To all that are being banded this coming week....Good luck to each and everyone of you...I pray that all goes well and you will be here posting, telling us all about your surgery....You will all be just fine...take it easy for the first few days...don't try to rush yourself....just relax....You are getting ready for bandland.....YAHOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Sunny, I think it is perfectly normal to be excited and nervous...I was a nervous wreck....I wasn't scared to have the surgery, I was afraid that something would happen and I couldn't have the surgery... After the sugery the pain is not that bad...you are uncomfortable, but not in a screaming type of pain.......take your pain meds and you will be fine...and remember, walk, walk, walk, and take the liquid gas-x...you will be just fine....I am so excited for you....I wish that everyone that wants and needs the band could get it done...I hate that the insurance companies are hard on some...I was denied, but did self-pay and had it done anyway.....I am so glad that I did.... Be sure to post and let us know how you are doing....good luck...I will be thinking of you on Thursday....

Welcome to LBT....this is such a great group of caring people...I have found that if you have any questions, someone in this group can answer them.....they are super.....good luck on your new journey...you will be a bandster before you know it....

Mine growls....and growls loudly......I was so afraid that it would start growling really loud in church...that would have been so embarrassing...

Wannabeslim, I think that this is the very best thing I have ever done for myself...I was banded on 4/6/07 and had first fill on 5/17/07..I have lost 30 lbs...I love the band...keeps me on track...tells me when I over eat...gives me real hope....

I don't know that I would try to explain it to them....I would do what I needed to do for myself, and don't worry about anyone else...Your concern right now should be all about you....if you have never had this attitude, you need to have it now.....for once in your life, do something for you....

I am also a self-pay and I have no idea what would happen if something goes wrong...

Well, I am not all that seasoned of a bandster, but I have been banded....you will be fine...I was so scared...I got sick to my stomach just thinking about the surgery....it turned out fine....take your liquid gas-x and walk, walk, walk, and take little sips of water for the first day....just little sips....don't gulp....and take your meds...that is why the doctor gives them to you...or well, why you pay for them.....I took my pain meds for several days...I don't like pain, and had no intentions of suffering....I am such a wimp...I was not ashamed to say I needed my pain medication.....I didn't care if I couldn't drive...I had no where to go...except on my couch in the den...

Congrats on your new banding date....I hope that all goes well....

I feel like such a slug.....I have not been walking on treadmill like I should, nor working out with weights...okay, time to get motivated...thanks for the inspiration.....I am going to get busy.....

I know you must be so frustrated...hang in there....it will be worth it...

Janell, Just eat slowly and take small bites.....don't try to force the food....chew,chew, chew.......as soon as you feel full, stop.....don't eat anymore....you may still feel just a bit hungry, but after a few seconds, you will be full.....don't eat anymore.....

Mary Rose, Mine was 4/6/07....I am sorry to hear that your first fill was not an easy one....maybe the nurse will be easier on you...hope so...

Syrah, Not really...I am still eating just a half a cup per meal....so nothing has really changed for me...

You will have swelling for several days...maybe even a couple of weeks...I did....I took liquid gas-x for several days after surgery...after that, all went well....you are still probably just healing from surgery....it was only a week on Wed....that is not long....hang in there....you will be fine....

Welcome to LBT(Lap Band Talk).....this is an awesome site...I wish I would have known about it before I had my surgery....so much info and it really is a very caring group of people..... Hope you get to have your surgery soon....

I can't vote on this...I was only banded on 4/6/07, but I have not put one bite of anything sweet in my mouth since I started this journey...I try to eat only healthy foods...protein is my main focus....I want to get the right amount everyday.....I eat my dairy products and veggies...

Stacey, I did have back pain, but it was from a hernia being repaired...they repaired the hernia when they put the lapband on...that is the only back pain I had...

Good for you...now it is your turn to take the amazing journey...proud for you.....
