2 Months Post-Op And I Was In Tears!
Carly replied to Nadz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Nadz. Congrats! Thats awesome news. Keep it up. You lost a lot since we talked last. Great. -
I don't think Fluid retention would be a sign of dehydration. You should probably look at sodium content esp if you are eating anything canned, or it could be hormonal fluctuation. Near your time of month?
-
Are you sure it wasn't 8 8oz cups a day? You have to be drinking a lot more than just one or even two cups a day.

Yeah, it's really amazing to me that I am not tempted by it. And of course we all want our children to eat healthfully, and thank God that my kids do. But every now and then they will have desserts and treats. They just will. And it is part of real life for me, us, to be able to have the fortitude to not eat it.

Is that I am sitting at the dining room table while my kids are eating their after school meal, and there is a home made flan and a box of Krispy Kreme, and I am ok. If you knew me, you would know how odd that is indeed. I love my sweets. Apparently, not so much anymore. Thank God!

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?
Carly replied to JimmyGotSLEEVED's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I know you are happy about that. I don't have staples, but I did with my c-sections. You'll feel so much more normal. -
-
Good luck both of you. Wishing you the best!
-
Best wishes to all of you. Try to think positive thoughts and relax as much as possible.

Good luck to you. I went through those same feelings too. You'll probably have even more of those at the hospital along with strong emotions before surgery. But hopefully before you know it will be over and you will be recovering quickly and realize it is so worth it! Let us know.

This is weird. Sometimes if I lightly touch my right upper abdominal area, I feel a cool almost damp sensation although it is neither. Anyone ever felt something like that or heard about that?

Congrats! Keep up the good work and healing!

Is There Anyone Else But Me Whos Doctor Doesnt Have Them Drinking Proiten Drinks?
Carly replied to Michellefaina's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor didn't allow protein drinks until after a week of clear liquids. I wouldn't start them until you talked to your doctor. -

I will say what I've said elsewhere. My doctor didn't start me on vitamins until after two weeks because he said the stomach is not ready for them until that time. Also, he said, even at 2 weeks, if my stomach got upset, to discontinue and we'd wait until it was not damaging. Maybe you could try again after 10 days or so?
-
I think your doctor or Nut will probably recommend some kinds and tell you when you are to start taking them. I couldn't start vitamins until after the second week. They had to be chewable and the brand I take is Bariatric Advantage. Some people on here do not like the taste of them, but for me, so far, they are fine. Check with your dr or Nut before you get anything tho, and ask when you are supposed to start. Some Drs, like mine are concerned with starting too early for fear or irritating the stomach. Good luck.

Best wishes to you! God-willing you will have a successful surgery and speedy recovery. Let us know when you are out. Think positive thoughts, but try not to think toooooo much!

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

I am keeping my surgery a secret, not because I am embarrassed but because I feel what motivated me to do it is very personal. Obviously, I have some problems with food that go beyond just not having willpower, so telling someone not close to me would feel like I was inviting them into my home while in my pajamas. Do what's right for you. Don't worry about anyone else's opinions or feelings. We all have our secrets. -
How Is Everyone Doing April Sleevers?
Carly replied to sabrina4you's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had surgery on April first. Right now I am feeling pretty good. I feel cleaner and lighter. I have lost around 17 pounds. I am still working on getting all my liquids and adjusting the speed and size of consumption. I have bought several kinds of proteins: nectar: fuzzy navel, cappacino, and vanilla Isopure. I'm trying to mix it up a bit. All in all, I am plugging along. How's everyone else?
