Can I REALLY go through with this?
BeatrizS1974<3 sleeve replied to HumanAgain2013's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you wont have to drink them forever. Each dr is different but eventually you will be able to eat enough protien that you wont need the shakes. Also there are so many different protien companies and different flavors, you just have to try them until you find the "right" one for your palate. I am 2 months post op and loving it! I dont mind my shakes anymore. I actually look forward to what new concoction i can come up with. Some taste great, some not so much! good luck! -

Bread crumbs/Panko
BeatrizS1974<3 sleeve replied to Lisa22465's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have no problem with bread crumbs or panko but i do try to avoid both. I pull the skin off of the chicken (if i am eating out) and if i am cooking i always buy skinless. -

I would probably ask your primary dr. (especially if you have been seeing him/her for two years if they can write a letter to the insurance company saying exactly that he didn't have a wheel chair accessible scale and see what happens.

Congrats. Sounds like gas pain. I used a heating pad and would place it on my back and on my chest and it helped with the pain. You also want to walk around the house. it helps move that gas out of you. -
Hiatal Hernia?
BeatrizS1974<3 sleeve replied to DestinyIsWaiting's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did not know i had a hiatal hernia as well. My surgeon did not require an upper gi pre-op. My endoscopy was done before i had surgery and that is what they discovered it. They repaired it and then continued on to my sleeve surgery. I never had any kind of symptoms and from what my surgeon said it was one of the biggest my sugeon has repaired. -

My surgeon and NUT told me that at 2 months out i dont have to have a protien shake every day but at least for the next year i should try to have at least 4 a week. Your target protien should be between 60-80 grams calories between 600-800. If your working out then calories should be around 1000. You should check your insurance to see if you they will pay for NUT visits. i probably wouldnt mention you had surgery in Mexico. I am 7 weeks post op and during weeks 5-6 i was stalled out so i upped my calories and protien and after the second day of eating more i lost 4 lbs. i average between 70-80 grams of protien and about 700-800 calories a day. -
Protein smoothie!?
BeatrizS1974<3 sleeve replied to skinnyfate1004's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I add Fruit to my protien all the time to mix it up a bit! Eggface's blog has a bunch of really good recipes! I have had no problems with any of the fruits i have used like Strawberries, Bananas, Blueberries, mango. The only fruit i didnt enjoy was frozen raspberry. Those little seed things are pretty annoying. i didnt get sick or feel bad i just didnt like the seeds in my mouth and stuck in my teeth -

The vanilla is my favorite! You can do so much with it! To switch up the falvors I usually go get ideas from eggface's site! I did love the strawberry one pre-op now i find it too sweet! -

BeatrizS1974<3 sleeve replied to Thood's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
i too hit a 2 week stall (i am also 6 weeks post op) i upped my protein to 80 grams and my calories to 800 and over night i lost 4 lbs and have been losing every day. Day of surgery i was 203, i am currently 179. my goal is to be 115-125 depending on what i look like when i reach those numbers. I too was hoping to reach goal this summer and thought i would lose it faster but i am not complaining 1 bit. -
