    Baby pics

Thanks everyone! I have to say quite modestly I might add, that I do think I have some pretty cute kids there! LOL Trish, I can't believe you managed to lose while pregnant! good on you. Even with baby sickness and vomitting i gain every time! (I eat to try and kill the sick feeling LOL) Anyway, I am getting my first fill in over 18mths on the 11th July, so I can't wait. Well overdue in all aspects I think. I want to get back to my pre baby weight now, and then lose even more!
  2. Never fear the band is here! I would do it all again (except maybe morning sickness and the band...) with out question.
  3. :help: Hi everyone. It has been 18mths since my last fill. Since then I have had a baby but no fill removed (3cc). I started gaining slowly about a year ago but then I was pregnant so didn't get a fill. I have a little restriction(only in terms of not eating dry meats or fresh bread but not in amount of food I consume) I have forgotten what its like to have proper restriction and know when to stop. I am gaining again from emotional eating and am hoping that a fill will put a stop to that. What do you think? I am not making really bad choices of food, just too much. I seem to never feel full and satisfied, its like not being banded at all. :phanvan I am getting really upset about gaining, it is really starting to get to me. Does anyone else have a similar experience?

    Who Did You Tell?

Oooh, this is funny. I wasn't going to tell ANYONE, just dh and Aunty who had it. Then I told my brother and his wife too, and the people Iwas staying with when I went for the band. That was it I wasn't going to tell anyone else... Now its a different story, I just about tell anyone (2 yrs out so very comfy with the idea) but I don't tell ppl I don't like much or didn't like previously. You know, the ones who always had something to say about my weight. I just let them suffer!!! (Especially since I am healthier than them now!! :Banane48: ) My kids are 6 and under. Eldest knows I had an op, but she doesn't know what it is all about. I guess I will tell her one day if she asks, I am sure she will see all the photos eventually.

    Long time between fills...question

Thanks for your reply. I saw my doctor last October but didn't have a fill because I was pregnant. Hopefully will see him in a couple of weeks. He told me to come back 6wks post baby birth, which is next week.:biggrin1: I am sure glad I am in Australia! (I am assuming you are not...)My fills only cost me AUD$85 and I get about $57 of that back through our health system, PLUS because of where I am living I also get flown to my surgeon by our health system.(This doesn't apply if you live in a regular town or city though..)

    Birth announcement...

:clap2: :clap2: :) :cheer2: I am finally home! After almost a month of separation from my dh and kids, I have returned with a new son. Maikia Tepuke was born on 15th May, weighing in at 6lb 3 oz, or 2.8kg. He is happy and healthy whilst I am a little worse for wear!!! Seriously though, everything is great and perhaps I will post a pic or two if i can get hold of a digital camera.

    Birth announcement...

I had to be away so long because I live VERY remotely. There are no facilities for giving birth here and as my prior experiences have all had complications I had to go to town a few weeks early - you know how babies can surprise you sometimes. Then add on the week in hospital and then the days after waiting for the once a week plane home and it is only a few days short of a month!
  10. Hi everyone, I am pregnant (22wks) with the band and looking for support. Anyone else from oz preggers too?

    Any pregnant Aussies?

Fee, This will be my third. 1st baby was vacuum extraction, but only just. They tried and tried and if she didn't come out when she did I was off for a caeser. We were hoping to have 6 or 7 kids, but as I get a little older each time, I am beginning to wonder about that!

    Any pregnant Aussies?

Hi All,:preggers: just an update... diabetes is frustrating me, but I will survive! I have also had elevated blood pressure according to one nurse, but beaut blood pressure for another - who knows! Any way, going to town to have the baby on Wed. 3rd. Obs. has said that due to the diabetes he wants to keep baby in for a little longer. I am officially booked in for c section on 15 May. Apparently g-diabetes hinders the maturity of the lungs. I never knew that! (Thought I knew jsut about everything to do with babies and pregnancy! So, the next time you here from me, I will be post pregnancy and ready to get back into life!!!:biggrin1:

    Any pregnant Aussies?

Just found I have gestational diabetes! :phanvan Its more of a pain in the butt than anything. I had it with 2nd pregnacy but not with 3rd. Now I have to travel to Alice SPrings and spend a week there just to see a specialist for a half hour consult! Oh well. Its just a hassle coz then I come back home for a week and a half and then go back to actually have the baby. Ho Hum...

    Any pregnant Aussies?

