Mine has been hurting lately too. I just keep trying to massage it and not lay on it funky. I hope mine isn't flipped, but without ever having a fill, who knows what my surgeon will find on the screen when I finally do.

Hi Jenna! Happy Birthday!!!
-
Oh yeah! Gotta love those bell shorts. NOT!!! I have the same problem with length too. I hate hoochie mama short shorts that come up high between my thighs and ride up all of the way with each and every step that I take. I gotta have the longer ones that come almost down to my knees just so that that DOESN'T happen. Thank God I still have these ones I'm wearing now. And luckily I bought 2 pairs (just different colors) back when I got them. I think I bought them from Roman's or Lane Bryant back in the day, and they are the longer inseam, with the 20 inch overall length too! They're a bit big on me now, but who cares! They cover my fat legs and are comfie! Gotta love it!

Me neither. I was wondering the same thing. I know she said she's been busy lately, so maybe she's wrapped up in work?

How awesome! Best of luck to both of you!!!

Hello The Band Fam!
dylansmom replied to BandSupporter's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi & welcome! It's so refreshing to see the family member of a fellow bandster on here! How cool is that!!!! Let me just say how awesome I think you are for giving Nikkee the support that she needs right now. I too am so grateful to my own mother, who not only was the one to suggest WLS to me, but to support me from the beginning to end. She has been to appointments with me, watched my son for me, and has been cheering me on the whole time. All this while she herself struggles with her own weight issues. (She doesn't have a high enough BMI too be banded here in the US, so sadly that isn't an option for her.) Anyway.....thanks again for being such a wonderful sister. It means the world to us who are struggling to get our weight under control, and who are having to adjust to the new freedoms that we now feel with each melting pound. YOU ROCK!!!! -
Good luck on your journey to becoming healthier!
-
Ditto to what Marie (New Hope) said. I had all of those reasons, plus I want more children. I knew this surgery would be a non issue when it came to my future pregnancies. Good luck in whatever you decide. I have posted a thread about all of the different kinds of weightloss surgeries at the top of the list on this board. I hope it helps you. ~Kelly

Don't look down on us because we are fat!
dylansmom replied to TrishS's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Amen to what you said Trish! I think that sometimes people are taken back a bit when they realize that I won't put up with their crap! (aka- my spicey personality!) I honestly can't wait for my doctor's office to call me back and say that I can come in and talk to the doctor again. I'll tell them in as polite of a way as I know how, that I don't need their referral now. Kinda makes me wonder if I'm being put off by (my old doctor too) and now this one because of my weight? HHHHMMMM If feels so good to take control of that situation and have the last laugh. Haaaa Haaaaa!!!!! -
WHAT?!?!?! NO WAY!!!!! I LOVED that show!!!! I will definately have to sign the petition RIGHT NOW!!! I sure hope they'll bring it back. GRRR!!!!!
-
Congratulations!!! I'm so excited that everything went well for you, and that you are starting out in your journey to a healthier and happier you! You go girl!!!

Trish, I didn't have to, but I did. Mine was more related to the all of the sicknesses I had and being in the hospital, getting dehydrated from the sicknesses, etc.. (The viral flu, pericarditis, etc.) I still from time to time will drink some Powerade if I feel like I'm not getting enough to drink, or if I'm not feeling well. Powerade isn't high in sodium or calories, and tastes great too. I hope this helps some. ~Kelly

That's my goal too Paula! I still want to lose at least 80 more pounds before getting pregnant again. We currently have one child, and that pregnancy was smooth, except for the mild case of gestational diabetes I had. Not too much to complain about, considering I was over 300 lbs. then! Good luck to you, and hopefully we'll both succeed!!! ~Kelly

Good for you! That's wonderful!

I found this online tonight and wanted to post it. I figured that it would help those who are still researching which choice is right for them. I hope it helps. <TABLE style="BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse" borderColor=#f5938a cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=6 width="95%" border=1><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top colSpan=2> The Sapala-Wood Micropouch® Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Operation <TABLE cellPadding=10 width="99%"><TBODY><TR><TD align=middle width="29%"></TD><TD width="71%">In the Sapala-Wood Micropouch® operation the very top of the stomach is completely divided. There are some specific risks associated with bariatric surgery. <LI class=v9>10-20% of patients who have weight-loss operations require follow-up operations to correct complications. Less common complications include breakdown of the staple line and stretched stomach outlets. <LI class=v9>More than one-third of obese patients who have gastric bypass surgery develop gallstones. Bandsters group at Yahoo... SandyRN gone.. COME BACK!!!
dylansmom replied to katerzz's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've never posted at any other boards than this one, and one other, not mentioned above. I almost think I'm glad that I never found those other boards from the sounds of what was written above. I feel like such a family member here, and on the other one that I post at, and that's always been such a key factor for me. I like feeling like I belong to one huge culturally and ethnically diverse group of people whom I can call my family. Skin color, opinions, cultural upbringing, and religion have nothing to do with why I love all of you here. I love all of you because you're kind, caring, and loving people, just like myself. You've all taught me so much, and have given a glimpse into what it is like to be you. It's taught me to listen a little more, love with an open heart, and to give back everything that I can. Thank you to my lovely LBT family. You are all wonderful people, and I couldn't feel more happy and honored to be amongst you, my banded, soon to be banded, and want to banded family.
