Glad to hear that you're home and that everything went smoothly for you. You are still such an inspiration to all. You have handled this whole situation with such grace, class, and dignity, and you should feel proud of yourself and hold your head high. You are truly an awesome woman.

I am shocked to hear that this can be done, but yet happy for those whom have had it done and are having success with it! My band doc said that she receives requests for this on an almost daily basis and that it cannot be done. (Maybe she meant that she WON'T do it.)

Glad to hear that you're ok. Hang in there girl.

Everyone else has said it so well, so I'll just agree with them and send you a cyber hug. Lots of Love & Luck to You!

Here's praying that everything will go smoothly, and that you will come out the other side a happier, healthier you! -
That was beautiful. I have another that made me think of you. I hope that it helps comfort you in some small way. May all of your tomorrows be a little less painful then the yesterday before.

Sending many positive thoughts your way!

Motivation and type of excercise
dylansmom replied to claytargets's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think a recumbent bike would be gentle enough on your knee to exercise it, but yet not bug it too much, since you'd be sitting down. -
I got 8 out of 10 right. Sometimes the eyes tell all.

Oh great. It's supposedly headed our way. No wonder it was gorgeous out yesterday and freezing cold out again today. We just went shopping today, so at least we're stocked up on food.
-
I'm also shedding tears here for you. Please take care of yourself and know that you're loved.

Well, there you have it folks. ANYONE can slip. Even with the Vanguard band. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=12124 It just means doing our best and not worrying if we'll be next. It means rocking this bad boy/girl band that's inside of us the best we can now, and not worrying about the future. The power of positivity is truly overwhelming!!!! P.S. And I still agree with you too Paula. Planning ahead with a plan B isn't being a worry wort, it truly is prudent planning. We can still think positively about the bands that we currently have, and hopefully will never have to use a plan B. But should a situatioin occur, it's always nice to have an idea of what some of our options are too.

Jax, I am sincerely sorry to you for having to go through this. Especially since you have been a good bandster and have followed all of the rules. What a shame. Wishing you lots of love and prayers, and much luck to pull through tomorrow's surgery unscathed. All My Best

I've used mine once or twice. Most places don't like adults ordering from the kids' menu, but once you show them the card, they'll usually make an exception for you. (They did for me.) My surgeon gave me my card right at the hospital when I was banded. EVERYONE should get one, as it explains the medical stuff to hospitals if you ever need to go as well. I've used it for that purpose multiple times already as well.
-
Not sure what I'd do. Probably try to be rebanded. If that wasn't an option, then I'd definately turn back to full on vegetarianism, if not veganism. I agree that I refuse to have my innerds rearranged, so any of the other surgeries are out for me. I would probably look into the gastric pacemaker thing too.

Thank you for this thread Vines. The thought had crossed my mind of "what if" simply because I've never had a fill, thus no one has seen my innerds in a very long time. (They did a barium swallow on me back in Feb. here at my hospital, but that's still 3/4 of a year ago now!) I've been just trying to think positive and remember that I'll get my first fill soon, and that my doc can check me all out at that time. I've had no reflux issues, and can still belch a good one, so I'm just thinking positive at this point and assuming it's all ok. If I'm ever told differently, then I'll cross that bridge when and if I get there. Thanks again for this thread. You are certainly one smart cookie, and I love you and value your support and words of encouragement.

An endoscopy can tell you and your doctor if your band has eroded into your stomach or not. And yes, it is possible to have another band placed after the 1st erodes into your stomach. It just takes a while for your stomach to heal, and then depending on the amount of damage, you and your doctor can decide if getting another band is an option for you or not. Hope this helps. ~K

My best wishes go out to all 3 of you, as well as Leatha. I wish you all the best, ~Kelly

Sorry I'm late getting to this. I've been working a lot of long shifts, but I am glad that you had a happy birthday. Just know you're on my heart. Lots of Love, ~Kelly

I was looking into the RNY years ago and was told to wait at least 3 years before having a baby, but that it would be ok. I know Carnie Wilson had the RNY done and has since had a baby. I'm not sure if there's any info out there about her story or not. She probably has a web site if you search it.

Good luck to you!

Just my husband being laid off again the day before Thanksgiving. Last year it was being let go from his job of 10 years 2 days after Christmas. The things that make you raise your eyebrows, eh?

I am walking the floors almost in tears.

Same here. Even though I'd be a self pay to have to have anything done at this point (even have to pay $375 for first fill that is yet to happen), I'd still do it again in a heartbeat. My body wouldn't budge below 310 without the band. Now, I'm in the 200s. I thank God for my band!
