a fill until 6 weeks out, either. I really think I need one, though. So, I have to wait until 9/5 before that can happen. Oh well. I will just continue to hang strong until then.
-
Well, that counts, too, doesn't it? Have a g'nite's sleep!!!
-
So, do we know what we're gonna do about our cruise?
-
Haven't seen Dini around...where are you??? Probably sound asleep by now.
-
Congrats, Caz on your wt loss!!! Isn't it exciting to see those lbs go?!?!? Kristin, I've never scrapbooked before. It looks like a lot of fun though. Do you have a LapBand scrapbook??? Maybe you should make one. I did learn how to knit from a lady at my church and I found that to be very relaxing. I've been making those trendy, furry scarves. Haven't finished one, yet, though. LOL! I'm getting there.

I know Lynette. It does take time to get acclimated to e'thing. Think about it...all of us just went through major surgery, not to mention all the pre-op stuff (tests, diets, emotional/mental work, etc.). Then, we're all getting used to Band life itself, then trying to get back to life itself. It is a bit much. Maybe at work, just walk for 10 - 15 mins. It's okay to break it up in bits and pieces.
-
Lynette, Hunter is so cute...it aint hot out. LOL. That made me smile. I've gotta get the recipe from home. I thought I had it saved here on my work computer, but nooo...As for exercise, I know it's hard. I was s'posed to go this morning, but too hot. I have the Walk Away the Pounds DVDs, but haven't done those, yet, either! What's up w/me??? I will be MAKING myself walk tonight on my lunch, but it will be inside the building. I guess we just have to tell ourselves is s'thing we have to do. I know for me, I want it to become a part of my everyday life, like brushing my teeth.

Only4Me, sounds like today was a little bit better than yesterday's work day. Get some rest and you'll feel like a new woman in the morning! Have fun w/Lily! Ribearty, seems like we haven't heard from you in ages! I'm w/you on the mushies. Just had a little french onion soup and a little sweet potatoe casserole. Yummy.

Unruhly, I use Any Whey from GNC. I don't really care for its flavor, so I haven't been using it much. Frustrated, congrats on the 12lbs! YAY!!!! Glad you're doing well. I hear ya about the heat. It was 104 here today, and 112 w/the heat index! I can't stand it!

I have an awesome White chicken Chili recipe...too bad I can't eat that right now, unless I puree it! Let me see if I have it here at work w/me. I may have it saved somewhere.

Upset Stomach and A Little Diarrhea
chimboree26 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My stomach isn't feeling so great. Today at lunch, I was at the salon, getting my hair done. My stylist was going to get lunch at Chipotle (don't know if ya'll have these, but they're Mexican Grills). She offered to get me s'thing, so I said okay. I told her to get me the following: refried Beans, a little cheese, and sour cream. I said if the chix is shredded, get me a little. One lady said yes, it's definitely shredded. Well, this is what they got me: pinto beans, cheese, and a ton of sour cream...and some cubed chix. AAAAAHHHH!!! I didn't panic. I picked through and ate all the pinto beans, making sure to chew them extremely well. They were spicy. I had a few bites of the chix, again chewing like crazy. Well, I was super full. I really think I ate too much. Nothing got stuck at all, so I was okay there. This was around 1:30pm - 2:00pm. I get to work and really, really have to go to the bathroom. I go and feel a lil better. dinner time rolls around, I'm still freaking full. I ate a Tbsp of tuna, but didn't even bother with anymore b/c I'm still full. My stomach is still so full and I don't feel so well. Has anyone else been nauseous from eating too much??? Was the food too rich for me??? Is this what this is? -
CC, that's okay to keep a secret. It is certainly all up to you. I thought I was going to, but I've been so excited that I'm telling everyone (except a few exes...hahaha...wait until they see me! LOL!). Have fun at your parents. We'll talk to ya soon!
-
Aunti Phyl, woohoo on the 14lbs! Those are 14lbs to never be seen again! As for your band, the 11 is for the # of ccs the band can hold. I'm not sure what kind I have, yet. I'll ask on my next follow-up. Glad you're getting your coffee back in! I'm not a coffee drinker, but I understand that many folks love, love, love their coffee. And you're right. Stay on that doc's office!

Hey everyone! I miss ya'll. We've gotta keep out thread going. Can some of you at work check in around lunchtime or sthing??? Well, here's a question for everyone... Now that the surgery is all said and done, have you been telling more people or just keeping it quiet? I know for me, I've been telling more people. And the funny thing is, I've had a few people call me...b/c they want to get the surgery, too! How awesome is that?!?!?!

Lynette, that will be so neat! I eventually would love to run a marathon. Who knows. It may actually happen now. Hi Kathy!!! Well, here's what's been working well for me: scrambled eggs w/a little cheese, and tuna fish. These have been very filling for me. I don't get as hungry after eating them. I'm going to make some chix salad to change it up. SSanka, good for you! Pushing on through. I know exercise is gonna make a huge difference for all of us. Caz, just make sure you stick to the plan. We don't want to risk any slips in the future.
