  2. Today was a pretty busy day. I finally finished my memo on my trip to San Francisco! The rest of the day was spent … http://t.co/sr9ItFdC

    I Bought A Bike

That's great! What kind of bike did you get? I have been thinking about buying a bike too now that the weather is getting nice and I'm losing weight.
  4. I had a craving for pizza too after surgery! But I waiting until it was "legal" and ate 1 slice. It wasn't as good as I remember it lol.

    Really Nervous

I love the chocolate flavored Premier Protein Shakes from Costco. For post surgery pureed foods I like the stuff at Blossom Foods. You can look both of these things up online. Don't worry about surgery. We all freak out and get nervous. It is natural. Just do what the doctor says and you will be fine. Check out my blog if you want to read more about the pre- and post op journey.
  7. Follow your doctor's advice and you will do great! Remember, each day gets easier than the one before it. If you'd like to know what to expect before and after surgery, check out my blog.
  8. Went to get my 6 week post-op check up today. I lost 50 lbs and Dr says I'm doing good.

    Waiting For Aetna's Approval

My Aetna approval came in about a week. They did not request any additional information other than what the doctor sent it.

    Help Help Help!

Yes, you may be lactose intolerant. But it might only last a few months. Also, do you have a lot of gas in your stomach? I have been experiencing that discomfort most of all.
  11. WOW! REALLY??!! She is just pissing me off today.

Hates When Friends Try To Talk Me Out Of Surgery!

It really pissed me off when people tried to talk me out of it too. My boss told me I was taking the easy way out. Here is a blog entry I wrote about it: http://jfabulous43.wordpress.com/2012/02/23/taking-the-easy-way-out/ Bottom line, don't listen to anyone but yourself.
  13. I am 6 weeks out and I have been having discomfort when I eat or drink anything. I want to say its gas but I’m not sure. It feels like the gas in my stomach has to move to make room for the food or water and that cause me pain and discomfort. I also find that my stomach makes a lot of noises now. I’m just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Do you have any advice as to what to do about it? For the long term folks out there, does it ever go away?

Does The Stomach (Organ) Feel Pain?

The pain is in the muscle they have to go through to get to the stomach. I also had a lot of gas pain and it felt like pressure on my organs. But no, there was no specific pain in the stomach other than what you might experience with really bad gas. The gas went away in about 4 days or so, but the muscle pain lasted about two weeks. It got noticeably less painful each day.

    What's In Your Fridge?

I eat whatever I want. I will say that I try to eat out less (pizza, burgers, fried chicken) and make better food choices, but I have had pizza post surgery and everything was fine. I have been able to tolerate everything I used to eat before surgery. That is one of the main reasons I chose this surgery over some of the others, because I didn't want any food restrictions. I eat all the same foods I did before, just in much smaller quantities.

    Psych Eval

In my psych eval they gave me a personality test. 500 questions! Two tests actually. I had a lot of things going on at work at the time so I was in a really bad mood (angry) and depressed. So my psych eval showed that i was an angry and depressed person (generally not true). I was approved regardless.

    Anxious :-(

Don't fall apart. I think it is typical for people to stall 4 - 5 weeks out. I stalled, gained, and am finally going back in the right direction. I'm 6 weeks out. I go numb in my legs when I sit too long but that used to happen before surgery too and is because of my weight pressing down on nerves.
  18. I am about 5 weeks out of surgery and I can't seem to control my head hunger. I'm really worried. I've given in a couple of times but mostly I try to wait at least 3 hours between meals. I want to eat even when I am full and this is driving me crazy. I don't know what to do about it. I tried sugar free popsicles, but really nothing seems to work. Did anyone else feel this way? Does the head hunger get better/easier to manage? I'm at my wits end with this thing!

    The Third Rail

As I get dangerously close to weighing 280 lbs, my brain is trying to figure out ways to try and sabotage my efforts. For the last week I have not lost much weight. As a matter of fact, I actually … Continue reading →

    Scared

Your fear it very natural. We all go through it. I wrote this blog entry right before my surgery. http://jfabulous43.wordpress.com/2012/02/14/talk-me-down-off-this-ledge/
  22. Thanks for taking the test
