Oh my goodness, that sounds delicious! I can't wait to try it!

My energy has been pretty low as well since I got home. I have also been having some dizzy spells, it sounds as though I need to get a little more protien and most likely more water. I hope everything is going well for you!

Like the title says, I am one week post op (hard to believe it's been a week already!) and I'm feeling dizzy a few times a day. Just wondering if this is normal? I'm still on the clear liquid diet and am trying to get as much water in as I can, as well as some unsweetened fruit juice, a popsicle, some tea in the morning and some broth in the afternoon and evening. Should I be worried?

One Week Out And Feeling Dizzy
Krista replied to Krista's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks Holly! I do have some protein powders and have been adding them to my broth. It never occured to me to add it to my crystal light. I'll send Trish an email right now and see what she thinks -
One Week Out And Feeling Dizzy
Krista replied to Krista's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for your ideas! The only meds I was on pre-op was an anti depressant (Cymbalta) and a vit B12. I don't think I'm getting as many calories in as I should, I do feel better after I've had some broth or a popsicle. My family doctor only sees patients three days a week (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays) so it looks like I'll have to tough it out until next week. I do get to start full liquids on Tuesday, hopefully that will help -
Where Are All The East Coasters?
Krista replied to Zedsmummy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi there! I'm another Islander sleeveie I just had my surgery last Thursday in Tijuana with Dr. Ponce De Leon -
I think my post op diet is similar. The nutritionist told me not to worry about the protein until after day 10, but I figure one serving of the protein broth a day might be a good thing to help healing. I also have some of the unflavored stuff that I might try in a batch of Jello later in the week and see how that works out How was your trip home?

Congrats everyone! I was also sleeved on the 10th with Dr. Ponce De Leon, not feeling too bad! My biggest concern right now is the clear liquid diet. I received my Unjury shipment in the mail this morning and think the chicken broth will take a bit of tinkering to get it to the right temperature, but I'm getting lots of water in and am in minimal pain I'm not entirely sure if my scale is telling me the truth, I wonder sometimes if it's a little generous one way or another. Right now it's telling me that I'm about 20 lbs lighter than I was a week before surgery at my last weigh in Sharon, I've got to say, you looked great!! I'm so sorry that we didn't get to say goodbye, I thought we would get a chance later in the day. Keep us updated on how you're doing, it was so great to meet you!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to say hi before things start moving along. It's almost 6am in Tijuana, and I'm scheduled for surgery at 8:30. So, so, SO nervous, but Trish has been phenomenal and assures me everything will be fine. Fingers crossed!

Hi everyone. I am two days away from being sleeved (yay!!) and have a question about the post op diet. I know sugar free Jello and sugar free popsicles are allowed, but what about no sugar added? Everything I've checked out has a smallish amount of sugar in it, like the fruit juice bars I found this morning. They had 8 grams of sugar each, I assume that is natural sugars? Just thought I might ask for your thoughts Almost forgot, what about aspartame? Is that permitted in place of sugar?

Congrats Holly, it sounds like you're doing great! I'm heading out on Wednesday and will be having surgery with Dr. Ponce on Thursday morning. I'm so, so, SO nervous! To be honest, I'm not sure if I'm more nervous about being on a plane for the first time, having major surgery for the first time, or the post op diet. It will be worth it in the long run though. Keep us updated on how you're doing! -
Two Weeks Post Op And Not A Single Regret!
Krista replied to stacey131's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks so much for posting this! I'm heading to Mexico for surgery on Thursday, I hope things go as smoothly as they did for you! -
A week from today is the big day! I chose to go with Dr. Ponce De Leon after hearing about the wonderful job he does and the care provided. Trish has been awesome to work with, and I will have a sleeve buddy, BeautyVSGJourney! I'm so, so excited, but so, so nervous. It will be worth it to be free from the back/joint pain (or at least reduced pain!) and what I am looking forward to the most is being able to ride my horses again. I bought a young horse a couple of years ago and have always had someone else ride him since I was too heavy (although I did ride a few times last spring and got left in the dirt resulting in a bruised kidney, but that's a story for another day, haha!) I'm also looking forward to being able to run. Not jogging or competitive running or anything like that, but just to run if I need or want to. I haven't been able to do that in years! I think my first goal is to walk up the hill up the road from my house. There is a dirt road that I enjoy walking, but I always have to turn around before I get to this long, steep hill, so my first goal is to make it to the top. I'll be sure to keep everyone updated and post a link to the pictures, hubby is a big photography fan so I'm sure there will be many!

Less than two weeks, actually! I just started emailing with Trish early last week. She's awesome

Questions And Concerns. Dr.kelly Or Dr. Ponce De Leon?
Krista posted a topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Hi everyone! My name is Krista, I'm new to the board. I am from the east coast of Canada where the wait time for surgery is 10+ years, so I have made the decision to have surgery in Mexico. I have narrowed it down to two surgeons, Dr. Kelly or Dr. Ponce DeLeon. Both seem very qualified and well respected. I have been keeping up on various message boards, and it sounds as though Dr. Kelly is handling patients himself rather than using a coordinator. I filled out the contact form on his website asking for information, and received an automated reply from A Lighter Me instead of Dr. Kelly. Is he still working with them? He isn't listed as one of the surgeons on their website. Is there an alternate email address where I might be able to contact Dr. Kelly himself to gather more information? Also, I have heard glowing praise for Dr. Ponce De Leon's coordinator, Trish. Would anyone have contact info for her as well? One question I'd like to ask them is how long of a waiting list they have. Is it a matter of weeks or months between booking and the big day (I need to get my passport arranged, so I'm wondering if I should rush it or not) Also, what is included in the $5500 that he charges? Do they arrange my hotel stay after surgery or am I on my own for that? I'll be bringing hubby with me, will he be able to stay with me in the hospital? I think that is it for the questions part of my post. I do have a few concerns as well. I'm confident in both Dr. Kelly and Dr. Ponce De Leon's abilities, but I have never had major surgery before, and have never been on a plane before. My hubby spent the better part of three years in Afghanistan so he's well practiced in air travel and assures me it's no problem, I guess it's just a fear of the unknown. Has anyone else been in the same situation? Thanks in advance for any advice, aside from the butterflies in my tummy, I'm getting super excited! Krista -
