Me, too. I would absolutely refuse to eat it. Like you, I would just sit there. Eventually, my mom would give me s'thing else. But I seriously would not eat it. I used to hate any kind of fish, mac & cheese,...I was a very picky eater. God help me when it's time to have my own children!!!

I was thinking the same thing. Are you playing hide and seek w/us???

Jeanie, love your new pic! Hope all is going well for you. I'm sure you're pretty busy getting prepped for the new school year! No water retention probs here, but constipation...that's another story. Frustrated, Oh no!!! I never want to experience sliming or pbing. Caz, go you! Compliments certainly help us on this journey, huh? My co-workers, family, and friends have been amazingly positive post-op. I'm so happy for you! Tenille, horrible feeling, isn't it? Things have been getting a little better for me here...but goodness. I've vowed to not get like that again. Marcy, I know about The Clean Plate Club. What a mindshift for us. But, we will do it. I have no doubt...unless we want to enjoy pbing! LOL. Lynette, hey sweetie! Glad to hear Hunter is doing better. I always feel so bad when little ones are sick. They can't really express what's going on. Congrats on breaking that plateau! What a feeling, right?

Hey Auntie Phyll! Glad to hear from you! I'm sorry your DH is being so controlling. I'm sure he thinks he's helping, but we know otherwise. Maybe after your anger and frustration is gone, you two can have a heart to heart about this. I hope this situation gets better!

http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f17/before-after-pictures-pix-only-4642/ Here you go Kathy. This should encourage you a bit. Just remember, it's all good! And we'll be on this B&A thread before long.

I haven't PB'd, yet, but from what I understand, it can/may cause some swelling, causing more PBing...and the cycle goes on. I think you should just stick to liquids for a couple days and see if there's any improvement. If there is swelling, you'll give it a chance to go down and then you may be okay. And as always, if there are any questions, contact your doc. Hope this helps.

Mango, I think you're right about the no fiber and no fat. I've never heard that about olive oil. You think it'll get things moving?
-
Kathybad, I hear you! BANDSTER HELL...no fun at all!!! There are many of us here w/you. Just brush yourself off, and look to tomorrow. You'll stick to your plan. I know you will! It's just during this healing phase...once we get restriction, we'll be happier campers.

I meant to post this earlier...sorry! Lynette had to go b/c little Hunter wasn't feeling well. She said to tell ya'll goodnite!!

Only4Me, Yes we are...I mentioned this many, many posts ago, but come New Year's 2008, we're all gonna be Hottie Jalotties!!! Mango, YES, YES, YES!!!! I was soooooo constipated on Friday. I was miserable. Took a stool softener. WARNING...TMI coming up...I think I now have a hemorrhoid. And now it is painful when I go. Very painful, like something is tearing (and I have a high tolerance for pain). I've always been very regular prior to banding. So, what I've done is added Raisin Nut Bran to my list of mushies. I let the cereal get mushy before I eat it, but I want to try to get my bran in by eating more fiber...before I try the Benefiber. Don't know if the cereal is okay, but I will not let myself get like I was last Friday. I'm so sorry you're feeling bad. Try drinking some prune juice. That should get things moving.

Who Has Joined A Gym Or Do You Work Out At Home?
chimboree26 replied to violeteyes37's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I just re-joined my local gym. For me, I'm more consistent if I leave the house. I faithfully go to work out. I go first thing in the morning and I love it. I also make myself go b/c I'm paying for it. Just another added incentive. -
Lynette, you go w/the Turbo Jams! You've done the hardest part--getting started. We'll keep cheering you on!!! I sure hope Hunter gets better. Poor little guy. Sunny, I hear you. I want a fill so bad, too. I have NO restriction whatsoever! Caz and Tenille, congrats on your wt loss and accomplishments!!! And to think, this is just the beginning. SSankofa73, yes, confession is good for the soul. I do always feel better after I talk to ya'll about stuff that's bothering me. Only, you're right. That meal is over and done with. I have such a hard time making mistakes (can you tell I'm a perfectionist???)...but I'm learning to give myself some slack. I love this group. Ya'll are the best!

I think what you all are experiencing is normal. Beka, you're right. You've just had surgery. Your body needs time to recover. You're gonna feel tired and want to sleep more than usual. That happened w/me. I am definitely NOT a nap taker, but while recovering, I took one faithfully. As for the limited amount of 'food' (liquids) going in right now, that's due to the swelling and restriction you have. Don't worry about it and just sip from the moment you wake up, until you go to bed. That's what my dietician had me do. And I do mean sip. Now, if you're to the point where you can't keep liquids down, that definitely requires a call to the doc. Just continue to follow your doc's/dietician's orders and you should be fine. And welcome to Bandland!!!

I love that--Band Busters! Oh I wouldn't laugh at you eating Spongebob mac & cheese! LOL. And you're right. The quesadilla wasn't what I remembered it to be. Isn't it awesome that our tastebuds are changing and craving healthy stuff??? Well, I'm noticing a pattern. If I miss a meal, then by my next meal, I am so hungry that I almost can't control myself. I am so full from that quesadilla that I won't need anything else tonight. Thank you ALL for the encouragement and support!!! Ya'll are the best!

Hey gang! How are you? I've been doing well. I've been exercising (just the treadmill for now) and it's giving me a lot of energy. But today was bad for me. I did my exercise, but I ate a mushroom quesadilla. I know it's a no-no b/c I'm still on mushies. I picked at the refried beans (which are fine on mushies), but that quesadilla...I started out just eating the insides, but the tortilla looked and smelled so good...and the quesadilla won. Well, I guess I'll brush myself off and get back up. I realize what happened and why...I didn't have lunch today or my afternoon protein drink. So, I guess I did it to myself. As I always say, I live and learn. Just had to get that off my chest! I feel bad for what I've done.:cry

Hey ya'll! I would love to be a part of this walking group! I went to the gym today. YAY! I walked for 35 mins, 1.35 miles. We can do this!
-
LOL. I've got some rolls myself! I think I've 'buttered and jellied' them up for long enough!!! Can't wait to kiss those babies goodbye. Can you tell I'm working on fumes here? LOL.
-
Yes, I'm here until 11pm tonight. :cry But all is going well, though. I went to the gym this morning! I did 35 mins on the treadmill, 1.35 miles. Yeah! I felt good afterwards.

To be honest, when I'm full, I don't feel good. I think it's important to learn the difference b/w being satisfied (not hungry) vs. being full. With the band, we need to eat to the point where we are no longer hungry. As soon as I feel satisfied, I stop. I've learned that if I don't, I will pay. I will be very uncomfortable, almost nauseous. And it takes a while for that feeling to go away. Hope that helps!
