    7 Hours Until Surgery!

That is amazing! So glad to hear you are well. How do you feel? How are you adjusting?
  3. I have been feeling really blue lately too. I am two days away from surgery now. It could be aggravated by my TOM, so I am hoping it will lessen soon. I haven't really contemplated the loss of eating as much as just being apprehensive about the surgery and recovery. I think it is like hiking up a mountain. You have to keep your focus on the ground right at your feet. If you look ahead too much, you will become overwhelmed and feel lost or hopeless. We can all do it!

That is awesome news Rayarbee, both the weight loss and the change in diet. Keep it up!

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

I am April 1st and it is now, cause I'm in Kuwait, just two days away! Right now it is Friday early morn. I can't sleep. So anxious. I have one week off from work- I even have a hair appt for the end of this week. Now that is opptimistic, huh? I woke up remembering last summer when we went to the mountains of NC and I didn't go river rafting with my kids because I was afraid I was too big. I am so praying that I will be able to have a different and better experience this summer! Best wishes and prayers for all of us Aprilists that we can finally put food and eating in perspective.
  6. So glad to hear you have an answer. I hope it is all good news for you from here on out!
  7. I have seen several new sleevers saying how hungry they feel. I thought one of the benefits of the sleeve was that it cut out part of the stomach that helped produce ghrelin(sp?). So, are y'all saying that you are still as hungry as usual but unable to satisfy that hunger?
  8. Lol MNBsleeve. You are sweet. I knew what you meant. Thank you all for giving me all of this good info. I am just trying to piece it all together to get some sort of imagery. I realize my story will probably not end up looking like the image I am creating, but it does help to have something to go on.

    Hi From Texas

Sorry, but that's funny, I just noticed that my post said "Irish you success"! Funny this iPad.

    Hi From Texas

Wow, that's great y'all are doing this together. Irish you both great success!
  11. I am so sorry you are having such a hard time. I hope that since they have located the problem, you are now on the mend. Please keep us updated. Thoughts and prayers with you!
  12. Hey Lissa, Yes, I am scheduled for surgery in 4 days. I hope I am like you and I won't want sweets like I do now, but I also hope I am able to get some foods down successfully. I guess I have the added issue of being a vegetarian. I am hoping tofu will be agreeable with me. Thanks!
  13. Thanks everyone! It does help. Hunger that is satiated with very little food sounds fine with me. My problem will be trying to get the right foods before the sugar sirens call to me. That has always been my demon. I appreciate all of the answers. :*
  14. What about...what are the first few days going to be like?

    Surgery In 1Hr

    Best wishes. Keep us posted!
  16. Hey Susie, I can totally relate to your feelings. I am being guardedly hopeful. My surgery is in 4 days, and it feels as if it is looming. Best wishes and prayers to you. Please let us hear from you as soon as you are able!
  17. Best wishes for a speedy recovery! We will be waiting to hear how great you are very soon! All good wishes your way.
  18. Thanks y'all. Maybe I will call today and find out! As the days draw nearer, the nights get shorter from missing sleep. Worry, worry. I appreciate the responses- a little foreknowledge is helpful.
  19. K, for those in the know...what about the drainage tube? Can you tell me about it? The video I just saw said it is in your chest cavity and it's really long and stays there until you are ready to leave the hospital. She said it is very painful and even more so when they take it out. Now I'm even more worried. Great.
  20. O my goodness. So some people go home with a drain, and some people never have one? Guess I should have been more thorough in my questions to doc. Thanks, y'all for the responses.

    Role Call!

Hey destined, I am one day before you. Best wishes to you!
  22. Hey Mimi, I would love to have a sleeve cousin! I know what you mean about realities. Every time I go to the city where I grew up, I feel like I am hiding from anyone who knew me, or making excuses for not going somewhere I might be recognized, and the "gosh, she has changed!" look comes over their faces. I am tired of feeling disappointed in myself. Hopefully, things will be brighter soon! Best to you, and keep in touch.

    Scared

I am really getting scared too. I don't seem to be able to sleep past 3:30am anymore I think that it makes it doubly hard for me to not be in my home country, but that is where i am, so I need to suck it up I suppose. God-willing, this will be behind us soon and all will be good!
