Hello all, I hav'nt been on for a few months. A LOT has happened. Wow, where to begin.... 1 week post op I had a leak, emer. surg that night to "clean out" abd cavity & try & repair. From that point on, I was in & out of hosp. about 8-10 times, 2 gastric stents (so leak could heal), lung tapped due to 80% fluid build up, then 5 hrs away to another hospital for a new procedure to fix leak. Along w/ that I had 4 Picc lines put in (kept having probs; finally last 1 worked) & alot of TPN (for nutrition). I actually kept positive through it-prob all the narcotics! j/k-but finally allowed myself to "grieve" the struggles I had. So as of now, I'm good. I am eating limited mushies, getting exercise & working-which I desperately needed to get back to for sanity sake! AND I'm down 80 lbs from pre surg and 100+ lbs from very start! I was petrified of getting a leak & I got one. BUT, all in all, I would do it again. You would be surprised what you can deal with once its handed to you So thats my story so far. If anyone is having a tough time, feel free to messsage me.

Anyone been sleeved in the Northern Virginia Area
BuBsmama replied to drey's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I too had my sleeve w/ Bluepoint (Dr moazzez). I am almost a week out and feel great. No complications or complaints. I live I Winchester Va and I made a point NOT to have my surgery at Winchester Med center. Hopefully that gets my point across as to how highly I recommend Blue point/Fair oaks. Good Luck -
Hi all. I'm 3 days post op and almost feel normal. Well except not wanting to eat...but thats why we're all here, right?! No complications with surgery but my Doc said really needed this surgery because my liver and spleen were very enlarged. His words "it was congested in there". So not a moment too soon. As far as getting liquid in, well I have only had water, sf powerade and started yesterday with prot shakes-maybe a total of 20-30 g. My point is, I have increased my intake but I am not going to push it. Dont fret if you cant get it all in. I dont see how we could! Hang in there to all March Sleevers

Hello all! I just joined and am having my surgery 3/27. I am VERY excited and have not been nervous once. I feel like I should, esp when people ask over and over "are you nervous?". I am so glad I found this website-its great to have others to relate to. I also have a wonderful family and supportive friends (& even some negative nellies :tongue2: ). I hope everyone else does too-its so important. thx for listening
