    Still Sick:(

I am 1 moth out too. I puke up pretty much everything. I dont see how I can get in many calories. I can not even keep an actual food journal. I only have nausea when I eat and feel like my stomach is constantly growling. Hoping for answers soon.

    Bm Question

I had horrible diareah about 4 or 5 days post op and then got sooo constipated its not even funny. I am still not regular and have to take fiber, mirilax AND senecot. It seems like overkill but it is what helps me go. !

I Had A Breakdown At Work Today

Hi Jessica!! I TOTALLY understand. I am the girl who usually takes the pictures, ha ha .I am 5'4" and I weighed 250 Preop. It totally sucked. I have alienated myself from friends family and going anywhere where I would be "noticed". Yes, I am pretty screwed up in the head with self esteem issues but I think a majority of us have the same dread and fears even if they say they never do.At the very least, there are some emotional issues that made us all overeat to be at an unhealthy weight. I have lost weight in the past on my own and I did feel sooo much better about myself and way more confident so it does fix us to an extent. There is always a sense of insecurity, but that is who I am and I am afraid that won't change. I am only a few weeks out and have lost 20 pounds and I feel better already. Of course I have a long way to go but IF if you have a positive attitude and the support of kind people, you will go far! Keep us posted with your surgery. Blessings to you.

    New Here.....should I Do This?

I do not regret it at all. I am 3 and 1/2 weeks PO and I feel great. The surgery was not bad at all and I had no complications. Make sure you research your Dr. If you look up Bariatric Center of Excellence, you will find a list of Dr.s that have had great outcomes. It is a total change in life and I have struggled a little but I am new at this and I am learning every day with my new body. I am down 23 pounds and my clothes fit so much better and I am excited for my future, for once. Good Luck!

    Ins Approval Phase

I waited 2 weeks for approval after I jumped through all my hoops. It was the worst part of the whole process. Uggghh Good luck.
  10. Flinstones here, no problems.

    Getting Nervous

It is a big decision, so it is scary. I tried to save all my nerves for the day of the surgery. I was scared and I really thought I would chicken out. It was sooo not as bad as you think it will be and I would do it again in a heartbeat. DOnt get me wrong, it is not the easiest thing to do in the world but it is very doable. You've got this dont worry!! It is sooo worth it.

    Death.

    None for me either.
  14. HI! I am responding to this because I was just at the DR. 20 minutes ago for the same thing!. I was WAY constipated ( I am 3 1/2 weeks PO) and it was AWFUL. I drink my 64 oz of water and my Dr. told me to take 25-35 g of fiber a day ie. Metimuci or Citracil, take 1 and 1/2 tbs daily of Miralax AS WELL AS a dose of Senakot. I thought that was alot!!! But she said that is ok and I should have BM every day because the longer it sits the water is sucked out of the stool and you get more constipated. Sorry TMI but thats what she said.
  15. Wow! I hope it isn't anything major. Get better!!
  16. Oh No! Dont lose hope! Do you still have your gall bladder? It may be your gall bladder which I was told it is common to have an attack after surgery. They can do an Ultrasound for that, right?

    Eating Patterns And Feelings.

Just remember you did this for you!! A healthier you mind and body. None of those people will be there when you pull on a pair of jeans and smile because they fit!! You are making progress and even though the comments are sometimes rude, just remember they NOTICE so that means you are a rockstar and you are doing something right.
  18. You are soo funny! I am soooo with you girl! I am from CA and BBQ'ed hot dogs of all things and wanted to eat them soooo bad. I even went as far as taking a bite chewing it up and spitting it out. It is almost torture sometimes. I am only a few weeks out and I am hoping it gets better/easier. Good luck! Stay strong.

    Undecided

Before I decided, I did alot of research on the lap band. I have found that a majority of people that have the band wished they got the sleeve or they have had the reversion already. I personally could not imagine having to go get fills every so often. I also was not keen on being able to feel the port. The stats I read had lower success on over all weightloss. I am only a few weeks post op and I am happy I did the sleeve, but it is a big adjustment as is any weight loss surgery. Good luck!

    Any September People

Hi all! I was sleeved on Sept 24th and have been on a pretty strict liquid diet. I have been experiencing something like palpatations. My heart is beating fine and then feels like it is going to jump out of my throat. I have never had any heart or blood pressure issues. I was reading that potassium deficiencies can cause this so I read my shakes label and come to find out I am only getting 33% of what I should be getting. Anyone else have experience with this? And yes, I will be seeing my Dr, about it tomorrow. KP

    Purees

Congrats on real food! i can not wait! I am 3 weeks and 1 day and can not do puree till the 18th.
  23. Tamara- I am 3 weeks out too and have lost about 20# give or take a few pounds because I have been fluctuating. I eat my 3 shakes some broth, Crystal light, SF Popsicles and really that's all. I would think I should have dropped more also. I guess we just need to be patient, go through our stages and let it work. It is frustrating though, I feel ya.
  24. Exciting!!! Honestly, I am a BIG baby. I was so nervous practically beside myself with fear. You are sore but really it was not that bad. I had 2 C-sections, and not as bad as that. The worst part is the first 2-3 days but you have drugs so it helps. I took a week off of work and returned to my desk job with no problems. The hardest part for me is getting the protein in the first week but after day 4 it got easier. I had slight nausea after but I never through up. I know everyone has a different recovery but as a whimp, I did good. I do have to say that this is a HUGE change in my life. It has been a little hard watching others eat and enjoying food. It has gotten to the point of tears a couple of times. Do I regret it??? Absolutely not. I have lost 20 pounds and my clothes are fitting soooo good. I just have to keep reminding myself what the goal is. Good luck!!
  25. HI! Congrats on your upcoming sleeve! I took one week off and returned to work( a desk job). I was tender but doing well. The only thing is you have to be very careful that you are able to get up and stretch and walk every hour or so because risk of blood clot. I have had a pulmonary embolism due to this from a prior surgery, so its no joke.
