Don't feel too badly Spydr. Hubby and I used to be huge (no pun intended) fans of WWE and I would always feel horrible inside knowing that I (a woman) weighed more than most of those in shape wrestlers!!! It was always hard to watch those beautiful divas come out, but especially hard when they would say nasty things about fat people.

I'm in the 100 lb club.. FINALLY!!!
dylansmom replied to La_madam's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Congratulations!!! -
To avoid PBs - chew small pieces of food very thoroughly and avoid foods that you know have given you problems in the past. If you're just starting out then it'll be a trial and errer thing.

I love this thread! With all of the packing, spazzing out over dealing with ringworm, washing of bedding, clothing, and towels each day, and daily chores on top of it all, my mind has been anything but focused on losing more weight and working with my band. I SO needed to hear this. I NEED to get my butt exercising again, and also to start paying attention to better food choices and full signals again too. The exercise will probably help relieve some of this stress, plus will compliment my daily supplement intake as well. I also have my Protein drink that is just sitting there in the bucket, and I need to start doing all of that again too. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!! With never having a fill I really need to get back to basics!

PB can also refer to when your food gets stuck and your body begins to produce slime (which comes back up in your mouth) but the food gets unstuck and goes through with no further problems. I guess that there are different levels of severity with the PBs.

I LOVE Sci-Fi stuff!!! As a matter of fact, Stargate is one of my all time favorite shows. I will definately have to rent this one when it comes out on DVD. It sounds like a winner!

*SING WITH ME NOW!* What do you do with a scurvy pirate? What do you do with a scurvy pirate? What do you do with a scurvy pirate? Make them walk the plank! OH - Make them walk the plank!!! Here's wishing you the happiest birthday a captain could ever dream of having me heartie!!! ARGH!!!

I've yet to have a fill, so for me bread isn't an issue yet. I will admit that pre-banding I was a bread addict, but now after banding I hardly give it the time of day. It just really isn't on my short list of daily must haves anymore. I do however occassionaly enjoy a piece of toast with a pat of butter, or a tortilla wrap with baked chicken strips or taco meat & fixings in it. I say follow your instincts. Take it slow and see if you can handle it. If after getting my first fill I can no longer handle eating wraps or toast I'll just learn to live without it.

Good for you! I haven't had a day alone in I don't know how long either! Enjoy every last minute!

Calling People Who Cook Mexican Meals
dylansmom replied to Iluvharleys's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am on a mexican kick myself lately, so that recipie for tortilla soup sounds amazing! I am not a fan of hot/spicey stuff - but I sure love mexican food without the spice!!! I honestly think that if I had to choose just one culture's food to eat from for the rest of my life, I would choose mexican. My husband is friends with a guy who had a mexican girlfriend and let me tell you - the woman can cook!!!!!! We've gotten tamales and elephant ears and other things from her before and it is all absolutely divine!!! -
Cool new product found!!If you like Fruit2O

Thank you for posting this! I love the peach tea Crystal Light, but the aspartame in it gives me migranes, so I sadly had to stop drinking it. I will definately give this a try! -
eggs are great, aren't they! When others here told me that they can't eat eggs anymore because they cause PB episodes I thought that they were off their rockers! Then when it happened to me while eating scrambled eggs (with no fill mind you) I believed them, and suddenly they didn't seem so nuts anymore!!! A word to the wise......please be careful eating those eggies! Especially the scrambled type. They can sure cause one heck of a PB!
-
OH!!! It looks like you figured it out without me! Good for you! That sure is one beeeeeaaaaauuuuutiful eggie!
-
OH I love anigamals! Little chicks are the sweetest things! If you need help posting pics I can try to describe step by step how to do it. Give them lots of hugs and kisses from me!

We prefer Powerade in this house, and that's just because of the better flavors that they offer. We especially like the Fruit Punch (red) one, and also the Orange one. Those 2 are our favs, and very mild tasting. Good luck to you with your surgery!

I hope it's the best birthday you've ever had! Have a happy, happy day!

Wow. Jack has just totally amazed me once again. He is such a fount of wisdom on this topic, and I couldn't have said it better myself. I too had a similar experience in my younger years. I was engaged to a guy for all of a month or 2 and found out that he just wanted to up and call everything off. I was stunned, I was crushed, I couldn't believe that he could do that to me. And when I moved back into the area after college I even thought of hooking up with him again. We took a walk, and we talked.....and I knew right away that not being with him was the best thing that could've ever happened to me. Years later I found out that he had lied to me about many things, and possibly even cheated on me. Now I'm happily married to a man who works hard, loves me for who and what I am, doesn't run around on me, doesn't abuse me (Had another boyfriend who did that), and doesn't drink or do drugs. I count my blessings everyday that things didn't work out with Mr. Whatshisname. I know it's hard at first, but please keep your chin up. You are strong, you are beautiful, and you deserve more in your life than him. You will get through this - and you will be a stronger, better woman for it in the end.

My friend is having a sex toy party on the 8th and has invited me. Maybe I'll get some of it to try. Although my hair is army, navy, air force, marines short now.

Does not having a nervous breakdown in the midst of packing, moving, dealing with all of us having ringworm, etc. count? LOL If so, that's my NSV for this week.
-
So sorry to hear of your loss. May her memory be preserved in your heart and soul forever.

Count me in too. I think everyone here knows my sap of a story, so I won't bore any of you with the crappy details. (Because life is much happier now) I'm 11 months out of surgery on the 8th of Oct. and have only lost about 30 pounds since being banded. I'm still waiting for my first fill, so no telling when I'll be losing more. My greatest NSV? I guess that I'm still alive and don't weigh over 300 pounds anymore. (No offense meant to those who still weigh over that by any means. We all have to start somewhere!)

OMG Jamie and Trish you 2 have me laughing so hard here! I'm sitting here in my chair just a crackin up!!! Instead of the perfume, how about stepping away from the Lysol? That way you can disinfect and smell pretty both! Sorry Trishie, I couldn't resist! Hugs To You!

Oh I loooooooooovvvvvvvvve black beans! I avoided them for such a very long time because they sounded yucky. I was so pleasantly surprised the first time I ever incorporated them into a taco! Now I think if I was forced to choose one food as a staple for everyday eating, it would be my black beans! Just call me La Seniorita pour favour! (I probably spelled that wrong, and I apologize to anyone of hispanic origin if I totally botched it.) Spanish is next on my list of things to learn!
