Sleeved 4/11---Back To Work Today
Carly replied to waistnaway's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It was the same for me- one week off. The first few days was a bit tiring, but then I felt pretty good. And after the next weekend, I was fairly normal again. Good luck to you! -
I am in my third week. My doctor told me to not eat Pasta and bread even though they are soft, as they form a kind of dough in the stomach. Sounds not good to me.
-
I had the same thing. Especially the sweaty and dizzy in the AM. Mine was for sure dehydration. Just get your fluids up. Drink nonstop. Make a smoothie with ice in it. Also keep you water bottle in hand and force yourself to drink. Good luck.

2Weeks Out And Stalled?
Carly replied to emelia.larock's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I told my NUT that, she said "who told you you were supposed to be losing in the second week?" She said that the body is just getting used to the fluid changes and not to worry about weight loss because it was for sure going to happen, but the body needs time to adjust. No worries. In my third week now, and it is adjusting and losing! -
4 Days After Surgery And I Feel Like I'm Starving To Death!
Carly replied to ginajet77's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Just make sure you are really getting in as much fluid as you can. I thought at one point right after surgery that I was really hungry, but it wasn't hunger, just a weird feeling in my stomach that is related to the healing/swelling/gas. I think that it is probably just an unfamiliar feeling that we can only relate to as hunger. Keep taking I those small cups of broth, fluids and see if when you know you are full, that feeling is still there. Chances are it will be, and then you'll know it isn't hunger. Can you do liquid activia? That saved my first week. -
I am a vegetarian. I too eat cheese and fish, so technically not a full veggie, but I have been a vegetarian for 20+ years. . I am two weeks postoperative. Yesterday was my first time of eating tuna. My NUT said she would rather I eat fish and eggs than trying to get my protein from just beans. Today I had cottage cheese with a bit of homemade applesauce and for dinner I had tuna with a dab of mashed sweet potato. Are you sleeved yet? If so, what are you eating?

What To Wear For Trip Home?
Carly replied to NJsharon's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I think yoga pants is a good idea. You won't want the band of regular pants pressing into your stomach while sitting. Loose is better. -
Hope all goes well and quickly. Speedy recovery too! Let us know when you can.

Thank you both, seasoned sleevers! Your stories really help to motivate. I hope we all find similar success for ourselves!

Am worried that maybe I am not doing things correctly. Maybe I am taking in too much too fast. When I drink water I am able to take a fairly normal sip of water and then another right after that. I try to keep that up as frequently as possible. Also, with thickened soups, such as lentil, if I am eating about 4 oz in a time span of about 15 minutes, is this too much too fat? I don't want to stretch my sleeve out.

Not At All What I Expected!
Carly replied to adrimc26's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm so sorry you are having a hard time. The amazing thing about this recovery is that, God willing, one day pretty soon, you will just wake up and feel so much better. Keep your chin up and be happy that you are on the way to taking control of your weight! -

I am doing ok. I went back to work last week. The first two days were a bit difficult but doable. By the end of the week I was feeling pretty normal. I have been living off of Water, Protein shakes, and lentil Soups. The soups are what feeds my food desires. I have lost around 15 pounds and all in all feel lighter and cleaner if that makes sense.

I think using a straw is much nicer when trying to drink protein shakes, especially if you make them into real shake consistency. I Haven't had any problems with excess gas due to this either.
-
Congrats to you! Hoping you have a speedy recovery!
