New at this. Got my date one day down on diet.
Big As Life replied to sunlight575757's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congratulations....that is great....hang in there....I did the two week liquid pre-op....same diet...slim fast for four days, then able to have a small green salad, with ff dressing....I lost 14 lbs on pre-op diet...that just gave me a jump start and I was so anxious to have the surgery...you will make it thru the liquid diet....just stay well hydrated...drink as much water as you can....and again, congratulations....come to the site often....you will get lots of support from everyone here... -
Yes, you are still in the healing process....My doctor said not to worry about weight loss for the first month....you are still swollen on the inside and you are healing....Some say you don't lose until the first fill, some don't lose until after the 3rd fill....each person is different....it has only been two weeks and five days...you are probably eating mushie foods right now, just don't eat more than you are supposed to....I was told not to eat more than a half a cup....and that is all I eat...I eat three times a day, no in between eating and I eat no sweets... I try to drink as much water as possible, and I am trying to exercise....but at two weeks almost three weeks out you might not even be up to exercising , yet... Just hang in there....you will lose....and my advice to you, don't weigh yourself everyday....I only weigh a couple of times a week...I don't want to get crazy over the numbers.....I stick to the plan and try my best to make good choices, but I am not going to weigh every single day....

Welcome to LBT and congrats on your decision to be banded...I know you hate the wait,(and the weight) but it will be so worth it....just think you will really be prepared for the new journey....Hang in there and I bet the six months will just fly by..... To get your Ticker....type in tickerfactory.com in your search engine and follow the directions to add a ticker to your signature box...

Big As Life replied to Stephiewheps's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats...that is great...and on the 4th of July....yea, now you can celebrate independence day...I am happy for you.....best thing I have ever done for myself....I am 54 years old and I was banded on 4/6/07 and I have lost 34 lbs....so glad I had this procedure done... -
It sounds like you already know what you need to do....You have a plan, so just go from there.....Don't beat yourself up, just start over....this is so worth it...I hope that coming to LBT will help you..there are so many kind people here....and you need to know that you are not alone....what you are going thru, someone else has already been there.....good luck...please keep coming to the site and post with the rest of us....

Welcome to LBT.....congrats on your surgery date...that is great... To get your ticker on your post, go to the usercp, that is on the top of this page(above your first post) and click on that....go to edit signature...once you have that , you need to copy and paste the url from the ticker and paste it in your signature box....once you get to edit your signature, you will see a place to put the url....so you will need to go back to where you fixed your ticker and get the url code and copy it, then go to edit your signature and paste that code in signature box....good luck.....if you need any help, just email me at cdhagood@cableone.net.. . I will try to help....

Why R U Running To Get A Fill
Big As Life replied to kadrianmatthews's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
When they put the band in, it is empty....you don't get the fill until after six weeks....that makes your stomach smaller....that is what makes the band work...the fills.... -
does she look like Rachael Ray to you?

I think you are perfectly normal in having these doubts and fears...I was nervous, but I was so afraid something would happen and I couldn't have the surgery.. For me, I knew this was something that I had to do for myself....I didn't want to live the rest of my life, fat...I wanted to get the band and get the weight off....don't worry about not eating...after you have been banded for five weeks, you will be able to eat...not as much as you use to, but you are still able to eat and feel full....the difference is you won't want to eat...you will feel full and you are probably thinking , five weeks.....wow...trust me...it is not that bad...the weeks go by and you have already been banded, so you are not as hungry as you use to be....you will be just fine...I don't miss any food....there are some restrictions, pop-corn, white bread, pineapple, okay, cokes....that is okay...I can live without these foods...nothing taste as good, as losing weight....I have lost 32 lbs and I don't miss anything...I am able to eat and feel full...that is all that matters...the first few weeks is kinda a challenge, but after that , it is so much easier...or at least it was for me.... I wish you all the luck in the world...I hope that you are happy after your banding...I would go do it again tomorrow....and I have only been banded since 4/6/07....so it is still fresh in my mind what the surgery and post- op diet was like...

Mark, How on earth do you come up with these lines??? You are a "hoot"...
-
no, I didn't have any leg cramps...I would call my doctor and tell them....
-
Welcome to LBT..so yesterday was the big day...congrats...I hope you are feeling good...let us know how you are doing???
-
congrats on your banding and your wife's banding...that is great...you can be a great support team for each other.... So glad you started this thread...I don't feel that God is upset with me for getting the band...I have allowed a surgeon to use a tool in me that will help me....I had open heart surgery and didn't feel that God was upset about that...He gave the surgeons the wisdom and knowledge to do the procedures, and I feel he allowed me to take advantage of their wisdom and knowledge....I am so thankful he did....

Carlene, That is great...I bet it did "make your day"...what a great thing to do for those kids....Not everyone would take the time to help out a teenager that needs a shoulder to cry on....You must have a big heart....
