Hey Appleblossom!!! Good to hear from you. You're doing great despite the small gain during Bandster Hell. Everyone has been telling me it's okay if you gain a little during that period b/c it will drop off once you get restriction. But you're right about our old habits. They will die hard. I find myself still eating a little too fast. I'm constantly reminding myself to slow down. And also, good for you w/the exercise!!! It makes all the difference in the world.

Hey gang! I've been MIA for a while, but I'm back! Monday, 8/27 Bike, 9 miles, 30 minutes!!!! YAY!!!!

Aww Kathy! Look at your beautiful family! I love your little girl. I still think it's so neat how much you 2 favor! I can't wait until I can have a family of my own. No husband, yet, so guess I'll just have to keep waiting.

Hey gang! I've missed ya'll!!! Talk about computer problems...my internet isn't working at home. Not sure what's going on w/it, but I can't connect. So annoying when that happens. I'm here at my parents' house tonight. Things certainly have been quiet. Everyone has gotten back to 'normal' life, I guess. CitygirlinKS, welcome!!! This is an awesome group! Feel free to ask away/chime in. Kathy, congrats on the date! You and your family must be thrilled! Lynette, how are you doing? Sounds like you had a good lunch w/your mom. We used to have Perkins here, but they're gone now. Auntie Phyll, wow. Sounds like ya'll will have your hands full! LOL. And a football game - what fun!!! Dini, hope you're having fun in Italy. We're missing you! I'm so jealous! Hello, Jeannie, SSanka, Kathybad, Laurend, Peaches, Sunny, ShannonRT, Janiee, Only4Me, and everyone else. I was just typing on the top of my head! Keep up the great work!!! Remember, we're gonna be Hottie Jalotties by New Years!!!!!

Here's a great list of things you may want to refer to. I didn't need e'thing on this list, but it may give you some ideas. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f73/post-op-checklists-things-have-before-surgery-14814/ I found that I was very well prepared for my surgery - before, during, and after - thanks to this site. You'll be a bandster soon!!!
-
Oh Lynette...where are you? You didn't come out to play today.
-
Congrats, Jackie on breaking that plateau! Feels great, doesn't it??? Thanks for the encouragement. I'm really trying! Auntie Phyll, I agree w/Sunny. Maybe you need to up your caloric intake a little bit. See what effect that has. Frustrated, love that positive attitude!!! And BTW, I understand about the wacky Aunt Flo. LOL. Also, I'm familiar w/the Demanding Diva of which you speak... hahahaaa All, just keep at it. I know some moments are tougher than others, but we can and will do this! We are learning this new lifestyle. It's all good and we're gonna be okay!

IT IS WONDERFUL!!! I am so excited! Thanks for asking. To be honest, I can't figure out what I want to eat these days. I'm overwhelmed w/the choices!
-
Hi Kristin and Peaches! It is a tad quiet, huh?
-
Thank you! Well, I would've been done next year if I hadn't taken a break. I just got soooo burned out. I still haven't gone back. So, I will probably be done in 2009. My Theology degree is almost done...only 3 more classes and an internship left.
-
The other degree is in Theology. I was originally going to be a Christian counselor. I have a Bachelor's in Healthcare Mgmt/Admin.

Ghost, you can do it!!! As I like to say, 'Put your big girl panties on and just do it/deal w/it!' And I think your ramblings are onto s'thing. I love the head part of this journey. It is sooo interesting to me. I'm working on a dual Master's right now and Counseling is one of them. I may have a little niche here w/dealing w/weight loss surgery patients...

This exact thing happened to me the night before my surgery. I thought strep, also. I started to cry b/c I didn't want my surgery to be canceled. I just took some Mucinex to dry e'thing up. I also drank orange juice until midnight. I wasn't taking any chances. I woke up in the morning and I was fine. Not sure what it was, but it was weird. I thought for sure I was coming down w/s'thing, but nope. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Hope you get squared away!

Problems with hiccups?
chimboree26 replied to jglong54's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had them a couple of times since my surgery. Just an idea...I know during the surgery, the diaphragm gets irritated, and I know spasms of the diaphragm cause hiccups...maybe there's some correlation/connection? Don't know. Just thinking out loud. Kat, that's hilarious about your fam staring at your belly. Fastpitch, first, congrats on being banded!!! But I'm sorry you're having violent hiccups. I know it has to hurt. Hopefully they'll subside soon! BTW, I was a fastpitch pitcher! I loved it. Wish there was a local league for my age group. -
Janiee, congrats on your fill! Let us know how you're doing w/it. I have to wait another month before I can get a fill. But it's all good!
-
Only, I have a friend who had a High School Musical 2 sleepover for her kids. Oh my goodness. It was crazy! All the little girls were drooling over Zack. HAHAHAAAA!!! And they were young, too. I just had to laugh. Brandy, good luck w/your fill tomorrow. And yes, you have done FABULOUS w/your wt loss! 26lbs in 53 days is a huge accomplishment!!! They are gone forever! WOOHOO!!!
-
I'm liking the 'Cunning Plan'. I'm not that far along, yet, so I don't have pics to share, but I certainly don't mind helping you out!
-
I'm glad to see our thread jumping again!:tongue1:
-
Hey Gang!!! IndioGirl - AWESOME!!!! You are doing great. 13 miles!?!?! :omg: You are rockin and rollin. Lynette - Isn't that s'thing. One minute, they say he needs to work on motor skills, but the next minute, they say he's fine. Go figure. And how cool is it that he's so advanced that he's gonna be helping the other kids out socially?!?! That is wonderful!!! All - I had my 2nd post op. Guess who has lost a total of 17lbs??? In less than a month!?!? How awesome is that? I am so proud of myself right now. I am now on solids and just thrilled about that. I had a chix caesar salad from Olive Garden. It was great. I still have a ton of it left for dinner tonight.
-
Hey Caz! Congrats on your fill. That's awesome that your band isn't finicky! Guess what? I can have steak tomorrow if I want, too! I'm getting moved to solids! YAY!!!!!!!!!!
-
Yes, WasA, post the picture, post the picture! Don't be afraid. We love you here.
-
Yes, Lynette, I'm hanging in there. I'm trying to fend off this hunger the best way I know how. Congrats to you for listening to your body and stopping!!!! You are doing awesome! Keep up the great work. Car, I'm glad you're doing so well. By 4 days post-op, my appetite returned...w/a vengeance! I can't wait till my first fill. I will find that out tomorrow at my 2nd post-op. Only, How are you? That is too cool. My mom's b-day is today, too! Didn't get to spend time w/her b/c I'm here at work, but I will this weekend. Great job w/your meal, too!! Isn't awesome to be in control? I am so proud of our group. Lucky 7's are the best!!!

Thanks!!!! I'm working at it. I don't have a fill, yet, either...and I'm in midst of Bandster Hell!!!! And my doc doesn't do fills until 8 weeks out!!!! :omg:
