After 3 Months Out....
Lauranbob Mc replied to MKambalimath's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
there are some days i feel like I can eat all day and get 1200 calories in and then there are other days that I barely able to get 500 in. Instead of freaking myself out over it, on MFP go to the weekly totals and see if you are still in target range. some days I have way more carbs/fat than I should but I make it up on the other days of the week and I just make sure by the end of the week everything equals out, also, try not to graze, which doesnt keep us full very long. 3 meals and 2 snacks. good luck -

Blood When I Went To Bathroom?
Lauranbob Mc replied to vikkic's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
dark red blood comes from the upper GI tract (will be black & tarry stools) lower GI is usually bright red. Now if you are going to the bathroom and wiping your self and seeing blood on the TP or if there are streaks of blood in your stool. dont freak out. but if you are bleeding from your rectum (more than a half cup of bright red blood) and you can smell a GI bleed from a mile away then that is a medical emergency. As an ER nurse with many years of expierence I have seen many GI bleeds and people who freak out over a drop of blood in their stool. If you are constipated and have to strain that would also cause some blood in your stool. gross bloody diarrhea is a sign of colitis. This is not a medical diagnosis. I am replying to this post as a person to this forum who also happens to be a nurse. (my legal disclaimer) -

I travel a lot for work and take my magic bullet with me everywhere. I also pack pouches of tuna fish and I pick up grape tomato's at the market. That gets me thru 2 meals a day and I usually go out for dinner and order somthing with grilled or baked chicken.

The head hunger is harder to keep in check than the actual hunger. after the sleeve you will pick the meat from one mcdouble and not finish it from being so full. Hang in there.

Ok one good thing not to worry about. now call your OB/GYN in the morning you will be considered high risk.
-
Ok so I am understanding that you were 7 weeks pregnant when you got sleeved? right? didnt they do a pregnancy test prior to surgery? this is somthing that you are going to talk to your OB/GYN about. I dont know the implications of anesthesia during the first trimester and also you are going to be considered high risk since you can barely get enough nutrients in to sustain one life never mind two. I would call your OB in the morning

have you not been sleeved yet? and you are pregnant ? is this correct

Step 1 Locate the nutrition content of your food. Most food packages provide a descriptive nutrition label which contains carbohydrate information. However, if you cannot locate this information, then research the nutrition facts from an on-line database. Bad Food for Diabetes Foods to eat & avoid to control blood sugar. From Today Show expert www.JoyBauer.com Sponsored Links Step 2 Determine the number of total carbohydrates and total grams of Fiber. According to the 2002 edition of "Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution," fiber, glycerin, sugar alcohols and polydextrose, which are included in the total grams of carbohydrates, have a minimal impact on blood sugar levels and are, therefore, not included in the calculation of net carbs. Nevertheless, not all critics agree on the effects of sugar alcohols, like the Mayo Clinic which focuses on total carbs and total fiber to compute net carbs. In other words, whether you choose to include sugar alcohol, polydextrose and glycerin information is subjective to you. Step 3 Subtract the total grams of fiber from the total grams of carbohydrates to calculate net carbohydrates. Time to go to the ED. Make sure it is the hospital that did your surgery because your surgeon wil be affilliated with that hospital. even if it is not a leak with you not drinking they will give you a bag or two of fluids to get you re-hydrated. good luck
