  4. x-ray chic Please don't be discouraged! It does get easier and better once you get a "fill". I had my lap band Oct. 4, 2006 and have lost only 30 lbs, and you have already lost 15 lbs. in a short period of time. Sometimes it takes more than 1 fill (or that has been my experience) before the right tightness is made. I went thru the same thing before my 4th fill and then it all came together. Hopefully, you won't have to go thru that many. If you hang in there, you will see the pounds come off soon. So, wait until you get a fill or 2 and, I promise, you will feel better and won't get as hungry. Please don't be so hard on yourself.........15lbs. lost is nothing to sneeze at! Congratulations! I'm hoping that I helped you a little.....there are so many people with so much knowledge about lap band on this website that I know will help you. Hang in there.....wifeynana1947

So glad to have found this site!

Denise Thank you so very much for your warm welcome! Talk about someone doing well with their weight loss, but you are doing amazing well!!!! Congratulations!!!! I had to return to my doctor today and have some saline removed from my fill. I couldn't keep anything down........not even water........he told me that I was getting close to the right amount of saline in my lap band.......Not a pleasant experience....but, I am sure that I will do better, at least be able to keep food down, now. I can always get a "fill" later if I need one. I wouldn't wish a "too tight" lap band on anyone.....avoid at all costs! Thanks again for making me feel a part of this group. wifeynana1947
  6. Hi! This is my first post on this or any lap band site......I am so excited to have found it.......I had lap-band surgery l0/4/06 in Houston by Dr. Thomas of Nacogdoches, Tx. I live in Nacogdoches so I only had to go out of town for the surgery, not for the office visits/fills. I think that I have finally gotten the amount of "fill" correct and hopefully will lose weight at a faster pace. I have 50 lbs. to go!!! I know, these will be the hardest pounds of all to lose... I have been married for over 32 yrs. We have a daughter that is 28 yrs. old and working on "getting her life together"! And, we are raising our 6 yr. grandson who has ADHD and a couple of learning differences. He is the reason for me having the lap-band surgery............I want to be around to see him graduate from college..........he is absolutely the light of my life. I would like to hear from anyone that lives close to Nacogdoches or that had surgery by Dr. Thomas. (He is the best!) I really needed to talk to someone that understands what all you go thru with this surgery. Also, if I can help by answering any questions, please say so. wifeynana1947
