Post-Op Days 14 And 15 Eggs, No Energy, Walk
Angelmom commented on Angelmom's blog entry in cindimca4's Blog
Yes, I have talked to the doctor, and the doctor said this is normal...for about 6 weeks. The egg was good...satisfactory, and my stomach felt pretty good. I am not allowed to take any vitamins, yet, because they can mess with healing and if there is a problem like a leak, vitamins can cause problems with a subsequent surgery that might be needed. I have however planned to take a sublingual B12 tomorrow to see if that helps...it won't go down the esophagus, so I think it will be ok. -
Why does this website take so darn long to upload, every single page takes minutes, and minutes? How does it get fixed? And, when I'm typing, the page will be doing something and won't let me type. It's very frustrating and aggravating. Please, administration...fix the problem!

Are you watching your salt intake?...considering time of the month bloat?

Deep Scabs...
Angelmom replied to Angie was Sleeved 08/31/12's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
lol...that's funny! I have big scab on several of my incisions, and the one is really, really gross. I wouldn't advise you ripping your's off. Mine bother me when rubbed by clothing, so sometimes I put large bandages over them to get relief. I have mine glued together, instead of stitched....except for the drain hole...that one is just a scab. -
Where Are Your Incisions?
Angelmom replied to LessofKelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have one just below my left breast, slightly to the center One each, larger incisions 3-4 inches below each breast. One larger one slightly to the left and about 4" above my belly button. One medium one 3-4" below the right breast, and in line with the other one below the breast. Finally, the drain hole is below the left breast 3-4" and in line with the other one below that breast. The smaller one just below the left breast and toward the center, had a scab get ripped off when I went for my post-op appointment. I had a bra on for the first time--very uncomfortable...and I sneezed, hence ripping off the scab. I was actually finished with the post-op appointment and at the nutrition appointment, and had to go back to the surgeon to get it looked at. Wearing a bra is very hard for me because my insicaions are mostly in the bra range...and get pulled on by the bra, or rubbed by it. -
Low Bmi, Insurance Denied :(
Angelmom replied to janda927's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It's inevitable that you'll gain weight...so it's not really lying. Time is what you have...keep "working at it" and gaining and resubmit, if you have to. -
You could buy a new bra!

Woman With Extra Hair On Face
Angelmom replied to Luvbug's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sally Hansen Sugar Wax is the only way to go. You can get good strips from Sally Beauty Supply, and reuse that wax over and over. Cut the strips into sizes you need. I've been doing this for over 12 years. I pluck my own eyebrows, and even now, sometime my mustache hairs if they are dark and I don't have time or desire to wax. -
My surgeon told me that we would be surprised to know just how much the sleeve can actually stretch...so to be careful in order not to gain the weight back down the line....and the insurances won't pay for another surgery if you stretch the bologny out of the sleeve you have now. Insurances will consider it a fail...and expect another one to be a fail, as well. Those things are definitely motivational factors for NOT doing something that might stretch the sleeve ou. However; I love diet soda...but I can live without it.

Spider Incision Belly Bleeding
Angelmom replied to xavtay2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Also, capillary/venous bleeding will be dark, while arterial bleeding will be bright....bright blood indicates arterial bleeding and can be far more serious. -
Spider Incision Belly Bleeding
Angelmom replied to xavtay2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dark blood means older blood and drainage. Light or bright colored blood means new bleeding. As long as you are not ill or having pus or new blood drainage, you are just getting rid of some of your original drainage. In general that's what I would expect to be happening. I had six slices....all were glued shut, except for the drain hole one--which had a slight T shape. Even the ones that were glued had some blood come out for a few days. Seems like some of that is normal...has to go somewhere. I wouldn't worry too much...just keep the wound clean and free from rubbing on things like cotton shirts--which seem to irritate my incisions still. You can use gauze and some tape, or a large bandaid to cover it up while it's still leaking. That helps me even now. -
Regarding kidney and bladder infections...my daughter had so many huge stones and infections, that she was home with iv's and had to get government approval for the special antibiotics because they were still experimental. There is a lot to her kidney story, but the ultimate reason they said she got infections was from hiney germs getting into the urethra...but I beg to differ...I think the germs were in the stones and infected her from the inside out. Adults usually have the infections from germs, I was told. Drinking plenty of water really helps, as well as fully emptying the bladder...and antibiotics....sometimes surgery if there are infectious stones present.

