  1. Hey guys. So, some of you know and some don't but I have had complications since surgery, which was August 13th. It boils down to my lower esophagus is very narrow. I have a difficult time getting anything that is not liquid down and I am constantly feeling nauseous. As a result, I have had 3 stents placed and botox injected into my esophagus as well as numerous other tests and hospital stays. I began feeling nauseous again about 2 weeks ago and have been in contact with the GI dr following my case. I just got off the phone with him and he wants to do another dialation or stent placement tomorrow or Thursday. He also wants me to discuss with my surgeon the possibility of converting my sleeve to a bypass (which my surgeon and his team have discussed briefly in the past.) I guess I'm just venting and want to feel better. If anyone has any advice or have heard of converting to a bypass, please let me know. Thanks.
  2. Has anyone had nausea when they were 2 months plus post op? I am 10 weeks post op today. I have had other issues, a stricture which resulted in a stent placement, and my stomach had collapsed on itself and twisted which also resulted in a stent placement. The stent has been out for over a week now, and I am still feeling nauseous. Yesterday and today I was not even able to eat anything just drink water. I even tried powerade zero and crystal light and I gagged. I called the GI drs since they are the ones who have been following my stent issues and they say just to take my nausea medicine and wait it out. The surgeon's office stated last time as long as I'm getting water in to just take the medicine. I am back on taking the meds at max dose every four hours. I am sick of being sick! Any advice/thoughts?

    Halloween

We had a Halloween party last night that we had to bring a bag of candy to for tickets. I bought a bag that I do not like so I would stay away from it. The girls got lots of candy from the booths. I had my husband hide it so I would not be tempted. On Halloween, I think I am going to find a place (most dentists do this) where they will take the candy for a prize and they donate the candy to soldiers overseas or some other cause. That way we do not have lots left over at the house.
  4. I just saw this post. I had a twisted and kinked pouch. They placed a stent in my esophagus and pouch for 2 weeks and it fixed it. If the stent did not work, then they were going to convert my sleeve to bypass. Hope you are doing well.

    Pre-Op Diets

I am on the Atkins type diet as well. Can have whatever I like as long as I am under 20g of carbs a day. I am on day 5 and am doing well. I had one day at 21g but the rest have been under 20g.

    Skinny Girl Drinks

I agree they are not the greatest. I mix the margarita one with Sprite Zero and it is delicious!!! The new white cranberry cosmo is my new favorite, I drank that as is but also tried adding Sprite Zero and it stated yumm.

    August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

I'm an August Sleever!!! Scheduled for August 13th by Dr. McMahon in Seattle, WA. I'm 27 years old and have 100-125 lbs to loose. I'm beginning the anxious stage of pre-op, but I have a partner in crime. My husband just had the Roux-en-Y done by Dr. McMahon 3 weeks ago.
  8. Our surgeon is wanting us to be up to 2 miles 3 times a week by our 3 week post-op appointment.
