To get a ticker...you can click on mine and it should take you to the "Ticker Factory" or you can type in Ticker Factory in your search area and you will be taken there...just follow directions to make your own and then you copy the code and paste in the signature area...I went to the edit your signature....and pasted it there...

Hi new to boards not banded yet

Sophie, I pray that your insurance will pay for the banding...Maybe, it will....Don't give up...I was denied by insurance company, a couple of years ago, and after much debate with myself, I decided I would pay cash for surgery...$15,000.00 but it is worth every penny....I would do it again...best money I have ever spent on myself.... Even if you are not banded, you can still come to the site to read and post...maybe there will be some tips here that could help you convince your insurance company to pay for surgery...some people appeal the first denial and are banded...I knew a girl that sent a letter every week for months and the insurance company approved her for surgery...It could happen for you.... Di

    New Member as of today!!!!!

Mike, Sorry you have been denied...I was denied two years ago with insurance company, so I decided in April to go the self pay direction...It was worth every single penny...I would do it again...I know that it is a lot of money, but I am worth it...and I am glad I did this for me.... Good luck to you...I hope that you will be able to be banded...either by insurance pay, or self pay...

    I wanna band!!

I don't know....I am a self pay, so I didn't have to meet any insurance demands...they denied me a few years ago, so I decided to self pay...My doctor says you don't have to be a certain amount of pounds overweight...you know, they use to say you had to be a 100 lbs overweight...that was not a problem for me, because I was plenty overweight.... Sorry I can't help you with your question, but I do wish you the very best....

    I can't feel my port!!

I can feel mine, now....the first few weeks after surgery I couldn't really feel it...I knew that the large incision was more painful than the others, but I didn't know that was where the port was...I thought it would be on the left side down low....I called the doctors office and asked the nurse was I supposed to have a large lump under the large incision...she just laughed, and laughed and said," yea, that is your port.".. Picture in booklet didn't show the port up that high...it looked like it was hanging down low on left side...I was so relieved...I thought something had ruptured....I was so nervous with every move...Now....I am finally relaxed with this procedure...
  21. No, I was not drug tested....

    Ugh, I'm getting scared!

I think it is very normal to be nervous and excited at the same time..I know I was so nervous, but all went well and I couldn't be happier...good luck to you...and I am so excited for you....get ready for a new journey in life....

    Throwing up 2 days out

I hope you are feeling better soon...glad you called your doctor...and glad that he was okay with what you were eating...I was on just liquids for two weeks after surgery....
  24. Congratulations....I am excited for you and Faithmd....Hope each of you do well....
  25. Just try to relax...just take sips of Water when you can...if you are one week out, are you allowed to drink broth? Try to get a little nourishment and just continue to drink your water...I dranked skim milk and water for the two weeks after...oh, and slim fast...of course I could only drink a few ounces at a time, but it helped with the hydration....The first few weeks for me was a little shaky, but I am 4 weeks out now and am doing fine...no pain...I can eat a half a cup of food at a time....I eat three meals a day ...1/2 cup servings...no sugar,no caffene...I feel pretty good... Hope you are feeling better soon...It just takes a few weeks to really start feeling good....
