7 Months Out! 124 Lbs Lighter!
cassieh replied to cassieh's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I started walking the day I got home from the hospital and havent stopped since. At first I was only able to walk down my driveway now im jogging the neighborhood. Walk, walk, walk. I dont do protein shakes and never did. I just concentrate on high protein foods, low sugar and low carbs. I have never deprived myself of anything, I just make healthier choices. Oh, and dont forget to drink plenty of water. -

Well, she kinda hurt my feelings too. She said "mom, I use to be so embarrassed to go anywhere with u, but now im proud that your my mom. Your so pretty now". WOW. And thats one of the reasons I had this surgery. I dont ever want my kids to feel embarrassed by me. Im so thankful for het being so open and honest with me.

I was given blood thinners after surgery and I dont have a history. I think its routine to give the blood thinners. Also, I was not required to loose any weight either and I started at 330. But if your not 100% confident with your surgeon u may want to look around.

6Months Post Op Yesterday!
cassieh replied to cassieh's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Thanks everyone....it means so much to me that my words and results are encouraging. I know it's scary in the beginning and during pre-op, but it is so worth it in just a few months down the road. Life is new and different. I have found a new joy for life that had been buried beneath all that weight. I am really a "new" me. As far as tips go, its ruff for the first couple of weeks mentally more than physically. Or atleast it was for me. Just know that will pass and it does get better. Obey your surgeons rules. Sip water constantly and walk, walk, walk. Good luck to u all. -

Ok, this may not be important to some, but I did a summer sault today with my teenage girls. I landed in on point. I have not done that or even attemted it in over 20 yrs. Im 34 yrs old and I was outside flipping and jumping with my kids. WOW. cant describe that feeling to be able to play with my children like this. Its almost euphoric. What a blessing. Glory to God

How Does It Really Feel In 1St Week And 2Weeks Post Op.
cassieh replied to imran21in's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My first couple of wks was horrible. the pain which wasn't too bad to manage that it was the mental part that was horrible. I literally had to mourn the loss of food.... and take a step back and re-evaluate my relationship with food. Things started looking up around week 4. and now being six months out, I feel great. Also 110 lbs lighter. -
Ladies Only Question...
cassieh replied to ThinnerTiff's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have lost over 100 pounds and I say that there much longer than before yes I said longer. The girls dont sit too pretty anymore. Ive gone from a 48 DD to a 44D in 6 months. -
Its kinda bitter sweet to me , but yes everywhere I go but I seem to be getting treated differently. for example, today I was getting my car inspected and I got a lot more attention then I would have 6 months ago. on a part of me it makes me feel good, but on the other hand I'm like I'm still the same person I was 110 pounds ago.
-
I do alot of walking and weight lifting. maybe over time it will get better. Im good either way. I didnt have this surgery to look "hot", I was 330 lbs and dying. as long as im healthy I will deal with saggy skin.
-
Ive lost 110 lbs in 6 months. My loose skin is horrible. Under my arms is the worse. Im gonna work on it with exercise the best I can but I just accept it. Better than 330 lbs. No more surgery for me.
-
I would have much rather swallowed a camera rather than the disgusting barium. I think that was the worse part of this whole surgery. YUK!

How Much Did The Removed Portion Of Your Stomach Weigh?
cassieh replied to runner's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not sure how much mine weighed but he did tell me it was larger than a basketball. :-/ -
Sounds like dehydration to me. If u are out in the heat and sweat then u must compensate for the loss of water in your body and drink more. I went through the same thing in the beginning. Just be sure to sip, sip, sip. Good luck and im glad your feeling better.