It isn't a problem with my computer because every other website works fine. I have XP and don't know how to check the memory. -

Hi. Thank you for responding. I added memory to my computer but I still have problems with internet explorer saying things about memory. I did have Chrome on here for a few days, that someone else downloaded when working on my Norton....and I uninstalled it because there are privacy issues with Google that I didn't want to deal with...and I think it made my computer run slower. I looked up Mozilla because I used to have that and never used it...and people say it makes their computers run slower....which is a problem I do not want. I need to find a way to deal with this problem that won't slow the rest of my computer down. I have basic cable internet. -

Clothing Size And Weight Lost-Help!
Angelmom replied to jewels1227's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
It's probably that you've lost mostly water weight...and that the largest parts of you have yet to shrink because the body will get rid of fat in the reverse of how it stored it in the first place. For example....your ankles, hands, neck and boobs may be the first things to shrink, while the belly and hips or whatever....may not go down that much, yet...so the waist of your clothes may fit but some other parts may not...yet. That may be why you are still able to donn bigger clothes. That's how it is for me, but I found that because I worked out quite a bit beforehand, that this time, my belly is shrinking, too. Once you are up to it...if you do even minimal exercise, I think you'll see more changes, and be easily wearing much smaller sizes. -
Struggling W/ Everything
Angelmom replied to phenetra's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The day I had my surgery, the first thing they gave me to drink was water...and it was the best tasting Water I ever had...tasted like sugar water. So I asked if it was plain tap water or if they put sugar in it...and it was tap water...but to me was sweet and delicious....so weird! Then the next day...they gave me the same water...and ice...and it tasted just like tap water...icky. Other than that, my taste buds have been normal. Lipton makes some powdered mixes that are sugar free and not too sweet. I have a raspberry green tea Lipton mixed up in a jug in my fridge right now. It's not that sweet. I'm still liking mostly the fruit punch crystal lite. Maybe brewing some regular mint tea to refresh your palate now and then would help. That tea doesn't need sugar, either. I'm not sure if there is a decaf one...but probably there is....and if you have a little of the regular now and then, i doubt it would hurt you.....or maybe have a tic tac. I had expected all these taste changes...but I don't have them. I guess that's a good thing. I had expected lots of that, and much less pain, but I got the opposite. -
Sat In Hospital Room!.
Angelmom replied to xlr8ahead's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My son has a cold, and I have been avoiding him like the plague, even sent him to live in his room the first week home. He has to wear a mask all the time in the house, and sanitize several times an hour...wash, not touch railings, lysol the door knobs...etc. The last thing I need is to end up back in the hospital with a bad cold and my asthma. If you have to wait...you'll get through it....I wouldn't want to have a cold and be a day post-op...especially if it involves coughing. -

Have you tried taking smaller sips of Protein Shake?...or watering it down a little? Make yourself get that intake...work on it all day long...because you know it's good for you. Have you been back to the doctor or called them about the problem, yet? -

Don't go to the gym. Walk around your house, and rest when you aren't doing that. Have you tried to have a sip of crystal lite or water before eating, to wet the esophagus....I have to do that sometimes...even without a sleeve. -
I think you are doing too much. I'm 14 days out, myself, and last night I took my daughter to dance and I sat in the park in my favorite chair....she took too long...1.5 hours, instead of .5 hours, and I was done for! I was in tears, scared, hurting, and had to take pain meds twice last night. Nursing is a tough job...and to go back so soon is a lot. Do you have a belly binder? Maybe wearing that while you run like a chicken with the head cut off will help give you some support.

I will never click on any of the ads, no matter what...I don't have money for that stuff, and I find them terribly annoying. They should target people who have money to spend...not me...but I know that's probably not going to happen. I need to find a way to deal with this problem that won't slow the rest of my computer down. I have basic cable internet. I would love if the administrators would FIX the problem...because i is a big problem....and if they would stop ignoring me, because this is not the first time I brought this issue up.
