Thanks, Jimmy. I am feeling pretty good. Some crampy gas pains, but overall, I feel ok. Thirsty as heck cause they won't give me anything until day 2, but better than I expected. Looking forward to hearing all of your stories as well!

Ok, I am soooo nervous. Saying goodbye to my children is very emotional. I'm afraid I am going to get to the hospital and be crying the whole time! Anyway, I am off to the hospital. I will write when able. Prayers and good energy are appreciated.

Hi guys- sorry to double post, but I am out of sugery and doing pretty well. They did give me something to relax me before sugery and later another dose that knocked me out. Don't remember a thing. Best wishes to all.

Thank all, &Courtney, They just got me up to walk around. Not so great with the catheter, but it's ok. Still no need for morphine- thank God. I was a bit nauseated a couple of times, but they gave me some med and it dissipated. I thought the morphine might make me dizzy and sick, so I didn't take it and frankly, haven't needed to.

Thanks guys. I wish I could sip. They won't let me have anything till tomorrow morn. Still have a catheter. Yuck.

O my goodness. I am so sorry for your suffering, and I have no experience, so I offer no advice. Sorry. Just support. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Keep us updated if you can.

I too had no preop diet. I am going in in the morning for surgery, and they said clear fluids one week and then full fluids one week. We'll see.

Hey y'all, Well I guess I am the first April sleever, since Sunday is the first day of the week here in Kuwait, and I am going in tomorrow morning. Hopefully, I will be able to post good news soon. My sugery is set for 8:00am. That's seven hours ahead of EST. All positive energy and prayers are welcome. Take care!

Hey Chrissy, My husband is the same way, and I am basically alone in this. The way I look at it is that I have many habits and relationships with food that, while gratifying and soothing in the moment, are basically robbing me of a life of action and normalcy. It is hard to swallow (forgive the pun) that my life will drastically change because of an inability on my part, but without a drastic change, I know myself, and I would just live in inertia. I go in tomorrow morning. So here's to praying and hoping for a brighter future. Best to you!

I hear you. Discipline/willpower is my issue-heck probably for most of us here. I think what you have achieved it great. Feel proud of your accomplishments and keep on with it! It is a problem in our heads that doesn't just dissipate with the weight. Best wishes to you for continued success!
