Since I started on my Liquid phase of the preop diet. I have this weird sensation in my throat. It feels like there is an air bubble trapped or a full sensation like you need to burp. Hard to describe. I think it might be acid reflux. I've never experienced reflux before. I took two omerorazole and I didn't see any change. I'm not affected by this feeling just annoying. Any ideas?

O happy to find this page. As some of you mentioned I wasn't seeing the higher weights so thinking I'm the only one! I had my surgery may 23rd. My hw 465 sw 435 and now 3 months later im 374. Total of 91. Have so much more to go! We will get there. This past month I haven't lost anything. I keep hovering between 376 and 373. Hopefully it will start up again.

Need a very large knee brace. My knee has been hurting lately from exercising. Any ideas where I can find one that might go over my knee.

I started sleeping on my side 2 weeks out with a pillow wedged kinda under me and I would wrap my arm around it. Around 6 -7 weeks I could finally sleep on my stomach comfortably. I'm alot heavier than most so it was harder.

I had chills about a week out. Ran a low grade fever. But I never checked it out. I'm now 8 weeks out. I kinda just think it was my body trying to heal.

I Have Set My Date! July 19Th Dr Almanza - Anyone Else?
MirandaK replied to Wildflower's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Some people brought some liquid pain meds. I didn't. Plus I didn't know of it might interact with what they gave me. I made it. It was tough but doable. Take a heating pad. That helped a lot. And I also took some hot tea bags. And sugar free koolaid or Hawaiian punch. Good luck!! -
Incision Is Healing As Open Hole

My doc said once it comes open you have to let it heal open. You don't want to try to reclose it and take the chance if trapping some bacteria in it. -
Incision Is Healing As Open Hole
MirandaK replied to missmachine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had an open one. I soaked gauze in sterile solution and held it to my incision about 15 minutes 3 times a day. Then put antibacterial ointment on it with a bandage. It will eventually heal up. You won't have a hole. I thought the same thing but mine is healing great. It's healed all the way up to my skin. Just takes time. It has been one month now since my surgery. So about 2 1/2 weeks since having stitches out. -
Wow you guys are in school for so long. But I bet you start later!! I teach jh/hs and we were out may 17th. I had surgery may 23rd. I was getting pretty grouchy on my pre op diet during school. Sooooo glad it's summer!!! Good luck to you all having your surgery soon!

More than likely you won't need any pain meds they will give you a good dose when you leave in the morning the some later that evening. The pain is mainly from the gas so that's why you have to walk walk walk. You could take some of your own liquid if your worried about it. Yes I was in pain and tout I was dying! When I wasn't walking I was sleeping! -
Hey girl. I am having the same ordeal! My top one came completely open! Was gross! So my doc has me soak some gauze with sterile solution and put it on my open incisions for 15 minutes then put antibiotic ointment on it with a bandage. Just the two that are open. My other incisions are doing good. But my two that are open just have to heal from the inside out.

Yes you stay the night at the clinic. They have small rooms where there is two people in there. They checked my blood pressure and gave me nausea and pain medicine in the night. -

I had my surgery with almanza on may 23rd. I'm doing great. My top incision opened up as well as some of the other ladies. You may ask to have two stitches there. It's healing nicely though from the inside. I just nurse it everyday. Just prepare yourself that doing the surgery there is nothing like the states. I was very last to have the surgery. So I didn't go in till 7:30 pm. You stay the night there then about 9 am the next morning you load up in a van to travel to the hotel. The hotel was wonderful. They have Popsicles for you at the front desk you just have to ask for them. Later that evening you have to load back up in the van to head to the clinic for pain meds and nausea medicine. Have a pillow with you to hold against your stomach bc those roads are horrible. Now I look back all the bumping around helped with moving some of the gas out of your system. Only good thing about it! Then the next morning you do a leak test at the X-ray clinic. The blue dye really isn't so bad. Just have a purple mouth. I ate a Popsicle in between sips. The stuff you drink at the X-ray place was worse. Then later that evening you go back for more pain meds and the next day you go home! You will do great be prepared to be sore from the gas. Just walk walk walk like everybody says. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Ohh my mother went with me and everything she ate at the hotel was wonderful. If you might be taking any guests with you. It was all reasonably priced. Just take small bills for tip as well. Sorry so long. -
Wow. Your incredible! You look great!!

I would rate it about a 7 or 8. They took care of me. My mother went with me and they fed her there at the clinic and she stayed with me the whole time until that night. She was able to say good bye to me but I don't remember it. They took her to the hotel. He will be fine!! So will you!! I have never been so nervous and sick to my stomach before hand. But all is good now!!
