OMG! You poor thing!!! I think I'd be a totally whacked out nut job by now if I had to stare at those day in and day out just calling my name continuously! Honey, I'm here if you need me. You can cry on my shoulder, you can write poems about how much and how badly you want one, and I can soothe you all the while singing coom-bye-ah. Hold strong my dear, hold strong!

Proof that Carbonation Can Damage a Band
dylansmom replied to DeLarla's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Out of sheer curiousity, what is Pepsi Max? I'm from the US and have never heard of it. (I think you're in Austrailia, right?) -
Oh Lord! Isn't that the freekin truth!

so... i dont want to wait a year now
dylansmom replied to katerzz's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I feel your pain. We went for years being the only ones without a child in our circle of friends, family, and acquaintances. It totally sucked. 4 miscarriages and 7 long years later, along came our beautiful son Dylan. He is such a miracle for us. I say do what you feel is right in your heart. I wish you all of the luck in the world! -
Sounds good! I'd have to leave out the bell pepper and chiles though. Those are 2 things no matter how many times I try, I just can't find an acquired taste for. At least I try though!

I love Taco Bell. I Hate Taco Bell.
dylansmom replied to ReneBean's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
OH boy! I like the Bell too, and have slowly moved away from McD, BKing, and Wendy's. Once in a blue moon I'll have me a burger, and usually enjoy. Sometimes though I think, this isn't as good as I remember it being. That is usually the whopper. Thought it was bliss before banding, now not so much. We just had the Bell last week for the first time in forever, and now after reading this I deeply regret it! UGH! Won't be doing that again! I think for now I MUST stick to my home cooked meals. I think I hear some Tempeh, Seitan, Tofu, and a little Quinoa & Flax calling my name. -
Dr. Deol did my surgery almost a year ago and I have nothing but extreme gratitude and admiration for her and Rebecca both. I cannot recommend her enough to anyone who asks!

Unbanded............... To many problems
dylansmom replied to Dannie's Darlin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
So sorry to hear about you losing your band. Like some of the others have said, please stick around for support. We'll all be here for you and do what we can to support you anyway - band or not. -
CONGRATULATIONS T-BONE!!! How awesome! I'm so happy for you!

Yep, I agree with Jenna. My surgeon said that if I wanted diet after surgery I could have it flat. I've always hated diet pop, and aspartame gives me migranes anyway. It's totally not worth it to me. If I really feel like I need a drink of pop now I have it. But only 1 drink. Anything beyond that feels like too much of a risk of slippage to me now.

I use my Watkins extracts in Water to give it different flavors, without adding any sugar, calories, or fake sweeteners to it. I'm sitting here sipping on a glass of water with some strawberry extract in it as we speak! The exracts are $4 and some odd cents/bottle, and last quite a while because I'm only using a little in each glass. Plus it tints the water a cool color too so it looks pretty. LOL

Ha Ha! You're hilarious!

Oh my Lord! I literally almost started crying when I saw the damage done not only to the beach area, but in all of the other pictures too! I am from MI and we do not have twisters like that here, so I've honestly never seen damage like that before. We get smaller tornado like cells that have passed through here, or near here, but nothing ever like that. I thank the good Lord that you and all of your family are safe and sound and back in your home. And praise God that you moved out of that other house! What protection HE gives! Lots of Love To You!

Congratulations T-Bone!!!!!

I LOVED that! We all need each other.

Sue's Pending Lapband Removal...very, Very Long.
dylansmom replied to GeezerSue's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I wish you all my best for your future. No matter what you do, I hope that it all works out perfectly for you. Please Take Care -
Sorry Kathy. You must've been replying at the same time I was. LOL

Yes, starting over is just going back to square one and doing the things that helped us be successful back when we first had our bands "installed". These can include but are not limited to: eating slowly, chewing thoroughly, cutting pieces nice and small, making sure we're getting in our daily Protein first, having "treats" in moderation, etc. It's basically just being good to ourselves again. Hope that helps.

Well, sorry everyone but the stress of today overtook me and I had 1 tiny sip of that orange sunkist pop. I shouldn't have, but I did. At least I didn't drink half a bottle like I would've done in the past. I am getting better anyway!
-
I also had tears forming in my eyes. You show such amazing strength and tenacity. I admire your spirit and thank you for sharing your story.

I am so proud of you! You are the bandster that I wish I was (well, and Michelle too). You have been such an inspiration to me. You are slow to speak (meaning you are intelligent in thinking things through before you talk), quick to show compassion (to anyone who needs it), and basically impress the heck out of me!!! You are the kind of woman that when you talk, I love to listen - because I know that it'll be important enough to listen to! Kudos to you - mega props, mega props. You are one wonderful woman in my book!

There is Sunkist orange pop sitting in my fridge (thanks to my dear husband) and I want to take a drink of it sooooooooo badly!!! I'm doing ok with just trying to focus on other things though, so I should be ok. Kelly, step away from the pop!!!! *Keeping image of band slipping in the back of my mind*

Oh my goodness you're back!!! I have been wondering how you're doing and if you were all settled back into your home safe and sound now. It's so good to see you back because I've missed you so much more than any words can say. I love you girl!!!!

Oh you poor thing! I cannot imagine the pain you have suffered and am so sorry for you. I suffered with gallbladder attacks for over a year before seeing a doctor who knew what the heck he was doing. I am still so grateful to him, and the surgeon who removed my gallbladder. It was a horrible experience in and of itself, let alone what you are going through!
