I have been with my husband for 12 and a half years. Right now, we are not really in sync in the bedroom, but it isn't always like that. Our sex life tends to cycle depending on what is going on in each of our lives. However, even when we aren't in sync, I find my husband very attractive. I think attraction has a lot to do with personality too. Have you ever met someone that you initially thought was really good looking and then you get to know them and mentally say "ugh, what was I thinking? How did I ever think he was good looking?" The fact that you find him so repulsive is not just physical. There is more there. Just looked up and saw how late in the game I am on this. How are you doing with the changes?

As long as you aren't on the liquid diet phase I don't see why not. As a matter of fact I am just a bit over one month out and once a week I go to yoyo yogurt with my son and get 4 oz chocolate frozen yogurt. It is only 110 calories and in general I tend to be low on calories. I am learning how to live healthy with the occasional indulgence. If you don't allow yourself some of the stuff you want once in a while, it makes this just another "diet" not a lifestyle change. You are looking at the long term changes and frozen yogurt is a great alternative to a cheeseburger and fries or a pint of icecream. Keep up the good work!

So...where Do You Buy All This Stuff?
LadyIvy replied to txdee's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I did the same as Mr. Worm. I hear the Unjury stuff is pretty good, but I haven't ordered any. -
How Long After Surgery Before You Felt Good?
LadyIvy replied to Shilo30's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
7 to 9 days. I still tire in the middle of the day (one month out) but I could spend most of my day out at that point. -
Will A Water Bottle Be Forever Glued To My Hand?
LadyIvy replied to Ssilian's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't have to sip. I gulp 2 or 3 gulps and then have to wait 10-15 minutes. I'm just not a sipper. However, having a water bottle attached is a really good habit for everyone to have. You should never allow yourself to be thirsty. If you are thirsty you are at stage 1 of dehydration. Also, I have been great about my water in the past 6 months and it has made my skin so soft I look 5 years younger. There are lots of benefits to those fluids! -
No Longer Hot? Omg This Is Awesome!
LadyIvy replied to WhoozisAnyway's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
This makes so much sense! I am loving hearing this. I used to sweat like crazy all the time. It does not help that I live in TX. However, even now when I work out I sweat a bit, my hair gets wet under my biking helmet, but before, I needed to have a towel in my hand. I couldn't wear makeup because I would just sweat it off. I have to look into this because now I am cold all the time and at night I feel like I need sweats and socks to sleep (my husband likes an arctic chill). I would trade being cold to sweating when I haven't been doing anything to warrant it. -
I feel like I am only 75% in control of my emotions in the past two weeks. I know there are lots of hormones hiding in that adipose tissue that are being released at random intervals. My husband is very understanding as he sees me struggle to control it. For those of you that are a little further out, how long did this last? When did you start to feel stable again? I swear, its like I'm bipolar! I am not really having food issues, I can feel this is pure hormones. I just don't know how long this is supposed to last or if anyone knows any interesting articles on the subject.

I'm Desperately Hungry!
LadyIvy replied to marimar's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I posted about this a week out from surgery and no one responded. I felt like a freak. It went away about 2 weeks after surgery and now I know when I haven't eaten in a while, but I don't know if you can call it hunger. -
Is There Something Wrong With Me? I Have No Problem W/3-4 Oz
LadyIvy replied to Isabel'sGma's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It looks like you are doing great! I am worried often too, because I healed really fast as well. I am doing what I am supposed to and recently figured out that when I hiccup, it means I am done. Took me a month to figure that one out. I hit my 3 week stall (which lasted about 5 days) and now I lose a lb about every 3rd day. I am getting in between 600-1000 cals a day and because we heal so quickly we have a better chance of getting in all the required protein so there won't be any hair loss! You look like you are doing great! Just chew chew chew and go slow. -
Pre-Surgery Purchases
LadyIvy replied to Almostthere34's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The liquid diet is going to use a lot more liquid protein than you think it will. I would find a diversity of things you like for planning out the pre diet and enough to have for at least a few days after. Also, I was allowed sugar free vit c drops in the hospital when my mouth was very dry. I stocked up in advance too. I liked the protein shakes the same, but I couldn't take the cream soups after and was suddenly REALLY picky about my water. I could taste everything in it and it wasn't always yummy. -
I Dont Feel Any Different
LadyIvy replied to neeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We tried about a week an a half out, it was too soon. The movement made the muscles in my stomach very sore. Tried again a few days later, but I had to keep my tummy from moving too much for about 2 weeks! I think everyone will be different but the muscle healing process should be similar. NOW THAT is TMI, but I hope it helps! -
I Dont Feel Any Different

