I am so happy and excited for you JLM! You look great and you are so brave. What a wonderful opportunity for you! Say hi to Minnie for me!

I started with a BMI of 57 and am now at 34-that is going from high morbidly obese to plain old obese!!!!!

I am so proud of all of us. I was 201 this morning. The last time I weighed less than 200 was in 1983. I am close to tears as I write this. To me less than 200 is within the world of the normal...been so long though I don't know if I will know what to do when I get there! Thank god for my lapband!

I just got a fill so I am pretty tight right now-but when I am a little looser or later in the day I have a Vitatop muffin top with a tablespoon of natural Peanut Butter. This is a delicious nutritious combo with high Protein and Fiber and the great taste of chocolate and peanutbutter

Please consider couples counseling. His treatment of you post surgery indicate there are issues beyong your lapband!

I don't know where you are from-but I look forward to the return of Spring so I can walk outside. Do you enjoy hiking? Depending on the terrain it can be a great calorie burner while building muscle at the same time. Pick something new and be passionate about it-you will get back in the groove!!!!!

I use my bug every day and would never want to be without it. It keeps me honest and responsible for my intake/output. I was afraid I would get sick of it like other "toys", but after 3 months I am still fascinated by it!

Hang in there-It seems like forever but it will come and it will be more than worth the wait.

I think that obesity and depression go hand in hand for many of us. Especially in women. There is documentation that the combo is even more frequent in families with alcoholic members. Good thing we are survivors!

Sounds like you handled it perfectly. She was out of line but I am sure it is not personal. I have an autistic son and it is hard to do everyday things like swimming. There are a lot of obstacles in the life of a handicapped person and their family. I am sure she unfairly viewed you as an obstacle instead of taking time to think about why you had every right to have your family in the family changing room. She is frustrated and probably tired and I know why, but she had no right to lash out at you. Thanks for being polite and respectful to her anyway!

It's still hard for me to beleive its real, but in a year you will know too how wonderful it is!

Hi I am not local to you but wanted to welcome you. I live in Western MA now but grew up near you in Fall River. I have been banded for about 7 months. I have lost about 70 pounds since my surgery and another 55 preparing myself for surgery. I am happy to answer questions or address concerns you might have!

Good thing you didn't miss the fill!! Feel better!
Do you buy any clothes while your weight is transitioning down?

I started in a 26 and am now a 16/14. I started buying "lots" of clothing on Ebay. I would buy in lots for super cheap and only wear those I like. When I started to get into more mainstream sizes I went to Salvation Army and got some nice brand names for cheap. Lately I have been getting some super clearance deals at JCP and sears. I try to have pants in black, blue and brown and a pair of jeans. I get lots of tops because they are cheaper and seem to "last" longer-for several sizes. My plan is to sell my old clothes on Ebay this summer to raise funds for my new permanent wardrobe!!!! My original size goal was 14 but now I am thinking about a 10.
