Was wondering if anyone kept their surgery a secret from friends and family? Was it hard because people wondered how the weight was coming off so fast or did they wonder when you only eat such small amounts? I am usually a very open book, fertility to get pg even with my weight before. But I rather not tell most people. I don't want to hear their opionon or have them judge. Did some of you plan to keep it a secret and then ended p sharing because people suspected something? Thanks for your advice!

ahh 2 weeks feels like forever away. I am so anxious, nervous, excited and many other emotions. how do I make the time g o by faster. What should I focus on? Packing? Buying things I need? Help!

So, I am heading out this weekend to get everything I need. I did not have to be on a pre-op diet. I already eat a very low carb diet now so the dr felt that was great! I didn't have to lose anything before I had the surgery however I decided I wanted to and lost 30lbs. I am keeping the surgery a secret to most so I want them to think I am just losing more weight. I also know the more weight the healthier I am on that operation table and that is important to me. Almost a week away and I am ready and very nervous. What is the scariest thing about the surgery to you guys?
-
You are having this surgery to be healthier and get yourself in better shape. I say go all out and just quit. You can do it!!!! I know it is easier said then done but I have faith in you! That you are strong enough to handle it. You are given a gift and approved by insurance! Don't possibly give them any reason to stop the surgery.good luck

got approved this am by BCBS. Took 8 days which wasn't bad but I was starting to get nervous. Tomorrow I go for all my pre-op testing and have a surgery date scheduled for May 30. So close, yet so far! Can't wait to start this amazing journey!

OMG!,, you guys read my mind. I am scheduled for May 30th and it feels like forever but I am getting nervous. I am also still on maternity leave from work and stay home with my twins who are 9 and a half months. It gives me way to much time to think. Second guess my decission and also dream about the new me and how amazing my new life will be. I feel all over the place with my thoughts when I'm not busy( not that the kids don't keep me busy) but you know what I mean. These next 33 days are going to be crazy. -

RawrrAshlee- I also have a tentative date of May 30th. I just hope to be approved by insurance right away. Lady there said my insurance shouldn't give a problem and I also live by you! Wonder if we have the same dr? I am Dr Chau in Plainsboro, who is your DR? -
When Can You Drive Again?
LovetheBeach replied to NJsharon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
NJSharon, I also live in NJ and have a surgery date in May. Looks like May 30 but I hope I can get in before( depends on insurance and they are switching over to a new hospital). Let's keep in contact and take our journey together. -
For those of you who needed to have an endoscopy. Did anyone end up having any problems? Thanks for you input.

I have a dr I see for something other than weight loss. He is like Dr House from the tv show ( except much nicer). He is so smart and is just a walking book of all kinds of knowledge and facts. He is helping me with the surgery and supporting me through this ( having my surgery in may ). He swears by taking B-5, B-12, and rubbing lavender on your scalp, the hair loss will not happen or be much much less. Again I haven't had my surgery yet so I don't know if it works but I promise I will be doing this before surgery just in case. He truly is the most educated/ smartest person I know. Hope this is helpful for someone!

just wondering for those of you who had the surgery approved by insurance how long the approval took. I have BCBS and am covered for surgery but was wondering how long the process takes after I finish my 3 NUT visits?
-
I hope you don't mind me asking what insurance do you have? I'm so afraid of this. I wish you the best and I will be praying for you for the next appeal!

worst/hardest thing about being sleeved....... Best thing about being sleeved......
-
hey guys First of all you are all truly an insertion. Weather you have had the surgery, in the process(which is the stage I'm in, insurance stuff) or just researching the sleeve you have all helped me with reading your stories and blogs. Im reaching out to you for some help. I hope to have my sleeve may/ June and am very excited. My husband who is also my number1 fan is a little nervous. His moms friend passed away from complications having gastric bypass. He loves me how I am. With that said he understands how hard I work to lose weight and realizes that I just don't lose enough to be in the healthy stage. He also realizes that I will finally be healthy for our 8 month year old twins. We both are very athletic and do triathlons together. However since the weight I would never be able to compete. Soooo....I was wondering if you guys had any advice for him, support from people who have had the surgery. Things your family or spouses felt. Pain that you were in early on(he hates to see me in pain). Just anything I could share with him and let him read. I could let him read the whole site but that might take too long haha Thanks for allyour help!!!
-
I can't wait for this!!!! You will never go back, so money well spent!
-
Bedhead, would you still do it all over again, even after your complications?
-
Yay! The fun begins, I can't wait for mine