I was on full liquids by day 3 and mushies by day 10. I am still on mushies, but truthfully, a whole lot of things are mushy when you chew them very very well. I go back to regular foods a little more than 6 weeks after surgery, so for me I get to eat some darn peanuts again on the 18th of May. The main purpose is to allow your stomach to heal and help you not hurt yourself. I have had no issues with this diet (except I want a salad more than I can describe). -
I was interested in ordering the cheese sauce from Unjury. I have heard wonderful things and didn't get my surgery until April so now I am dying to try it. After surgery, I kept logging on and it said sold out for about 2 weeks. At the end of two weeks the page said it is apparently only shipped from October to April. What kind of business functions like that? grrrr

Help......is This Normal?
LadyIvy replied to xelapaul's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyones response is the same as what I would have said. See your doc asap. Reflux can cause esophageal erosion and eventually cancer. Don't just let it continue. -
How wonderful that you are setting those goals for yourself. I also had surgery on 4/9 and have lost 25 lbs too. My NUT never gave me a calorie intake to go by. I am supposed to focus on protein and fluids. However, it is hard not to look at calories when I keep track through sparkpeople it gives it all. I seem to average between 500 and 900 depending on the day. I have gone over (as high as 1200) but I had to snack all day to do it. (I have been experimenting with the new tummy). Shedding 14 lbs by memorial day is not really realistic. It may be able to be done, but it isn't going to be healthy. 2-3 lbs a week is much more realistic when considering both diet an exercise. If you go too quickly you are risking major hair loss and gall bladder problems. Slow and steady wins this race. You are doing great! Take the time to develop new healthy habits during your "honeymoon period". Also, I believe the term onederland refers to losing 100 lbs not getting into the 100's. I may be wrong on this. If anyone wants to comment on this as well that would be helpful. I see it used interchangeably.

4 Days After Surgery And I Feel Like I'm Starving To Death!
LadyIvy replied to ginajet77's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I felt hunger days 4-9. When it happened it HURT like crazy too. I dropped everything to do something about it. On day 10, it went away. It took me a couple days to figure out it was really gone. For 2 weeks I felt no hunger and had to remind myself to eat. Now, I get a slight hunger pang after a work out but it is very minor. Its a good reminder without being overpowering. Hang in there, I think some of us have excess residual gherlin that takes a few days to process. -
When Someone Asks You How Much You Have Lost...
LadyIvy replied to AngieG0410's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am open about the amount lost but not about the surgery. I completely agree with you. Saying diet and exercise is truth without playing 20 questions. -

I Dont Feel Any Different
LadyIvy replied to neeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I completely felt the same. Some of the first few days, I wondered if I ever had the surgery at all. I actually was hungry on and off the first week, then the hunger went away. As strange as that sounds, it took my stomach a week to catch up to the surgery. -

Read the research and statistics section on this site. There is a year and a half old link called gherlin and learning. It should answer all your questions. -
WTG! Congrats! I bet shopping is lots of fun now!

This Weeks Sleever Challenge!
LadyIvy replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I could only get a couple of bites in, but I am on the mushy stage and it was easy to grind this up to the consistency I needed before cooking. My family loved them too and never asked if they had meat in them. I'm not a vegetarian but these were still so good. Cheddar-Stuffed Black Bean and Mushroom Burgers Ingredients 1 can black Beans (14 ounces), drained and rinsed 1 10-ounce package cremini (baby bella) mushrooms, sliced 1 slice whole-grain bread, toasted 1 small onion, chopped 2 cloves garlic, chopped 1 T balsamic vinegar 1 1/2 t ground cumin 1/4 t salt 1 t black pepper 1 egg 4 oz sharp cheddar cheese, sliced Directions Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Place mushrooms in a food processor and pulse several times until coarsely chopped. Tear the bread into pieces and add to the food processor, along with the beans, onion, garlic, vinegar, cumin, salt and pepper. Pulse until mixed but still chunky, then add egg and pulse a few more times. Divide the mixture into four. Take a quarter of the mixture and form a ball, placing the cheddar cheese inside and then flattening the ball into a burger shape. (TIP: Slice cheese in 1" cubes for easy insertion.) Repeat with the other three patties. Place patties on nonstick baking sheet. Set baking sheet on the middle rack of the oven and allow to bake for 20 minutes, until outside is crispy. Serve with baked potato wedges and a green salad. (calories not included.) Makes four patties. My surgeon gives them out, but I didn't want one. I really won't be using it. My days of buffets are over and kids meal food is always fried. I haven't really gone out to eat yet, but I will just have them bring a to go box with the meal. I am very private about my surgery so don't really feel like chatting with some random waitress about it. One day we did make a to go stop at Rudys for a baked potato and I wound up taking 1/3 off the end, and giving the rest to my 7 year old. I only took 5 bites off of that 1/3, and actually had some potato for the next day!
