    soda

I've been sick for 4 days and literally haven't been able to keep anything down. I stopped eating yesterday and was rewarded with the dry heaves tthis morning (sorry). So I got a bottle of ginger ale and sipped about 4 oz of it. The vomiting.diareah has stopped but I feel like there's a weight in my stomach. I was going to try Tums but thought I'd try here first...

    4 Months Out

I'm nearly where you are...4 months and 3 weeks out. I've lost 65 pounds, and fail to see any difference except my face is a little less fat and my bras are too big. My clothes are now 1-2 sizes smaller, but like you I can't for the life of me figure out what's different, even though I take my measurements every 20 pounds and have seen a huge loss. My problem areas are my thighs and lower stomach, and they are only a size down, and are shrinking at a far slower rate. And it doesn't help that I hit a stall a couple of weeks ago. When I see my family every couple of months I get amazement and compliments, though. I keep a positive attitude and tell myself that I'm doing well (and when I need an extra boost I remember that my stomach doesn't touch my steering wheel anymore, LOL).
  3. I was sleeved on 4/23 (2 weeks ago today) and am troubled that I am not feeling any discomfort when I eat. I am eating plenty of food (last night I had 3 oz swordfish, 2 oz cooked-to-death squash and 2 oz mashed potatoes, knowing I couldn't finish it all) and could have finished the whole thing if I didn't stop myself. I never had any nausea and the pain was mostly gone by Friday, maybe they weren't such good things afterall. I am desparate to make this work. I'm doing lots of exercise but I'm very scared of the food.

    Too Much

Fish and brocolli are per the surgeon's and the nut's advice. I tolerated both well -- too well, I think. Where's that magic signal I'm supposed to have???
  5. My date is next Monday, 4/23, moved up from the 30th. I'd love to hear from someone who's a year out, what went well, what hasn't, what you would change if you could go back (other than not gain the weight in the first place, LOL). I'm so impressed with the stories everyone has and hope I have as much courage and dedication to it as you all seem to. Wish me luck!!!

My Journey - 1 Year Anniversary

Thank you so much for sharing your story. I am getting sleeved on Monday 4/23 and was looking specifically for someone who is a year out to share their story. Thank you! When I read realistic stories like yours, it strengthens my resolve for a journey I expect to be both challenging and exhilarating. Continued good luck to you (and your children are ADORABLE!)
