Cindy, Congratulations on your decision to be banded...that is the first step....I went thru the insurance run around and was denied by two different insurance companies....finally, I decided to self-pay...$15,000.00 and worth every penny..I would do it again tomorrow....I love my band....I was banded in 4/07 and I have lost 62 lbs..

Exercise really makes it come off so much faster...and get your mind on something other than food...stay busy and don't eat from boredom...get your mind set that you are going to exercise everyday....if you can only walk for 15 minutes..that raises your metabolism and you will see a difference...I bought the "walk away the pounds" Leslie Sansone...they are great...I started with the one mile...now, I walk the fast 3 mile workout..I have lost 62 lbs since April....working out really helps you ...( my ticker shows 57 lbs lost, but I have lost 62) come to this site often and go to the chat room...there is so much support here...

It depends on who is paying...Insurance or you??? I went in on Monday and sched. surgery for two weeks later...

I was a self-pay and I had to do very little...I was not required to do all the things that you have to do when the insurance is paying..that was fine by me....I went in on Monday and told them I would self pay, two weeks later I had the band put on....I had dealt with the insurance co and been denied two years prior, so self pay was the only way I knew to go...

hello and welcome to LBT(lap band talk)...sounds like you have a great plan lined out..just hang in there and move forward..it is a wonderful journey...I pray that your insurance will pay...some will, some won't...mine didn't...but I can tell you , it is the best thing I have ever done for myself..I would pay another $15,000.00 and do it again...

I took off a couple of weeks...I was very sore and I do have to do lifting and tugging, so ....I took two weeks off...

Hang in there all of you new bandsters...it will get better...the first couple of weeks are kinda tough....but once the sorness has left you will feel much better...

Nancy, Hang in there...don't eat before you are supposed to....stay well hydrated and just don't give up....the first couple of weeks are the hardest...it will get easier..and you will be so glad that you stuck with it...you don't want to mess up your band..so follow the rules...

You are normal...I was so worried all the time about the band slipping or doing something wrong...I finally called the doctors office and told them I had a huge knot in my stomach where the large incision was at...the nurse laughed and laughed..she said, "honey, that is your port"...I didn't know you would be able to feel it ,once the swelling went down...I was scared all the time...the nurse told me...don't worry, you would really have to do something bad to mess up this band....so I kinda chilled out and now six months later, I am very relaxed with my band...

My insurance would not pay, so I did...$15,000.00 and worth every penny...I would do it again tomorrow...all my fills are paid for the first year....

Way to go...doesn't that just make you feel great? I love getting into smaller sizes...I have gone from an 18 to 12/14...not in jeans, but in the stretch type of pants...I haven't bought any jeans, yet....

go back to basics....eat small meals(half a cup), stay well hydrated, and exercise.....make good choices....remember to not drink with your meals, wait one hour after eating before drinking....once I started exercising, I really started to see the lbs come off....good luck....
