I like black or cream (off white, ivory, bone, etc. too many names for this one color - LOL) with brown. I have a pair of brown slacks and a brown sweater that matches it. I like to wear either a cream shirt or black shirt with it. I think the cream color really sets it off nicely though. It's a nice contrast.

Needing a hug and a kick in the pants...long posts

I'm very sorry that you lost your gma. Please be gentle with yourself. It sounds like you are doing wonderfully at getting back on track, so no worries. Take Care -
She looks so amazing! I can't imagine being that thin! (I know I never will be due to large bones) I'll be happy if I can even get down to a 12 or 14.

That's great! Thanks for the laugh!

I posted about this in the lobby too, but nobody noticed. I salute our vets AND active duty big time! Thank you all for preserving our freedoms!

Oh they are sooooo adorable!!!

Aw, poor girl! I know that feeling all too well myself. Then when it's done I'm sitting there going, "What in the heck did I just do to myself & why?!?!?! Take heart - I'm sure most of us here can attest to doing that exact same thing. Our heads all get a loose connection from time to time. Hugs

Yeah, I like that name better too, Maccus. I may have to call it that from now on too, just to get a rise out of people. It'll be fun to see the bewildered look on their faces, and then tell them, "That's what my aussie friends call it. Doesn't it sound sooooo much nicer?" LOL My aunt calls Target - Tar-jay, with the j making a ju sound, like the french speak. She says it sounds prettier. LOL

I'm so "jealousing" over the fact that you got to see Santana Vines! Oh that man makes my heart skip a beat! I haven't been to a ton of concerts, but here's the ones I can remember: Annie Herring (twice), DC Talk (back when I was a teenager), the guys that sing that song "I think I'm in Love Now" (sorry, couldn't remember their names - that was back when I was a teen too), and the most memorable one (unfortunately) was huge - Snoop Dog, Eminem, Ice Cube, Warren G, Dr. Dre, D12, and the whole gang they had there. It was the Up In Smoke Tour back in 2000. Yes, I'm a new creation now. LOL *blushes sheepishly at my scandalous past* I almost went to go see Celine Dion, and now I wish I would've. That woman makes me cry just because her voice is so beautiful. She is so gifted.

Good luck and you can do it!!!

Thank you for sharing your story. It's amazing what reprocussions one thing can turn into when it comes to our bodies, isn't it? Even if this saves 1 person from troubles, it'll be worth you posting and sharing. Thank you for your willingness to do so. Best Wishes to You, ~Kelly

Welcome to LBT & best of luck to you!

It hurts because you now have a small pouch that fills up first. There's a lot less room to be "filled up", so that's why it hurts quicker. On rare occassions I'll have a sip or 2, but I gave up drinking whole cans at a time, simply because I'm freaked about slipping my band. I wonder if too much pressure builds up in there from the gas if it could cause a slip? I don't want to find out, so I've set and abide by my own rules/limits.

My band is great and has changed my life .......
dylansmom replied to jillrn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
because......... There's too much to say here! I now have hope that one day I'll be under 200 pounds, I can now play on the floor with my son, I no longer worry about not being around to see my grandchildren, I feel better about myself emotionally & physically, I'm no longer standoffish with people due to my excessive weight, and I could go on forever. It's given me a new life already! -
I don't have any sage advice to offer, I just wanted to say that I'm happy to see you, I'm worried for you, and I hope that you get better VERY soon. I'm here if you need me girl.

Is There A Thing As Too Much Research?
dylansmom replied to Spydr's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think you answered your own question very well. It's funny that a year out from surgery, I've found that the things I was afraid would happen to me didn't, and the things I wasn't prepared for at all, were the things that happened. LOL (I didn't expect to come down with a viral flu that would develop into Pericarditis *Fluid in sac around my heart* and make my life miserable for 5 whole months. I thought that I'd have at least 1 fill by now (just can't afford one), and that I'd have lots more weight off by now too, thus more restriction, and eating much less as well. I guess my point is, even though none of the things that happened to me were band related, I wasn't prepared for them to happen to me. Life is such a gamble no matter how great you live. Anything can happen to anyone at any time. It's just doing the best we possibly can for ourselves on a day to day basis. I hope that your mind will ease, and that a peace will befall you, and that you'll go into this whole surgery thing with a smile, and come out of it with a smile too. And yes, it's perfectly normal to have your mind racing in those final few weeks before your surgery. It's what makes us human, and it's what helps us remember our own mere mortality. I wish you all of my best in these next few weeks, and here's praying that you come out the other side a new and improved you! All My Best, ~Kelly -
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!! I hope you enjoy your day!