I was banded a little over a year but was hoping to wait for two years! Lynda, they do say to wait for year if you can, but they also say that about a normal pregnancy and I know plenty of women who have found themselves pregnant again weeks and months after their baby is born. Don't worry too much. If you find you have morning sickness and are vomitting all the time talk to your gp. You can safely take maxalon or stematil if you have to. Be happy that you are pregnant! It is a time to treasure! What state are you in? I am in the NT.

    Any pregnant Aussies?

Hi Trish, CONGRATULATIONS!!! I haven't had any of my fill taken out. I have 3cc. I was starting to gain months before I got pregnant but was unable to get to my surgeon for an adjustment. By the time I got there I was pregnant! Sammee and Fee, May is a great month to have babies! I already have two others in May - 2nd and 7th! (thought the 7th was supposed to be in mid June so was a tad early) DH wants to try and convince obs. to deliver me on the 9th incase its a girl coz he has a nice name picked out. I said even if it was a girl and she was born on the 8th we could still call her that anyway. (It is his language name for 9 - Ibe pronounced eeba) Anyway, not long to go now. One week left of work. PHEW! Am starting to get a little Fluid retention so just want to take it easy...:biggrin1: Thanks for your comments.

    Any pregnant Aussies?

Just an update for anyone interested... I am 30 wks now. Have put on 14kg so far which is average for any sort of pregnancy. I would really love to chat with anyone else who is pregnant....:cry Due date is officially 22may and I will have a c/section due to past complications on about the 8th May. Every thing seems to be going well. I am starting to feel a little restricted now as everything in my belly gets more squished up. Cheers for now jodie

    Any pregnant Aussies?

just a little up date. haven't hopped on the scales. but had been feeling lousy because I am getting bigger. My head isn't coping with this at all! DH tells me its nothing like what I perceive it to be and forced me to try my old clothes on just to prove it. Some pants are tight and unwearable, but I can fit into ALL size 16 (though tight on the belly but that is to be expected) tops and even some 14'S ! I am stunned. I bought some daggy around the house clothes on a trip to town and do you know what - I bought 18- 20's coz I thought thats where I am...:nervous :phanvan :phanvan

    Bathurst Orange area. Anyone....

Trish, I forgot to mention that I have family in Bathurst and Sofala/HillEnd way...

    Bathurst Orange area. Anyone....

Hi Trish, I was expecting to have my fill taken out, but because I had been gaining (badly needed a fill) my surgeon said I was ok, and infact offered to give me a small fill if I really wanted to. He was pleased that I didn't want to have a fill though. I need a fill many months before I became pregnant but couldn't get to my surgeon at the time. Thanks for your comments on my site. I really do need to update it, but I guess I have put it on hold cos I want to make a new one. Congratulations on your loss so far, and you will find that your fill should make a difference. Slow is better than not at all!
  20. One thing I noticed in your post is that you have a salad at lunch. Do you put much protein in that salad? Protein helps you to feel full for longer. Chuck in an egg or even have a protein shake instead and have a salad between lunch and dinner...That might help to stop the hunger too. You shouldn't really feel hungry, but I know I suffered from head hunger for awhile.

    Swedish Band VS Lap-Band

kabeerah, My first fill was 2cc. I do beleive this is a larger first fill, but I live 1600km from my doctor. He wanted to get to my sweet spot in less time so that I wouldn't have to travel so much.:clap2: Very considerate I think. Anyway, I had good restriction -not too much and enough to last a good weightloss. My second was 1cc and definitely gave good restriction. I actually had 1.5cc but found it difficult over the next couple of days so he removed .5cc before I had to go home. That fill lasted me well over 6mths, then I slowly started to gain. TIme for a fill again but then I became pregnant, and still have my 3cc. hope that helps!

    Swedish Band VS Lap-Band

I have a swedish band. My surgeon uses either one, patient choice. I chose SAGB because it is softer, the lapband has a hard outer casing. Personal choice for me, research at the time of my banding showed no differences in positives or negatives...
  23. a while ago but can't find it anywhere now. I did a search. can anyone help? It was about starting over or the 'do over' I think it was called. Would be interested to see how its going for others and if it might help me...
  24. aussie_jode

    I saw a thread somewhere...

Thanks for that. Its not what I was thinking of but its helpful all the same!
  25. aussie_jode

    What did you pay

Yep, I am happy. I did forget to mention my $80 nutritionist fee, but thats it. I am really happy.:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: And whats more, my surgeon is really nice, very thorough, and if I moved somewhere permanently would be happy to transfer me to someone reputable so I wouldn't have to search around myself.
